This shows all the more that St. Joseph was carefully chosen by God for the role of foster father. Not "too young", not "too old", not "too quick to speak", or not "too quick to condemn himself". Perhaps God must have thought that since My Word is to make flesh, I need a quiet, dutiful man this time around, one who acts without excuses. 😇 I mean, four instructions from four dreams, yet not one excuse. No rooms in the inn, yet no excuses. At the Presentation, no excuses, even after hearing a prophecy that a sword would pierce the Heart of the Woman he loves. I would flip, if someone tells me he would slap my wife, talk less of a sword. No excuses, just migrate to foreign land. Then, relocate to another town. Joseph!! An excuse less life towards God!!!
