Yes she answered correctly, the question was would you create a lockdown or open the boarders. She choose lockdown and cooperate govt and people together. She didn't choose to open boarders because the question was either or.
I say this critique with utmost respect. I know this pageant is controversial because of two things: during the opening dance, Mexico had so much screen time, her position (at the middle) when dancing, she is almost dancing in all segments… unlike other delegates who get .5 to 2 seconds of shining time on the camera. The other is her Q&A: Did she answer the question? Yes Did she say it with confidence & conviction? No Did it made me feel connected with her/ is she relatable? No This is why people think her win is controversial. Congratulations to Andrea nonetheless.
Did anybody realised that the staff was so rude to Miss India when she was asking to make sure that the number on the card says ‘6’? What was the need to shout at her?
I think india's answer was perfect. Like adline said we indians has experienced the situation mentioned in the question first hand and the answer she gave is actually quite perfect. Most of the people that live in developed country won't understand the reason she answered like that. People are saying she played safe but in my opinion she just answered according to her experience and it was spot on.

Peru for me has the better answer...in the Q&A. The 5 finalists were supposed to be the cream of the crop... And in the final phase of the contest the Q&A determines the winner.

Perhaps, DR isn't confident in her English and that would have prevented her from speaking as effectively. I think india answered the question. The opening of borders here means the economy( international trade and commerce) not necessarily the travelling. Which is why she said balanced between the health and the economy. She cannot directly answer this question as an indian becos she will receive backlash both ways( yes or no). Backlash by media will led to your downfall in India. So it's not worth the risk. And same for Mexico. The lockdown has been an issue in these countries like India Brazil and Mexico. In India many people suffered due to the lockdown and many people die and govt was criticised for the harsh lockdown. So the support or against of lockdown will not be correct answer for both mexico and India. Lucky brazil didn't get this question. She would fail too looking at their country's condition due to mismanagement by their govt.
People don't know how much sensitive Indian government is regarding this kind of topic. India got both political and controversial topics. Adline could have been arrested if the government felt something wrong. That's why she kept both answer safe . Nonetheless we are proud of you Adline. Whatever she did she did all her heart . They say we shouldn’t question Miss Mexico’s win (even if her performance in the finals is meh and her answer to the final questions suck!) coz there’s a lot of things that happen behind the scenes that the public don’t know. Well, in that case, what is the purpose of the finals night? What is the purpose of the selection committee who selected the semi finalists to move on to the finals? If you insist on these rumors that Miss Peru has an attitude problem (which i don’t think is true), why did the judges selected her as one of the finalist? Those selected as semi-finalists should have equal chances on getting the crown and anyone of them is deserving coz the selection commitee screened and picked them. Now you’re telling me there is more that we didn’t see just because what saw in the finals was Miss Peru dominating the competition most especially in the final questions?! 😳😳😳
Miss Peru got by on an easy question. I would’ve loved to see her win too, but she seemed to have a problem engaging with the public which was a huge complaint with the press that kept trying to interview a lot of people pointed out that to her in person,

All the candidates have pretty faces and body figure and We all know who is well prepared I know that most of the viewers were expecting quality answer and more deeper meaning ,we want someone who stand out there with sincerity and the heart to show the universe that being crowned as Ms.Universe has it’s own way of showing total package and with those top 5 i know there is much better contestant who stand out more than what they can do

Hi. I dont understand. I thought when you say final 5, their scores are back to zero. Meaning the basis for the final ranking will be from their q&a and their final look. When you stumble from your final answer then your chance to win is over. Remember way back Meriam Quiambao who was the first runner, she did not delivered perfectly her q&a but she was so beautiful than the winner but then the winner answered the q&a better than Meriam. No hurt feelings from the result though but as a pageant fan, it could have been exciting to watch the Q&A if it was Ms. Australia, Ms. Puerto Rico, Ms. Philippines, Ms. India, Ms. Peru and or Ms. South Africa and or Ms. Thailand/ Ms. Canada.
Look at her at Miss World, same thing no improvement in Q&A. I mean Q&A has the biggest percentage on the competition and she is not even recognizable to have a spot at top 3. Cooking show after all they did not proceed to top 3 with only one question because they want Mexico to win

