How should the naming formatting works for a society/culture that does not have first name/last name convention, but rather patronymics such as Icelandic or Malay names?
You should fill in the details (given name & surname) as the society/culture used to do it. Not necessarily the "surname" of the son must be identical to the surname of the father or grandfather.

Unfortunately, this software disappointed me greatly. First, no real change or update has been made to the software for five years since v8.0 issued in 2016. Eversince, I have found much better and friendlier software packeges. Their only downside is that they can't be synced with MyHeritage databases. In September 2020 I contacted the MyHeritage support center and for 11 months until August 2021 I did not get answers to the questions I asked about this software regarding sync problems. I am disappointed!
I would also like to ask for you recommendation. I just tried Family Tree Builder, unfortunately, some options which were also mentioned in the video are not available in a FREE version and I do not want to pay monthly subscription. I could imagine one time payment about 50 EUR for nice software though.
I have 500 duplicates, now that I know about Family Tree Builder, I am working on it. Once I delete a family on FTB, will it delete them on MH website after, I sync? What does "save to file" mean when you find the duplicates?
You can create, download and print a report of your family tree, that will have all the details and a personal photo for each individual, but the actual tree is not possible to download as word or excel. Only in GEDCOM format, a standard format that all genealogy software and websites will recognize to display it correctly.

Hi Karen, No one can see the information you have on your computer. If you sync with the website, the default privacy settings are that dead people are public and living individuals are privatized. Please suggest offline mode (no internet required) software with search option, adress, name, born-death year etc.

SURE, you can export a GEDCOM or use the special feature to export into an Excel file.

We only do that on the website, when a visitor looks at your website and that is to keep the privacy of living individuals.

You can work on both and keep the versions sync. Depending on the work I do I use one or the other.

There are always updates. When we do them, the software will let you know and do this automatically.
