The Horseshoe route to Pen y Fan

  • Our first walk in the Brecon Beacons turned out to be very wet and windy. The plan was to complete the whole horseshoe consisting of Corn Du, Pen y Fan, Cribyn and Fan y Big but conditions and my friends knees playing up meant we just summited Corn Du and Pen y Fan.
This is our second walk of our twelve months of mountains challenge so if you haven't seen the first one watch that first the conditions were so different.
The post code of the car park is: CF48 2UT

Even though the weather wasn't that good , it was still an enjoyable walk, we really should do it again in summer so we can do all the peaks and actually see the views.

Totally and utterly nuts but have to admire your dedication, Gaz. Fun watching it from the warmth and comfort of my home with a steaming mug of coffee next to me, lol. Gobsmacked there were so many on the mountain in that weather but well done anyway.
I also did the Old Man of Coniston on a pukka summer day years ago, starting from Walna Scar car park and going the circular route via Old Pike and Dow Crag. A great walk and loved the views as far as the Isle of Man in the distance. I was a lot younger then though. Now when I visit Coniston, it's just to get the kayak out on the water.

Hahaha I bet it was nice and cosy with your hot coffee. Still really enjoyed this walk we are headed up the Old Man next week so upload should be ready for the week after. Thanks for your continued support on the channel I really appreciate it and I'm so glad you're enjoying the content. Plenty of summee trips to the lakes booked so might see you on the water.

You chose a right day for it. Mind you I imagine you got back down buzzing - these days kind of do that to you. The last time I was up there it was blowing a hooley but it wasn't half good. All the best. Mark

Yeah the best days are always the hardest ones. Our last walk up the Old Man of Coniston wasn't as wet and windy as this one. Thanks for watching Mark

The first video of yours i watched was the Naturehike' Manga?' tent review. There was no music in it and i loved every second of it. All sounds were natural. I dont know about others but i think that is what draws me to these sorts of videos, and music, specially just stock music when used outside of montages just ruins the immersion. Just a suggestion ofcourse but maybe you could have ASMR microphones and record the wind and the crunching of the ground under your feet and the furling of the tent and all that. I tried watching another video of yours but you had put music there over rhe sound of rain falling on the tent, which was kinda irksome. So yeah you do you but just a heads up that maybe pure nature is much better yk, good day mate

Thanks so much for the feedback I really appreciate hear g the opinion of you guys. My next video has only one piece of montage music and lots of nature sounds. If you could let me know what you think that would be awesome. Should be uploaded on Saturday.

Hi and great videos. What editing software do you use for the subtle zoom on your posts?