Disagree. DR made 4th RU because she completely missed both Q and As. First question she never properly addressed HOW she’d enact help, second question she also failed to address global poverty and instead focused on just DR.
Very unpopular view but, I always have this in mind, What if all the judges had same set of questions to ask the top 5? What If the questions were prepared asked according to the candidate and their country no matter which judged they picked? What if picking the judge number is just a formality? I felt like the questions were already fixed for all the top 5🤔🤔
I didn’t watch the q n a and final statements until recently. And I found out that Peru had the best answers. But I still would have wanted Dominican Republic to place higher because to me she had the most beautiful face and I love those eyes.

My God ... so many people speculating and yet they do not even know how Miss Universe is scored and determined. The final two rounds of Q&A, unless there is a cut to a final 3, are not scored. The judges based their choices on the answers and overall impression and also on their discretion. Another panel might have placed more emphasis on the Q&A...but even that this year they have the same panel for both prelims and semifinals, as in the years before 1997, Mexico must have made an impression on them that carried her through. So stop with this nonsense about the scores being reset to zero in the top 5 and the responses determine the winner etc etc etc. Stick with talking about Miss Earth as apparently that pageant placed an emphasis on the final question.

to put you in context Mexico´s president did not care at the start of the pandemic in his country, he asist to many activities withaout mask and he said that there were find, but it wasn`t. it was after that the president took the virus very serious and then mexico did a good job with the pandemic. it was a dificult question because she easly could said that the president is guilty and that is an attack, she live in a country with a lot of corruption so she couldn´t be that agressive. she tried to give a family frendly answer ,but she delivered a basic one. it was a dificult question for her and her country.
Miss DR was confident and eloquent but she said she didn't need a title. There, she gave away the crown to the other 4 ladies. MUO will never crown a girl who says she doesn't need a title. That's why she is 5th.
I don't think that's what she was saying. She was trying to inspire everyday individuals like u and me that u don't need a title or a celebrity image to make an impact. Regardless of ur staus and who u r, u can make a difference. Y wait till u get an opportunity like Miss Universe; start being a leader and taking up space now. Thus 'I don't need a title to help others and support them' is more of a call to action not a disregard of the Miss U title. Otherwise, y would she be here. Lol

Everyone who is saying Peru gave a better reply, can’t articulate How and Why? Miss Peru did better. Any of the 3 girls could have won, if the basis was the speeches or replies they gave in the final rounds. But they have what is called the Final Look scoring. Mexico with her Red Gown really looked like the crown belongs to her.
Rabiya Mateo performance is not eye catching on the stage. Very weak compare to other candiz. She don't even have the fierce look and confident when she was on stage that Miss Universe must have. So it is not surprising when she did not make it to the top
The Q&A according to our famous talk show host he give it 75% marks so it's not impressive at all only Peru give a good answer, some make it long, some thinking, some didn't give the right answer
Now a day's everyone thinks that they are experts just because they have watched a few beauty pageants. I have 20 yrs watching the Miss Universe , and every year is different. Sometimes the contestant that had the best answer didn't win....if they would crowned the winner for the answer then Venezuela, Puerto Rico, USA, South Africa for example would not have the crowns that they have now because some of them had very horrible answers and they still won. So the Q& A portion is not gonna give you the 👑 but it will give or take points from you, the purpose is to see how the future Miss Universe handles herself under pressure. Lets remember that the winner of Miss Universe is always gonna be surrounded by media and she needs to have " Poise" and that's what Miss Brazil and Peru forgot when answering their questions...as an audience we see everything , you can go back to the video and see for youself that when they were speaking they kept moving their hands....and that's a big no no no...that's not a quality of a Miss Universe. Either we focus while she speaks or on her body language ...

