Paul Dano was the best Pierre Bezukhov! The way he brought out the inner conflict that Pierre faced - he knew people exploited his kindness yet wasn't vengeful, instead tried to help as many people as he could; the turmoil he was in due to Helene and because of the love between Andrei & Natasha, yet choosing kindness everytime. Pierre is my favourite and Paul Dano didn't disappoint at all. He was the best!
It is strange because the 2 main characters of the book namely Pierre and Prince Andrei are admirers of Napoleon at least in the beginning. At that time in Russia were there other nobles who admired Napoleon? Is this what Tolstoy wanted to say?
women in 1805 didn’t wear corsets, they probabaly wore stays because corsets weren’t rlly a thing. Anyways, there was a trend from around this time when women wore see through gowns, which was scandalized but still worn. Although I think that was in Paris and popularized by empress Josephine so it might make sense as to why it doesn’t fit in these Russian aristocrats
hate to admit it but i used to be a /pol/tard too, now I came all the way around and am converting to Judaism. I'll be completely jewish in the next two months
pierre is so wonderfully relatable. im very quiet until i get passionate about something political or something😂

"We could do with a revolution here!" Give it 102 years and Russian will have one of the most important revolutions in history. Pierre called it.
I dont think that Pierre wanted a Communist take over of Russia
Pierre is clearly of a liberal mindset not a genocidal commie one.
@@lennydale92 communists are not genocide , its liberals who were
@mikechrishill "Napoleon committed genocide" really?? Are you high? I'd like to try those drugs too.

The pre revolutionary Liberals basically just wanted Russia to be like the UK, nothing more.
Best Pierre of all times.
I don't know if the russian revolution was the type he had in mind
The February one he would have supported, certainly not the one in October
The revolutions are never going to be the type good people ever had in mind.
Paul Dano was brilliant in this role.
He's so relatable
the militaries step immediately into the conversation as they hear "napoleon"
We all had that stage of life where we admired a revolutionary or protest…
Pierre in this scene makes me feel things
He is such a good person but so pathetic. He is me

Napoleon was the kind of person you either love or hate. Nothing between. He has enemies and admires across all of Europe.
The tsar himself at one point
Russian nobles spoke French instead of native Russian, that's what Pierre was trying to address.
I really see Mr Darcy in Andrei.
This film so perfectt and amazing actorss❤🎬🎬❤
Helene is trafficstoppingly beautiful
I think that’s kind of the point.
I love Anna Pavlovna's gown❤, but Helene's dress is so provocative ( ¿where is her corset?
yeah, it's something out of the 1920's, including the flapper style headpieces, take you completely of of the scene it's so egregious

he’s so pretty
Was this during the first part?
Yes, right in the beginning of the novel.
