I instantly recognized the mountain landscape starting at 6:41 (and clear to the end) where you stopped for your first night on the trail. This was my sublime destination on my first trip (solo) into the Wind Rivers in 1988. I spent a few days there. It's great seeing it again, just like I remembered it! Pictures from there still adorn the walls of my home.
I always debate whether or not to put subs in. Gopro's do require it for the most part with their microphone being as bad as it is. Now that someone noticed I think I'll put them in. Thanks for the push.
Blake, met you a while ago when we were building our house. Pretty sweet channel. Love the wind rivers! I thought I was bad ass when I did 37 miles there, I was obviously mistaken.
What a trio of beasts! Stellar, crazy-cool and a little bit nutty. As usual...living vicariously through you handsome fellows. And, yes, I was not paid (much) to say positive things.
Just discovered this channel but it is fantastic. Vastly superior to other backpacking-focused channels. Camera work, editing, and story telling is top-notch.
Was also there in Aug of last year. I messed up my upload and put the wrong year. We spent 14 days fishing, exploring, climbing mostly off trail instead of fastpacking miles. We did get caught in a few storms though. A serious hail and lightining storm over Lizard Head Pass. Good times!
DuctTapeADK aka Russ I was there in early August of 2018 too. I did a couple of 20 mile days. One from Big Sandy to Clear Lake, and another in Green River to Temple? I could be messing those up, I wonder if we crossed paths. Hike on man
Now, it's going to sound crazy, but the key to not getting struck by lightning when you are in a storm up at altitude, is you hunker down between some rocks like you guys did, but then you drop your pants and rest your fishing tackle right on the ground. An old mountaineer told me that one and I haven't gotten struck by lightning once! Seriously though, great vid. I'm stuck in the big city and have to just go running and think of all my favorite trails/watch youtube hiking vids.
I really like the Ultimate Direction Fastpack 45 for trips over 2 nights. The smaller versions are perfect for shoter trips. They are light and relatively inexpensive. If money wasn't a factor k woukd get something from Hyperlite Mountain Gear. Their stuff is waterproof where the UD packs are not.
Mediocre Amateur awesome thanks, I’m looking at a 6 day stage race were you have to carry your own stuff. Packs I imagine can make all the difference 👍🏽👣👣👣👣👣🏔
Ben Riseman No worries, thanks for the information, I’ve seen this pack while hiking and some of the other you tubers mention them as well, again thanks
I would love to get any ideas on how you obtained info for your intinerary. This looks like an amazing trip and I hope to do it soon. Any bear incidents? How'd you like the Ultimate Direction pack (liter size?)? Thanks for the video and the inspiration.
zentaoist76 We got most of our info from blogs. One of them was by a guy named Andrew Skurka. Just Google 'windriver high route'. There is a lot of good info. I tried to make my Fastpack 30 work but just couldn't fit everything. The faspack 45 was awesome. Plenty of room but running wasn't easy with that big of a pack so we were reduced to a fast walk.
looks incredible! thanks for the details; I'll be out there july this year hiking the trail with some friends. not nearly this fast though... great video! and really helpful to visualize what the conditions could be like
The 6500 seems awesome. The 6300 was a good idea poorly executed and the 6500 seems to be the all the good stuff and very little of the bad. I set up a couple picture profiles but if I'm using the camera with a phone and gopro I usually just shoot standard with no profile then try to tie all the cameras colors together in Premier.
I don’t understand. Why go so fast. How can you enjoy all that beauty when you don’t even have time to see it. I thought the point of the outdoors was to get away from civilization and all the stress.
Just discovered your channel -- superb content. I don't understand why you don't have at least 10x the subscribers. Perhaps it's the excessive vomiting in almost every clip? I'm at the point now where I feel nauseous as soon as I see Danny's face in the intro...
The videos you guys make are utterly awesome! I’m hooked!

The lack of subs here is criminal. Top notch outdoor camerawork and great personalities ;)
Caleb Crandall We agree but TH-cam is a mystery.

