Crabomination is at its best with Coveted Jewel. Cast the jewel, draw 3, tap it for BBB and sac it to cast Crab so your opponent never has the opportunity to steal it and draw 3.
yes! thanks for the follow up video. Got to play with the new cube last night and already got wrecked by the crabomination when they played it off jeweled lotus and hit my time walk off the top. Love it! :D
Really fun video, cool to see the cards that are going to make it in there. Will also be interesting to see which if any of the not-quite-there C-tier cards from either list make it into the cube as it changes over time.
One card I think is kinda strong that you didn’t mention is sawhorn nemesis. There are other cards that add damage like that but this is the first one I’ve seen that doubles not just non combat damage, like solphim, for so cheap In my cube, there’s a ton of burn and it can be pretty sick to play sawhorn and then fire blast for 8, or bolt for 6, or sawhorn go to combat, my goblin guide hits you for 4 and my Kari zev hits you for 6 That said a 4 mana card that needs other cards to do anything might still be too weak to mention
Pretty sure the interaction with satya+bombardiers doesn't work as lsv described, you cant use the broadside copys boast ability since it enters tapped and attacking.
Yeah, you're right. It's weird because boast is an activated ability that can be used if you attacked, not a triggered ability on attack, but 'if it attacked' in the actual game rules still just means if it was declared an attacker.
Worth noting that Eldrazi Confluence can also tap down attackers or blockers that are too big to get with the +3/-3 with the middle ability. The fact that if your opponent doesn't have anything going on you can still cash it in for 3 1/1's that can ramp is nice too. The card looks pretty strong to me, definitely strong enough for cube, but you'd need enough colorless rocks and lands to support it and LSV's cube doesn't seem to be there right now.
Tarmogoyf Nest isn't anything irreplaceable, but I think BK is underselling. Giving a land "{T}: Draw an uncounterable Tarmogoyf with Flash." is a reliable way to finish a game. And like with any card draw, if you talk about it in terms of how much mana to get to your next relevant play, it's going to sound awful. But Nest is one of the better mana sinks that exist. Single-card engines without interesting synergies or interactions don't make for particularly compelling gameplay, so I still agree with leaving it out of the cube. But I think it could battle with other fringe cube cards on power level.
@@traycarrot Yeah. I'd agree that this is just Retrofitter #2, except it has no interesting synergies going on. It's probably stronger than Retrofitter if your deck has no synergies, but it's also way less mechanically interesting.
Notable exclusions are Ocelot Pride and The Creation of Avacyn. Wonder what the rational was for not including based on positive analysis from main set analysis.
I know LSV was high on Creation, but I certainly hope Mashall's reaction to it in the LR set review knocked it down in his estimation. the card is way too slow, too easily interrupted in a spot that hoses you since you only get the payoff at the last chapter
Satya copying bombardiers doesn't allow the token to boast. Since the token comes in attacking the creature didn't attack and thus has not satisfied the requirement to boast
I do think Sink into Stupor is even better than Fell the Profane in Vintage cube. You almost first pick Otawara, Soaring City. Interesting Fell the Profane is not even on the radar.
Scuteswarm is not terrible, probably not quite good enough for vintage cube, however the reason it’s not mentioned is probably more that it’s not a new card, it’s from Zendikar 3
So what about cube owners who subscribe more to the BenS level of power? I prefer more 'balanced' cubes and pauper cubes but certainly enjoy mixing in some vintage cube as well. I think we can all agree that cube is best.
I love that we have a professional that's won 2+ 64 player cube drafts.
I think this could be a recurring format going forward. I really would appreciate this kind of content for every new set o special product.
I would love this.
Really enjoying this kind of "cube theory" content

Truue
Love BK content, you guys have great chemistry
Talon Gates + Uro is also a really awesome combo.
Great stuff. Really like the analysis.
Thanks guys
Exactly the type of content I've always wanted to see on this channel
Only now (at the end of the video) that I've noticed the jab at Kibler by doing Andrew BK Baeckstrom. Well done! =)
This is awesome content that the channel was missing, please keep it up for future sets!
Glad you’ve been having bk on so much, he’s been a great addition
Loved the segment about what you will be adding from the set overall

Love that you did a followup with these cards ❤
This channel is entering its golden years

33:50 the camera glitches here are on point
Love these, keep them coming 😁
I love these. Please keep doing them
I was waiting for this sequel! Let's go! Ready to upgrade my paper cube
Hear me out: Hideous Taskmaster plus Mutated Cultist to counter their Dark Depths and one shot them for only 4 mana.
My favourite thing that I want to do with Talon Gates of Madara is to put it in with Uro. That sounds so fun and kinda busted
23:33 When Talon Gates of Madara enters the battlefield, up to one target LSV phases out.

Yes! Card discussion and evaluation is great content!
Also, I hope you build a cube not oriented to maximize power someday!
Good cube changes. I hope wotc does something similar with the vintage cube
Barrowgoyf > Tenacious Underdog (why is that in the Cube)
It has to be intentional that BK's camera lines up with the C to F tiers
Keep the BK videos coming!
LSV trying to phase out reviewing Talon Gates of Madara is commitment
Is Sowing Mycospawn a regular draft rare? It wasn't in the set review in Limited Resources.
Seeing the tierlist on the side and not having the cards placed on it after being ranked wrinkles my brain
Please, LSV's poor camera can only handle so much. It's already straining under the weight of having two whole people on screen.
I can't wait to play these cards, amazing changes overall!!
Ocelot pride and Malevolent rumble are the only cards missing I'd like to play with
Love me some BK and LSV

It's weird to see LSV dismiss it so quickly given how highly he picks retrofitter foundry.

They're from the main set and not the commander set
@@vladimirberaud7054 I know, I was wondering why they haven’t included in the cube updates…

@@Silas_MN That was my initial thinking too. However, that being said I do think it has some powerful outs so I'm willing to give it a try in my cube.

What does BK stand for? Wrong answers only.
Brian Kibler obvs
2/2 for BB first strike pro white
Barry Keoghan
Built to Kill
Ben Kolby
Is scureswarm bad ?

BK is the people's champion
hell yeah
Fun video guys! Random Video Idea: Talk about who you think are some of the best players on the server, and what are their strengths and weaknesses
Set has Goyfs
Set has Gates
No card named Goyfgate?
Fail.
So what about cube owners who subscribe more to the BenS level of power? I prefer more 'balanced' cubes and pauper cubes but certainly enjoy mixing in some vintage cube as well. I think we can all agree that cube is best.
woooow mutated cultist in plz
Go birds
BK is kinda mid partially because of his takes on cards but mainly because he has an eagles hat on.
for the love of god get a new camera
That is wrong. We actually all hate BK.
I'm sad that we got a tierlist rather than an actual draft, again.
i am not
"again", saying that like you're entitled to anything
Same
Lol go cry in a corner
