The soil of Bengal has been very fertile when it came to art, music, literature and other outlets of creative excellence always. Being an artist who comes from the land of Tagore, I wanted to discover how he would sound in a set-up conceived by the musicians of today. We don't believe in experiment just for the sake of it and hence my colleague, Akshay has kept the dynamics of the piano arrangement very lyrical and tasteful. 'Tagore 2021' is a celebration of the timelessness of Rabindranath Tagore's songs.

আপনার গলায় রবীন্দ্রসঙ্গীত অত্যন্ত ভালো লাগে আমার। মনে আছে, আকাশ আটে একটি অনুষ্ঠানে একবার আপনি রবি ঠাকুরের একটি গান গেয়েছিলেন, অ্যালবাম প্রিয়তমাসু। গানটার সুর মনে থাকলেও কথাগুলো ভুলে গেছিলাম।তখন আমি ক্লাস সেভেন বা এইট। তখন ইন্টারনেটের এত সহজলভ্যতা ছিল না, আর অ্যালবাম কেনার উপায়ও ছিল না আমার... বছর চার পরে wynk এ অ্যালবামটা খুঁজে পাই। আর খুঁজে পাই সেই গানটাও, "যা পেয়েছি প্রথম দিনে"। সৌমিত্র বাবুর অসাধারণ পাঠ, এবং আপনার কণ্ঠস্বর... আজ অবধি "যা পেয়েছি" অনেকের গলায় শুনলেও আপনার গলায় শোনা গানটিই সর্বাধিক প্রিয়। সেই সঙ্গে ওই অ্যালবামের "অমল ধবল পালে লেগেছে", "বাজিল কাহার বীণা", "তুমি নব নব রূপে"... সবই খুব সুন্দর লেগেছিল। ভালো থাকবেন। নতুন নতুন গান আমার মতো গুণমুগ্ধ ভক্তদের উপহার দিতে থাকুন এই প্রার্থনা করি।
