- Huge Military Parade Shows Poland’s Changing Attitude on Defense
Poland this year held its largest military parade in 29 years -- a display of strength aimed at neighbors Belarus and Russia and a sign that Polish attitudes on defense are changing in the wake of Russian aggression in Ukraine.

This formation with feathers on hats aren't historical. This is mountain riflemen unit, and their parade uniform refers to traditional highlanders style of clothes. Just made in military maner.
One of the legends says: An unspecified adjutant lost two fingers as a result of a shrapnel explosion. Despite his wounds, he reached the commander and saluted him with a bloody hand with two fingers, and then died. According to various sources, the commander was to be Poniatowski, Kościuszko or Chłopicki. To commemorate the heroic deed, this method of saluting was introduced throughout the army.
And with this salute, there is another funny story. When part of Poland was under Russian rules, Russian general said, that poles salut with two fingers, because they carry rock in hand, to throw it in him. ;)
I can confirm what someone already mentioned in the comment below:
Honour & Fatherland is what two fingers stand for 👈🏻
Jak mamy takich przyjaciół w Moskwie to się zbroimy.
