He is underrated and overlooked. What he did in 2022-2023 was amazing. But that NCAA tourney is something else. Duals and Tournaments are what separate the greats from the rest.
Didn’t he beat yianni as well? I think his most impressive performance was against Sammy Sasso when he took him down a bunch of times in the last period which is a freak occurrence because of how good his defense is. Super inconsistent unfortunately
And he pinned NCAA finalist Ridge Lovett who’ll most likely make it to the finals again and possibly win the title unless Swiderski, Parco and especially Henson have anything to say about that. This all depends on the seating too. Can’t wait for Gomez Vs Lovett rematch on February 9th. This will determine who’s the best 149 pounder. It’s crazy to think he beat 2 NCAA champions (RBY wasn’t a champ yet but still tho) the Yianni win was the most impressive since Yianni hadn’t lost since 2018. Sasso being a 2x finalist really and the way Gomez just took him down 3 times just shows why injuries suck. Gomez could’ve made sum noise, the rematch would’ve been tight since Yianni makes those adjustments. I really wanna see Gomez make it to the top cuz he’s shown he can move with the best. BUT I LOVE LOVETT TOO since I saw him go against RBY at 133. Either ways I’m excited to see this

He won the match not the dual, they haven’t beat iowa in like 18 years
Well dude it’s iowa. That’s like watching Penn college beat Penn state. Not happening

He came to Texas for a camp back in 2014 but ended up wrestling a local tournament and I saw him beat the brakes off of my teammate 😂😂😂
What about their next match?
Amateur wrestling has its own language. I understood 4/5 of what he said.
He beat you easily the next time.
