This was great! Played a priest in PoE1 and wanted to do it again this time around but had no idea really how to best utilize the stats and subclasses. Thank you for these awesome guides!

My Eothosian Kind Wayfarer Cleric was one of my favorite playthroughs, basically they are an unkillable beacon of buffs healing and tanky glory. Shield and Flail ftw

I wanted to try out a "Cleric" build and was a bit upset that I can't mix a Kind Wayfarer Paladin with a Magram priest. It is also strange that a Bleak Walker Paladin cannot mix with a Berath priest. I had to settle with a Bleak Walker/Magram combo, but it is a very decent build.

Kinda nice fire damage synergy there :) Thats what I would call perfect "offensive support" class :D

Any recommendations for your companion Xoti, she seems to be a unique priest class. I've multiclassed her as a monk just to give her some more variety and so she can take some better hits if attacked.

So, is druid (fury) with Priest of Eothas good idea?
    I was think about squad:
    1. Fighter (devoted) / Rogue (assassin); tank-two handed sabers or axe with shield. Human
    2. Paladin (Bleak Walker )/ Rogue (assassin); tank with staff. Pale Elf.
    3. Ranger (sharpshooter) / Chanter (necromancer) ; two handed gunslinger, Aumau.
    4. Priest (Eothas) / Druid (Fury) ; passive healing and active dmg dealer Godlike Nature.
    5. Wizard. Elf
Idea: 2 + bear in male combat, reinforced with skeletons. Enemy would be flanked giving bonus to rouges.
    .
    Regards,

Could you do a guide on the combat system/ai? I want to like it, but im finding it hard to see ‘depth’ in the combat when my characters just auto attack everything, and when after you issue a command, your character stands idle with ‘...’ doing nothing. Anyway thanks for these kinds of vids, theyre useful

if they aren't doing anything, it means you have them on basic ai or whatever it'll be in 2, which gives you full control of actions

Thanks for all the great guides. 1 question, do you know if minor avatar works for unarmed? It says increased weapon damage, but I know that the 2 handed weapons passive works for unarmed, and didn't know if this was something different

Do the priest spirit weapons count for the favored weapon of the of the Devoted subclass of Fighter? Example: Berath’s spirit great-sword and Devoted picking great-sword.
Oh, and great video as always.

      Good question.

    • @Fextralife
      @Fextralife  6 ปีที่แล้ว

Yes Devoted works with your Spirit Weapon. Just keep in mind two of the Subclasses have two weapons so will take a penalty to one if you do that.

Fextralife Right. Not sure I would do it with anything but the great-sword, if at all.

So I was thinking of multiclassinh my Skaen Priest character from poe1.
But I saw this cool level 9 skills Revenge of Skaen and the Incarnate.
    Seems cool.
Is it worth to not take multi-class for these late game skills?

Not so sure elf is a good choice for an Eothas Priest. They don't get a bonus to might, int or res.

Pretty sure he meant this if you multiclass a ranger

How about the universalist (berath + shifter)?

wonder if going a melee like Barb with Priest, then getting Dex and Intell for obviously aoe and then high action speed for both casting spells on the frontline that synergises well with melee skills, would work well or not

    •  6 ปีที่แล้ว

Well, it could potentially work. I would start the fight in the backline, adding buffs/debuffs as fast as possible, then activating frenzy and charging into (ideally already engaged by your tank) enemies do to as much weapon damage as possible. Only stop attacking if you need to really heal or clear some major nasty debuffs from party.
BUT I still think that its better to have devoted martial class and devoted priest for constant buffs/support throughout the whole fight.

Damn now i Wanna try a melee priest.
Anybody have ever made a 5melee party?

  • @ouroboros6125
    @ouroboros6125 3 ปีที่แล้ว

If anyone sees this and is also late to Deadfire like I am...
...If you want to play a support/healer on harder difficulty, don't play priest. Any combination of chanter/druid/paladin is better. Priest is by far the worst healing class, only having 2 casts of a small radius ok'ish heal at lvl1 and a mediocre AoE heal at lvl3. Then you have to get to high level before getting anything remotely useful. Even chanter's passive 1HP/S for your team is more useful than the priests entire friggin skill tree in longer and tougher fights. Paladin has burst heal + HoT buff and can ress people. Druid has many potent heal over time effects. Priest is a trap. The only way I would ever justify having one in my party would be a hybrid damage dealer and debuffer priest, focusing on a split role between debuffing enemies and dealing damage.
