I’m Australian Filipino, at home we speak our language and when outside English. When I’m home I try my best to speak Filipino since that’s my mother tongue, I speak with proper Pinoy accent and diction. I don’t pretend to be someone I’m not. I think his accent and the way he speak is forced. If your granddad is from the UK and he frequently visits, you don’t “adapt” to his accent for a brief span of time. This guy interacts with fellow Filipinos so he would speak Tagalog more or English but not with British accent. Sorry but his singing voice and style is just trying too hard as well and he doesn’t seem sincere. No connection with his audience. If I were to vote, I would say NO.

Let's be honest, totoo namang it felt very unnatural yung pagkanta niya. Feeling ko may image siya sa utak niya of the aesthetic he wants to be as an artist pero di pa niya fully nae-embody to the point na natural sa kanya kaya ang ending like the judges said medyo nao-overmanipulate na niya yung boses niya, hindi na tasteful even sa style na peg niyang gawin. He definitely has something special, pero gaya nga ng sabi ng judges hopefully he can come into terms better with who he actually is and who he wants to be. Adding rasp and growls aren't really natural, singers should know how to execute it correctly or else "Hello to vocal nodules!" He has a lot of potential, I agree with Regine, it would ruin his voice if he's not doing it properly in the long run and I also agree with Moira she hopes he will find his "voice" and "authenticity". May part pa rin na parang hindi "natural". May potential siya sana he will find it.

I agree with Regine, I hope his style won't ruin his voice in the long run, utilising vocal distortions like growls is amazing if done properly, they do add power and emotion. He's actually impressive, just like what Moira said I am looking forward for more authenticity. Being visited by his "British Grandpa" (who knows how often) won't affect accent that much, it's either you were raised speaking with that accent or you actually studied it. Imma check this guy's music! I love unique styles and voices.

Its easy to see na fake yung accent niya. I can't knock on it, siguro it makes him feel more confident. But usually sa mga singers the accent does not affect the sound quality pag kumakanta na, if trained properly. Merong mga nasal speakers na nawawala yung nasality pag kumakanta na sila

He is definitely a "performer"--from the way he presents himself to his performance. I dont think acapella works for his style. His auditon was too "huge" and stylized for the song. Had he chosen maybe a Bruno Mars or a funky/soul song, it might have worked better.

I think the song choice was wrong. He has a lot of potential and I hope he's going to pick a song that fits his voice and singing style.
There's such a thing as oversinging a song and that's exactly what he did. May boses naman siya, pero with this audition, masyadong forced lahat, hindi natural. Oo kaya mo yan, pero need ba talaga isama lahat ng runs at acrobatics sa kanta? Nawawala yung message at yung connection sa audience eh. Kinda reminds me of a worse version of Lance from season 1 (plus a cringey fake accent).

He is definitely a "performer"--from the way he presents himself to his performance. I dont think acapella works for his style. His auditon was too "huge" and stylized for the song. Had he chosen maybe a Bruno Mars or a funky/soul song, it might have worked better.