They knows how to speak Spanish, Old people there is very fluently speaking in Spanish that is there language in Zamboanga Spanish with the mixed of Portuguese. I don't believe that Rabiya didn't make it to the close door interview. Everybody knows Rabiya's capacity in answering the questions. I have this Conclusion that they truly blocked all the front runners in order for Ms Mexico to get that crown that is already planned before. Hi Luis. This is my comment. I still couldn't move on from the MU 2020 top 5 line up. No hurt feelings from the result though but as a pageant fan, it could have been exciting to watch the Q&A if it was Ms. Australia, Ms. Puerto Rico, Ms. Philippines, Ms. India, Ms. Peru and or Ms. South Africa and or Ms. Thailand/ Ms. Canada.
Look at her at Miss World, same thing no improvement in Q&A. I mean Q&A has the biggest percentage on the competition and she is not even recognizable to have a spot at top 3. Cooking show after all they did not proceed to top 3 with only one question because they want Mexico to win

What If the questions were prepared asked according to the candidate and their country no matter which judged they picked?
What if picking the judge number is just a formality?

My God ... so many people speculating and yet they do not even know how Miss Universe is scored and determined. The final two rounds of Q&A, unless there is a cut to a final 3, are not scored. The judges based their choices on the answers and overall impression and also on their discretion. Another panel might have placed more emphasis on the Q&A...but even that this year they have the same panel for both prelims and semifinals, as in the years before 1997, Mexico must have made an impression on them that carried her through. So stop with this nonsense about the scores being reset to zero in the top 5 and the responses determine the winner etc etc etc. Stick with talking about Miss Earth as apparently that pageant placed an emphasis on the final question.

to put you in context Mexico´s president did not care at the start of the pandemic in his country, he asist to many activities withaout mask and he said that there were find, but it wasn`t. it was after that the president took the virus very serious and then mexico did a good job with the pandemic. it was a dificult question because she easly could said that the president is guilty and that is an attack, she live in a country with a lot of corruption so she couldn´t be that agressive. she tried to give a family frendly answer ,but she delivered a basic one. it was a dificult question for her and her country.

I don't think that's what she was saying. She was trying to inspire everyday individuals like u and me that u don't need a title or a celebrity image to make an impact. Regardless of ur staus and who u r, u can make a difference. Y wait till u get an opportunity like Miss Universe; start being a leader and taking up space now. Everyone who is saying Peru gave a better reply, can’t articulate How and Why? Miss Peru did better. Any of the 3 girls could have won, if the basis was the speeches or replies they gave in the final rounds. But they have what is called the Final Look scoring. Mexico with her Red Gown really looked like the crown belongs to her.
Rabiya Mateo performance is not eye catching on the stage. Very weak compare to other candiz. She don't even have the fierce look and confident when she was on stage that Miss Universe must have. So it is not surprising when she did not make it to the top

Now a day's everyone thinks that they are experts just because they have watched a few beauty pageants. I have 20 yrs watching the Miss Universe , and every year is different. Sometimes the contestant that had the best answer didn't win....if they would crowned the winner for the answer then Venezuela, Puerto Rico, USA, South Africa for example would not have the crowns that they have now because some of them had very horrible answers and they still won. So the Q& A portion is not gonna give you the 👑 but it will give or take points from you, the purpose is to see how the future Miss Universe handles herself under pressure. Lets remember that the winner of Miss Universe is always gonna be surrounded by media and she needs to have " Poise" and that's what Miss Brazil and Peru forgot when answering their questions...as an audience we see everything , you can go back to the video and see for youself that when they were speaking they kept moving their hands....and that's a big no no no...that's not a quality of a Miss Universe. Either we focus while she speaks or on her body language ...

I would like to Request to have a reaction that Filipino knows how to speak Spanish and Portuguese it is in the place of Zamboanga Philippines the people called chavacano. They knows how to speak Spanish, Old people there is very fluently speaking in Spanish that is there language in Zamboanga Spanish with the mixed of Portuguese. Actually all Filipino knows how to speak Spanish but others don't know that they are speaking in Spanish

I don't believe that Rabiya didn't make it to the close door interview. Everybody knows Rabiya's capacity in answering the questions. I have this Conclusion that they truly blocked all the front runners in order for Ms Mexico to get that crown that is already planned before.
