When I write this comment, the date is Mar 5, 2019. I came back to upload #1 after *binge watching* ten of her 256 videos to properly study each and every content. I honestly don't understand why all comments are from ladies. Alexa Donne is an excellent writer and tutor.
I loved watching your tag! As a newbie myself (even though you are definitely not a newbie now, haha), it is nice to see someone who has made it so far on Authortube. :)
Thanks for the content. I'm going to start posting authortube videos soon. I appreciate you including these questions! Thanks so, so much. Wishing you all the best.
I love this video (and not just for the shout out)! So excited you finally gave in to my begging and so excited everyone gets to see how awesome you are!
Hi, Alexa! I don't know very much about author tube, but I love the two videos of yours that I've seen so far and I'm going to binge the rest. And your book :) I think I may have first heard about it through booktube, Christine @ Poland Bananas Books. Just ordered it! Can't wait to get started!! So glad you're here. Take care, Christy
Hi Alexa! I came across your video on building author websites and you've got me hooked on Squarespace! I'm just in the process of building my website with them. Anyways, I just wanted to pop a comment into this video of yours to say that for some reason I can really relate to most of what you've said on writing - especially the writing fanfiction without even knowing it was fanfiction! Even more so, I feel such a connection because we are so close in age (I just turned 33 this year). I'm contemplating starting a podcast/TH-cam channel, but feel as if I'm too old to do so - but coming across your video just inspired me! :) Thank you!
Until just now I didn't know author tube existed. I have been watching booktube (which I learned about last month) thinking I wanted to do a booktube channel. Now I'm torn. I think I want to combine the two. Your video on how to start a TH-cam/booktube/author tube channel was very helpful to me. Thanks for the info.
It's great that you are going to give some truthful advice for want-to-be authors. Literary agents scare me. How do you know they are any good and overall are a good person? Then you have to sign a contact in blood and you're trapped with them! How not to get taken advantage of. Would like to see a video on that.
It's definitely a minefield out there! That's a great topic suggestion--there are so many red flags to look out for, and things to consider with agent fit! I can reassure you that agent contracts aren't all bad. Most boilerplate contracts are fair--only some agencies have insane clauses that can screw over an author. And sometimes when/if you part ways, you can get an agent to waive the more sticky clauses, depending on the situation.
Is it wrong that I love that I can hear your kids in the background? I mean, as a mom, you just notice, it's not overpowering. Gotta say, I love how you've come out of your shell since this video. You were never putting on a show, but at the beginning of this video, you were super formal. Glad you lost that. 💖 Your natural "character" is really likable! ;)

Glad it helped! You can definitely do both! Why not :)
Hey Alexa I enjoy your videos alot. I would like to know how do i get on author tube?

Great points.

I don't have kids, so it must be someone's else's! I do live in a pretty busy apartment complex area.
