I went to Costco in Canada a few days ago and seen people fighting over Pokémon cards and didn’t have a clue what it was. Then they all left and Costco rolled out two more skids of the blooming waters 151. I have never owned a Pokemon card in my life but I watched grown men fight over them so I figured must be a good buy. Bought 20 boxes of them and there is no tax on them at the moment here in Canada so they were 68$ CAD each and I’ve sold almost of them on FB market place for 150$ per. I fucking love Pokémon now :)
Bro ty. I wanna get three boxes that's it!! 2 for my kids and one for me because I wanted to get a binder going for myself with 151 because of the nostalgia. Scalpers/Streamers ruin it for the general public. Sad man. Tha is for the video.
It’s the people who buy these prices from the scalpers that are the problem. Next in line are the scalpers. But as long as people are paying these prices the scalpers keep existing.
@@cryptoclyps5049 um no it’s exactly what I meant. The game is about collecting and trading. But a lot of the players are turning it into scalping and reselling. So yes, hate the players. I agree with @HenrysPokeCorner and I hope Pokémon reprints all of the sets to the point where everything reaches Funko Pop levels of discounts lol.
I started collecting in November last year, so still pretty new and I'm just absolutely amused at how people go rabid at sealed products. I've set up a goal for myself to collect only Bird pokemon as I love birds. I only go for singles to get the most bang outta my buck, but I have been tempted to open packs before only to be smacked in the face with scalper prices or higher than MSRP.
I know it’s strict at some places in Japan. Maybe it should be in the US too. You need a credit card for the store. 1-3 box max (all stores- you can’t just go around from store to store) thus the store credit card . No points can be used. Plus tickets for who can buy. 100 tickets and then sold out.
You need a membership for Costco which is more restrictive than just a credit card. If Costco wants these as in-store products as a draw to bring people into the store they need to do ticketing, but 151 is effectively always out of stock so it's not really an in-store traffic driver. Costco really ought to just sell these through their website, they sell out instantly and create issues for the in-store experience and staff.
@ a membership card isn’t as restrictive as a credit card is it? Since members can have guests, right? Also, a 3 box limit (not per store, applies to all stores)
Complains about people having a go at you for liking twilight masquerade but then saying 151 is mid? Listen I think we can all agree that everything is subjective when it comes to pokemon collection. If you don’t like it that’s fine but being a hypocrite isn’t a good look 👍🏻
I agree. DO NOT BUY FROM SCALPERS.
😃
What about local shops that don’t sale at msrp, but buy from said scalpers. Smh 🤦🏽♂️ the ripple effect goes on. It’s all a fight of the richest. 😢
@ local shops should have distributors.
@@PokemonSeannot all do. Trust me these scalpers that clean the big box retailers shelves sale to them.
@ what?
We hit 2 targets and 1 walmart looking for some packs for my 5 year old and didn’t find anything 🥹 my lil guy was bummed
This is exactly what I’m talking about. The kids come first always
DOWN TO THE SCALPERS!!!
🫡
Right there with you. SMH, Not like this. Frustrating. But we shall prevail✊ keep up the great content you’re grinding!
Thank you so much. Glad someone’s noticing 😊

Yesssir ! Ya man the scalpers and streamers have destroyed this market unfortunately

Unfortunately I agree. The hype for this set is real though , and it will test a lot of people as far as how long they can wait
I missed the early 2000s when I could buy 1st edition packs at the store without scalpers.
There’s still multiple languages that are awesome to open and cheap. As for English collectors… it’s bad
Blame Costco. They could easily limit 1-2 per membership. Handout tickets so people don't skip the line. And do this very orderly. But they refuse.
Absolutely true my friend
It’s the name of the game broski. Don’t hate the game, hate the player.
Exactly and understood! We gotta move and groove through the thick and thin!
Uh, you did it wrong (reverse last sentence).

Your collection must be super cool! I love when people niche down ! So awesome
Cool send me them non-birds k?
These people investors have absolutely no shame
While I am a Pokemon card player with my friend
I don’t think it’s just investors. It’s a combo of junk rn in the hobby.
I just got into pokemon pocket. I don’t have much time , but it makes me really appreciate the cards even more

@@David-ue7vv No, guests cannot make purchases at Costco. The member has to make the purchase themselves.
here in NY too
I bet it’s worse there! Lol
@@HenrysPokeCorner yup everything is bought out i can only get stuff from online and even then small amounts

If you’re new here , I LOVED mask of change from the common cards to the top hits. We value art around here. Nobody’s complaining, it’s just a take.
Sorry, but if you're also an 'investor', you're also part of the problem.
Investors in the Pokémon space have been around since base set. Sorry , but they aren’t the problem. It’s a collective of issues that came to this.
“A set so old and mid “ - makes a 15 minute video on it shut up bro please
U obviously have no clue how TH-cam works. Thanks for the watch! 😄
