I did not know this. I have this memory of good tasting coffee. Snowy morning at a café in Stanley Idaho. My wife and I came in for breakfast during a fall camping trip. It was everything good coffee should be.
Ten years later I tried every brand I could buy with no luck. So I started roasting....no luck. I roasted and sold beans at the local farmers market, but could never find the right bean or process.
I would get these descriptions of coffee beans as "chocolatey with bitter mid flavor and traces of hibiscus". Order the beans and they were just boring.
Someday I hope to find that taste, but I'm not sure it had anything to do with the coffee.
