Let's see this, in the beautiful poetic/rhyming way it was described/Revealed.
Its melodious recitation, gives worried hearts a peaceful feeling.
بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the Name of Originator, The grandly Merciful, The precisely Merciful.
وَالْفَجْرِ ﴿١﴾
Definitely there will be Dawn.98:1
(The morning awaits you)
وَلَيَالٍ عَشْرٍ ﴿٢﴾
And by the 10 nights. 98:2
(After long period of darkness)
وَالشَّفْعِ وَالْوَتْرِ ﴿٣﴾
and by even and odds.
(By hard and easy times you experienced).
وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَسْرِ ﴿٤﴾
And Surely, this darkness passes off.
(Allah will surely, remove this tough/hard times).
هَلْ فِي ذَٰلِكَ قَسَمٌ لِّذِي حِجْرٍ ﴿٥﴾
And in this (examples) there are signs/lessons for thinkers/analyzers.
(The above verses demonstrate, how Allah designed this life)
After these verses Allah SWT demands/questions humanity, to analyze history and destruction of great powers.
أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِعَادٍ ﴿٦﴾
Did you not see?
How your Lord dealt with the oppressors (Aad). 98:6
إِرَمَ ذَاتِ الْعِمَادِ ﴿٧﴾
The one, who are identified by huge Places/Cities on great pillars they built.
Aad and Thamod are huge humans with 100 feets height, who carved mountains to build their large 120 feet long Rooms, now unearthed by Arabian/American archeological departments in different places in Arabia.
الَّتِي لَمْ يُخْلَقْ مِثْلُهَا فِي الْبِلَادِ ﴿٨﴾
And people like those, was never created again. 98:8
(very huge powerful people in Talmud civilization, they were highly skilled people)
وَثَمُودَ الَّذِينَ جَابُوا الصَّخْرَ بِالْوَادِ ﴿٩﴾
And after the Thamood those who live in plains. 98:9.
وَفِرْعَوْنَ ذِي الْأَوْتَادِ ﴿١٠﴾
And Firoon/Pharaoh, the man of established pillars. 98:10.
He built his kingdom/judiciary/constitution/defense, as strong as deep footed pillars.
الَّذِينَ طَغَوْا فِي الْبِلَادِ ﴿١١﴾
And he established injustice / mischief / divided people / Heavily taxed people in his land/period.
فَأَكْثَرُوا فِيهَا الْفَسَادَ ﴿١٢﴾
He was greatest in creating mischief 98:12
That is, in comparison to Aad and Thamud, Firoon created greatest mischief, by dividing people in castes and by economic status and killing male of weaker sects, to control their revolution/independence.
فَصَبَّ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّكَ سَوْطَ عَذَابٍ ﴿١٣﴾
Then your lord strike/lashed him with his might Whip 98:13
إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَبِالْمِرْصَادِ ﴿١٤﴾
Verily you Lord punishes, after a limit.98:14
And the chapter continues, highlighting the purpose of human and its life creation ......
