Great flosstube Barb, thank you. I find your voice so calm; I listen, look and stitch away totally enjoy your it. Thanks all your time I can't imagine how much of your time it takes. I appreciate it.
Barb...thanks for another awesome podcast...congratulations on your two finishes...loved everything you shared with us...delightful seeing all the variety of patterns you are stitching.,,wishing you the best and happy stitching ❤❤
Beautiful finishes. I understand why you want to backstitch, it makes it more awesome. It is my favorite. But the lilacs from manning is as well a beautiful piece. Happy stitching!
Love the variety of projects you are working on. I believe I owned that ginger and space pattern back in the day but gave it away without stitching when I stopped stitching for about fifteen years. It’s wonderful to see it come to life. happy stitching.
Another brilliant flosstube! you're so good at these. i love seeing the Carolyn Mannings, those colours just come out so well in videos!!! amazing progress💕❤
If my floss is somewhat fuzzy I will run the strand over a lightly damp sponge and that usually calms it down. I enjoy seeing the variety of your pieces, especially the game board.
Your second video did not fail my expectations. I’m glad you explained your IG handle and FT name-I wondered about both. When I set up my IG account, I guess I fat fingered, so I have an ‘x’ at the end of my handle. I also haven’t stitched any of Karen Kluba’s charts, but I’ve had one kitted for years and I have ‘Tisket a Tasket’ ready to go too. I’m glad you explained how you use walnut crystals, as I’ve had a bottle for quite a while. And now I will be better about taking the time to like videos (which I don’t do a lot b/c I mostly watch on TV). I’m already looking forward to your next video.
Thank you for the kind words! I have Inspiration mostly kitted and even have the called for fabric, plus I own numerous other of her charts. They are beautiful but kind of intimidating!
I watched part of your video the first day you posted but just now finished watching the rest. Thanks for explaining your Stitch Brat handle. Very clever. You didn’t mention the “stew” part. I’m guessing it’s because of the variety of things you stitch. I’m interested in the Dear Jane aspect of Carol Manning’s design since I’m a quilter. If I did one it would be the closest I’ll ever come to actually doing a Dear Jane quilt. I am going to look into it. Haul sounds to me like a heavy burden one is carrying around. Jane and Julie of Running with Scissors with Jane and Julie call it Delightful Deliveries. My tiny topic suggestion is back stitching. I only started cross stitching in 2020. The patterns I stitch are newer so don’t have back stitching. However, I started a fancy lady last week from Bella Filipina that has crucial back stitching around the face and arms. I don’t understand how long the stitches should be. I really don’t know what I’m doing.
Hi Ann! Yes the “stew” is because of the variety of my stitching and also good alliteration!! Lol! Thanks for the topic suggestion, I’ll make note of it. You’re right that BS can make it break a piece sometimes and it isn’t always clear how to do it. I love Jane and Julie, somehow forgot what they call haul!!
Greetings from another Barb! I too am a fan of Carolyn Manning AND Jacob de Graaf. Jacob's Yule Cat is waiting in the wings, but I just started CM's Sunflower Symphony. Your Ink Circles piece is going to be spectacular. I absolutely love the floss you selected, and the black fabric is perfect. I have to admit I was relieved when you said it's aida. I may be able to face black aida one day -- my only experience with dark fabric was a navy blue Lugana, 1 over 2 on 28, but the floss was an overdyed cool gray. High contrast preserved my sanity. Coincidentally, that one was also from Ink Circles - "Reflections of New Orleans."
Yay to Barbs!! I gave up for awhile with stitching on dark fabric because I couldn’t see it well enough. Aida is the perfect solution because you mostly find the holes by feel. I was actually thinking of talking about this on a future video!
@@stitchbrat I think that would be a great subject, especially if you have any tips for finding the holes when they are already occupied by 1 or more threads. Oh, and when you have some suitable for a demo, I would be interested in seeing how you determine where to cut variegated floss to minimize abrupt transitions.
Great podcast, love the diversity of your cross-stitch projects. Specially the Dr King project… just subscribed, so I can follow your progress. Also,I’m a beginner, perhaps you can consider doing a beginner video on cross stitch terminology , techniques and linen fabrics.
I am so enjoying your videos. Your stitching is lovely, Had to laugh when I saw your Latin reference book as it brought back a memory from sophomore year at IU. A surprise exam after Thanksgiving required a piece, in Latin, of our holiday. There is no word in Latin for turkey, so I used "vera Magnus pullum"! (Really big chicken.) I received a bump in my grade for that because, I was told, trying always counts. I still remember that at 75 years old! Now....I think I want to cross stitch a turkey piece for Thanksgiving. Because trying always counts!
Your projects are all so wonderful! I'm wild about Carolyn Manning patterns, so it was a joy to see the ones you are stitching. The great big floral painting/stitching you are doing is phenomenal! Thank you for inspiring videos!
Kudos to you for stitching big complicated designs. I really like your Halloween Hijinx. I’m curious whether you have all of your works framed, and where do you put them in your house?
Thank you so much! I have some bigger or more special things framed, but I’m pretty bad about just putting most finishes in a box to be dealt with later!
Oh my…3 strands over 1 sounds saturated yes but slow going. I imagine you need to be careful not to use very long strands as you stitch to prevent fuzzing of the floss. You get a lot done in a short period of time. Wow.
I love the story’s behind user names, I changed my IG name several months ago and it has no meaning but the previous ‘maidinbelfast’ did…anyway, I enjoyed catching up with you, great 2nd update ❤
Great flosstube Barb, thank you. I find your voice so calm; I listen, look and stitch away totally enjoy your it. Thanks all your time I can't imagine how much of your time it takes. I appreciate it.
Thank you so much!!!

