It was only after she started the inevitable descent (that happens to a lot of stars) that her life fell apart and she turned to drugs and alcohol to numb the pain and heartache.
Prayers don't feed the ego. They feed the soul. They may do nothing for you, but for some of us...it provides great comfort in times of sorrow. Don't dismiss what you don't understand. We all approach this world, this path, in a different way. Don't pray if you don't want to. But for those of us who do, it provides great comfort. Don't begrudge us these comforts. Life is so hard.

Mindy actually picked up the song about two years ago. I don't know exactly when she recorded it but it obviously was before her boyfriend committed suicide because he produced it. She heard the song by Courtney Dashe who wrote it and was performing it at a writers night and she asked to record it. She was given permission a couple of weeks later so I don't know why this man says he needed the recorded phone call to help get the rights to the song.
Such a beautiful and talented woman. I was never into country music and I'm still not. But I know a little something about depression because my wife & one of my daughters suffer from it. If friends or loved ones are trying to tell us something, it's important we listen. As humans, I believe it's our duty to look out for each other. Most people don't realize how truly powerful a smile, some words of encouragement or a compliment can be.

I'm retired now, and have learned to except more tough stuff. Drugs and alcohol just dull pain, but it is still there the next day. Living is one day at a time.

Suffering through something alone and not being able to handle it anymore isn't selfish. If you were really a friend of hers like you claimed, you would understand that. Yes, it's not morally the right thing to do. But who did she have to turn to? It doesn't sound like anyone. It doesn't matter if her family or friends could of offered physical help or not, but she needed at least a shoulder to lean on or cry on. I know what it is to be in her position. Severely depressed and feeling the overwhelming pain every day. Your life changes. You change. If it wasn't for my loved ones, I may of been left to my own devices just as she was. But she is not selfish and she is not a coward. And you. you're not a friend of hers.

However, you also take up for Billy McKnight the guy that was convicted for beating her up badly and was convicted of it and had to do jail time because of it.
