Could you live on the wages they must pay workers to reach that price?
I have the 7 string version of that bass. It's an amazing bass, but its tone circuit is not parametric. It's a standard 3 band active circuit. A parametric eq would have additional controls for the center frequency of each band, and a Q (bandwith) control for each band. That said, the tone circuit in the bass is very musical and noise-free.

I got two other basses by Harley Benton, the MB-5 in sunburst and black matte, they are true musicman stingray killers, best copies out there. I paid about 140 usd per instrument, quite freaking incredible. You have a great time.

Great video. Well presented. I got this bass four days ago second hand in Edinburgh for £110. Can I ask though, does the pick up become active when the button/knob is pulled up or is it when it’s pushed down? I didn’t get instructions or a guide to explain and don’t want to waste the batteries. Thank you
That is one of the issues with Harley Benton, not including instruction manual. But, when the switch is pulled up the pickups are active. Thanks so much for watching the video.
Own both the 4 and 5 string versions, dump the tuners, up grade the pre amp, some Zen Nordstrand, now you have some mojo magic ! note the 5 string - up grade to hipshot 18mm spacing - easier for big fingers to play than the 16mm spacing, don't forget to order THE SOFT CASE GEAR BAG very well made for the price.
Is the Hipshot a direct replacement or do you need to drill new holes?
Great honest review. I would love to purchase one but I'd have to sell one of my other five basses, and I ain't doing that! Upgraded with EMG's and a Tone Monster pre-amp, these basses sound amazing. Unbelievable value for money....go get one!

Dave, did you change the tuners? if so which tuners did you switch to and was it a direct fit or did you have to drill the holes bigger?
I have read that Gotoh GB7 type tuners drop in.

A fair review there, I've had mine for around a year now and the tuners are definitely the weakest point of it, getting it in tune takes a little longer but it does hold the tuning well once you do.
Really good looking meaty double humbucker bass guitar for the money.

This bass doesn't seem to exist on Thomann anymore.
I just checked and I think that the bass is gone from their site. It looks like the HBZ 2004 is the closest thing. That sucks. The bass I have is amazing. Thanks for watching.

I am interested in HB with my budget.. It is 2021 however, and we know it is a slave labor product. That makes it a hard sell for me.
