I enjoyed this video. I recently bought a regular super champ x2 for 200.00. Immediately replaced the Chinese stock speaker with a Weber CTC10 that I bought used in perfect condition for 30.00 and completely brought this amp to life. It made a remarkable improvement to the overall tone of every voice. I downloaded the Remuda SC software and like you did some deeper tweaking. Compression is a must for every modeling amp I’ve ever played through; and I’ve played through many. But this little Fender is easily the best once compression is added. It adds 3 dimensionality to the overall sound. Mids adjustment and sag and bias adjustments allow even more tone shaping. And don’t forget the cabinet sims! Most people like to only use the clean channel 1 and use it as a pedal platform. I think that’s fine, but for me there are a couple channel 2 voices that really shine. Voice 3 a 57 tweed deluxe dirty and compressed sounds incredible. Completely round tone with definite searing 5e3 characteristics. I’d say Fender got 80% of the way there. Which is impressive. Incredible touch sensitivity. Roll back the gain and it sparkles and purrs beautifully. Similar is voice 10 an AC30 dirty and compressed. Same thing here. Roll back the gain to clean it up some and it’s very impressive. Plus where this super champ really shines is when you crank the volume and get the power tubes cooking. Also, these modeled voices also take pedals extremely well. Just like channel 1! It’s really a budget tone chasers dream. And I have a funny feeling Fender caught wind of it and killed it. Why should someone pay $1200 for a Princeton reissue when they can get close for $400?
Great video. I have a Super Champ X2 and could never get the software to work on my MacBook either. Good to know it wasn't just me. Nice to see a demo of the software.
Hi! Can you overwrite any of the voices available stock on the amp? Like replacing the "Metal 2000" voice with Twin Reverb, or something more usable, so that it could be selectable by the voice selector on the amp, without actually connected to a computer? Can you overwrite the FX that come stock on the amp? Like replace the chorus + delay with tremolo + delay? thanks
LOL...I get the irony here...but....if you saw my list of 120 amps that I've owned, you will know that I really amp a tube purist! But I also enjoy the many benefits that the digital realm brings.....
@@KelsterVonShredster We all have that thought. I said the same and my wife says you play good. Got to love the missus lol. By the way. You do sound good. Don't be hard on yourself. I wish I was at your level.
Is it automatically applying those 2 rack effects to all the presets, making them not the actual presets anymore? Just checking. I just got my X2 and haven't hooked it up to usb yet. Wondering if there's a way to tell if the previous owner edited it with the software, and perhaps return certain voices to default if needed?
Exactly and it’s the champ circuit and can be cranked on the amp. So many more options for drive the clean edge of breakup I get out of channel one is totally needed
Great review and demo! I'm seriously tempted to get one of these. Do you know if the power tube bias pot can be accessed from underneath the chassis, like on some other Fender amps? Or does the chassis have to come out?

Thanks for watching and great points! This amp is long gone however. I think it was amp #130 if I'm not mistaken. I'm now at at amp #150 lol.
I'm looking at one of these at $200 local. Do you run a reverb padel in front? I've been hearing the reverb sucks as well as the delay.
I just acquired a Fender Mustang 3 100 watt for cheap.
I just need to find the proper USB cable so I can use the software
I’m liking the new set up. You’re really stepping up the production quality on your videos. Great job 👍

It won't run on a Mac... It will run on Windows though

"I'm a hardcore tone purist".. me too, love it. Keep up the good work, Mate. :)

@@KelsterVonShredster NO irony .. I was being serious. The X2 is at least a tube amp at it's core. 120 amps, wow .. i thought I had the sickness... ;)
@@miserychannel69 yeah dude...I'm a bonafide junky....got the monkey real bad!
You know some great riffs!
thx man! I think I suck lol

The cleans on this sound damn close to the likes of a Princeton or even a DRRi
this is a very good sounding amp!
Fender showed theyr true colors by discontinuing the fuse software..
2021 I still got the software up fender fuse there's a lot of empties that don't work no more. I use the fender mustang 1 amp
¡Thanks for this cool explanation!
