Getting to know casio RZ-1 (Sorry upside down..)

It came filled with patterns and some songs from previos owner but as its out of context for me and obviously someone elses old work in progress I have started from scratch programming my first song on this beauty. Even though this unit comes from one of the groups that served EDM to the masses along with Aqua and Moby(!). I didnt want to start jerking off :p They opened my eyes in 1992 as I stared at an infamous ww2 submarine in the north sea on MTV. As a sollution I have dedicated one of the four sample buttons "sample 2" which is a 0,2 second tb303 sample to always remain intact as a legacy memory. This half toy half professional drum machine is obviously a model that gave shape to a lot of Euro Disco and techno among other musical fields. I soon realized I had to work with sketching on paper so thats how I started. i dont know how it would be possible to program it without making a plan with pen paper and an eraser. Funny but that alone brings me back in time. Makes me remember Dungeons and Dragons.
Here's the result of me having time for it again. It will soon get basslines from a Yamaha RM1x but this session is including a kaossilator and a porta studio from ca 19996 I found on a yardsale. Enjoy!

To clarify what Im babbling about in the text above: !!!This particular unit!!! was used by U96 for their version of "Das Boot" (in combination with other machines of course).
