I hope something does happen soon because the police station and court buildings are an eye sour + the people from the Joke shop and the stall holders from the market will have left all for nothing. So fingers crossed something dose happen soon, Thanks for the update.
Thank you Jane for the information. I hope that you will be proved right and something will rise out of the ashes. They should go ahead and knock down the courthouse and police station and put a temporary car park there. Like you have said in other videos they are times when Blackpool doesn't have enough car parks. I think that the coach station is a big embarrassment to Blackpool. A new bus and coach station should be built there, with a nice seating area, cafe, toilets and a shop. Xxx
Afternoon Jane, thanks for the update, doesn't look good does it., you never know though, probably just modernise the carpark and rebuild bonny street market, 😅😅. Thanks Jane.
Hi Jane. Another very informative video from you. It's a shame the developers have gone into liquidation, and the planned development for Blackpool Central have, for the time being, been put on hold. We had a similar situation in Wolverhampton when our Westside Development was scrapped, after the developer went bust. I'm sure something good will come of all this, and at least the old Police HQ & Courts Building are scheduled for demolition. Love visiting Blackpool, looking forward to visiting again soon.
Hi Jane thank you for another great video as always that police station looks horrible hopefully iit wont be much longer before it gets demolished so many changes happening in Blackpool have a lovely evening xx
They need to start carrying on the building work close the car park so people have to start using the multistorey car park. They can’t just leave it like it is.
Hi jane was the bloke referring to the police station looks like something out of the sweeney lol it's a awful building xx anyway nice to see u x Jo from west midlands i was the one who recommend the counting house the fish & chips are lovely there (fish & chip Fryday)
Thanks for the update Jane. I just hope that what ever they build it’s up to date and full of things that people want to experience and not a crazy golf and high ropes course.
I think the question is WHEN will something happen, eventually something will but it could be years away, when something does happen exactly what will it be? My opinion is it will be a very scaled down version of what has been proposed so far, but time will tell.
Hi Jane excellent video the bonny street market could of stayed open after all what a disgrace the poor market traders have been left with nothing and the area does need developed but they should of find a new home for the market trader's and the police station does need knocked down the development that was promised was excellent for the area more jobs for blackpool central and i enjoyed the history of blackpool central station and excellent history thanks jane excellent video take care from Keith 👍👍👍
Hopefully Blackpool council can still press ahead with the development and get a new development consortium onboard to fast track the plans. They could then call it The Phoenix Development.
Me and Maxine love Blackpool it’s our second home I like see to Blackpool get new development but not just tourist area but the back area of the town I know that it’s not just tourist who use places like the piers and tower locals do too
What's going to happen to all the traditional small hotels and bed and breakfasts. I have only been back once since covid became of health issues and a traumatic back injury with life changing changes. That happened Jan 2023 at work. It is such a shame for Blackpool all the news. Then there's the old Hearts store that's been demolished and all the shops that is all shut down that end. 😢
This is far from unusual for property developers nowadays. Budget accounting demands that firms like this need an amount of capital that provides for not just the next couple of projects but for contingencies arising from the increasing problems of dealing with toxic land, asbestos problems and so many other results of a different era offering complicated legacies. Capital health is a balance between contingency and shareholder satisfaction in many ways. For many years tenders have gone to the lowest bidder leaving well established businesses at a disadvantage. Often the lowest tender fails due to too many corners cut to keep costs down. We have architecture with lack of any character due to this and design failure leading to fails such as the Sainsbury store anent Blackpool North railway station has. This huge area will not see action for at least 3 years maybe whilst projects underway by the eventual developers are completed. Therefore why not think out of the box and have a temporary lease on the area for (say) a go cart attraction or similar so that use will be made of it that offers increased tourist presence. The go cart attraction at the side of the swimming baths was well attended. Less pessimistic outlooks and thinking out of the box. Not that difficult.
times are changing and it's good that blackpool is getting investment . It's been 38 years since I last visited blackpool . So I'm coming tomorrow for a few nights with my son can't wait
It's changed alot especially on Lytham road used be alot shops down that road but still like plenty to do it. If your son older ma Kelly's is good. Lots entertainment. On it north shore has alot pubs in it don't if much opened thru week.
@faystalker9851 he's only 13 lol so it's fish and chips , up the tower & tower dungeons . Arcades all the usual stuff and a trip down memory lane too Cleveleys. My grandparents had a holiday home there in the 80s lots of good memories
An events arena... Bring in world-class sporting events, artists, and bands. With the trams running from North Station to the prom and a coach stop nearby, transport isn't an issue. It'll bring more tourists too, I've regularly planned weeks away around concerts, and I know many that also do this.

Bonny Street market could've stayed open for a couple more years. It's just a empty waste of space now it's all gone 😕
Agree with you

Not that difficult.
It's just cystitis in Central Blackpool sadly, nothing more
Does the multi-storey car park have as many spaces as Central car park?
Half term seems to be getting longer these days as it used to be a week.
So is it not happening