Ha! only now realized that blake got it right you meant subs as in subscriptions while I thought you were referring to subtitles.
Haha, yeah. You sound just fine for me. Writing captions never hurts
Great channel
Blake- "Apparently we didn't spend enough money..." haha
Brilliant! Top quality content! Glad I found this channel.
Going to be there for the eclipse! Thanks for the previews, guys.

Been up there on horseback a lot of times. Great range, great fishing. You guys are animals!
Blast through climbing paradise, save all the beautiful walls for me to solo.
I really like your sense of humor or and subtle self effacing references.
Great video! I'll be in the Winds next month.

Love your adventures! Keep it up!!!
You guys are savages!Ive been watching these vids for an hour and my stoke is high!Nice channel
That flamethrower action was awesome! ;)

Thanks for the tip I'll make sure to film blake following your instructions next time we get caught in a storm.
Ugh. this makes me miss your show so much. Do you ever think it will get revived? Love your guy's work!
Aron Anderson Thanks Aron. The show probably won't be revived but we'll keep trying to put out cool adventures as much as possible
Danny, what kind of friends fail to let you know when you have stuff in your teeth? 6:50
Another great vid! Love the Wind River range.
I know right! So frustrating to edit a video of yourself when you have stuff in your teeth.
The music for making camp 😂nice
This is good! Well done guys
This is the best channel
Majestic AF indeed. Actual factual.
I got snowed on in the Winds in August. lol.
We are pleased to announce that the Mediocre Prize for Campcraft goes to The Blizz for his use of a camp stove as a blowtorch. Congratulations!
That mosquito looked like it hit the jugular bullseye at 6:40ish. How do you guys handle ticks and other blood suckers in those shorts?
How were the mosquitoes? Thinking of going in June
Can feel your pain.
I get pretty stoked when I check my subs and see a new video from MA. Especially anything Wind Rivers, my favorite mountain range.
Bengals1us I'd say it's my favorite as well. It's amazing every time
Same here, love MA.
Odd. I found myself singing Little Mermaid on my last hike. Kindred spirits.
Doug H Its terrible. Danny's been a little mermaid kick for a few months now
Well done boys
Your videos have cool music.
Any thoughts on fast packs? Which one seemed to be the best all around pack? Thanks in advance 👍🏽👣👣👣🏔

@@expatadventureturkey9324 Years late here but Superior Wilderness Designs will custom make your ultralight waterproof pack.
Ben Riseman No worries, thanks for the information, I’ve seen this pack while hiking and some of the other you tubers mention them as well, again thanks
At 0:28 the dude on the right has a heart formed by his hair

What do you recommend as a good "fastpack" backpack?
No fires in a designated Wilderness Area unless it's an emergency...
“majestic af”😂
4:13 relatable
We miss the blizz
6:36, a little fly
I miss Blake
What is your gear load out?
6:34 Danny getting bit by a mosquito. Are there typically lots of bugs on your outings
Wind Rivers are notorious for mosquitos.
I never trek. I'd like to go there. Does it require a long walk to see the view though?
what time of year did you guys do this?
Christopher Hoffman It was the end of July
looks incredible! thanks for the details; I'll be out there july this year hiking the trail with some friends. not nearly this fast though... great video! and really helpful to visualize what the conditions could be like
Wish this video was twice as long.
Why did that humming sound like one of the songs from The Little Mermaid? lol.
You should fastpack more.
What is your camera gear?
On this video we each used our phone so iPhone 7 plus and a Samsung S8, then I used a Sony a6300 with 16-50mm lens and a gopro 4.
Mediocre Amateur cool thanks. I have an a6500. What are your color settings? It looks really good.
The 6500 seems awesome. The 6300 was a good idea poorly executed and the 6500 seems to be the all the good stuff and very little of the bad. Those Mountains have a severe watermelon snow syndrome.
Why does Blake go on these trips? He seems unhappy and complains quite a bit.

Man up Blake and get out while you can don’t break the rules while you are in a national park you’ll get a bad rep and the rangers will fine you

They aren’t doing it blindfolded, dumbass.

Sounds about right. After watching several episodes viewers tend to develop a Pavlovian response to my face just like the one you're describing.