Thank you so much!!
You are a naturally terrific floss tuber. Everything about your approach and content is excellent.
Thank you so much, that is so nice to hear!!!❤️❤️
WOW YOUR FLOWER PIECE IS GORGEOUS. IF IT WAS MINE I WOULD FRAME IT IN A SUBSTANTIAL GOLD FRAME AND PUT IT IN MY LIVING ROOM.
Thank you, I will definitely frame that one when it’s finally finished!!
I’ve watched both of your videos and am so inspired. Nicely done!
Thank you so much!!

Thank you so much!!
Beautiful finishes. I understand why you want to backstitch, it makes it more awesome. It is my favorite. But the lilacs from manning is as well a beautiful piece.
Happy stitching!
Thank you so much!! Yeah, I just feel like backstitching on this particular project is necessary.
Hi from Colorado! Love your Prairie Schooler finishes! Thanks for another great video!
Thank you so much!!

Love the variety of projects you are working on. I believe I owned that ginger and space pattern back in the day but gave it away without stitching when I stopped stitching for about fifteen years. It’s wonderful to see it come to life. happy stitching.
Thank you so much! I’m pretty excited to finish that piece! I have some of her other florals too.
Another brilliant flosstube! you're so good at these. i love seeing the Carolyn Mannings, those colours just come out so well in videos!!! amazing progress💕❤

Excellent video...again! Thanks for sharing! Now on to video #3...
Thank you so much! ❤️💜❤️❤️
If my floss is somewhat fuzzy I will run the strand over a lightly damp sponge and that usually calms it down. I enjoy seeing the variety of your pieces, especially the game board.
Thank you so much! I’ll try that on the fuzzy floss, thanks!

Wonderful flosstube. Your projects are beautiful and very inspiring. Love when you give a bit of the backround history. Thank you

Thank you so much!! I will definitely consider a beginner video, or maybe I can add individual beginner topics into my Teeny Topic segment?

Thank you so much! I’ve had a few people comment on the Latin textbook!
Another great episode! Your floral project is absolutely beautiful. You have amazing stitches. Thank you for explaining about the walnut crystals. 😊
Thank you so much!
Your trick of cutting the floss for your birthday project is genius!
Thank you, it’s really working well!
I really like the Scrabble board.
Thank you!!

Thank you so much for watching!!!
What does “STEW” refer to in your handle?
Oh, I should have said that! My stitching style is eclectic so my channel is kind of a stew made up of all kinds of things!
