I was ranting about this to my brothers about how good he used to be and now is trash. I was having a good time back then, I honestly felt unbeatable as conq.
@@Professor_POVFH you make it sound like he couldn't feint at all. He could still soft-feint in Full-Gaurd and/or bash, it really wasn't that bad. But you mean to tell me that Conq almost having his entire kit removed was a good trade off for the fact that he can now simply feint?
@@MrDespresso17 In the most recent rework for him, Conq gained the ability to Feint his Heavies and in chain bash, and become unblockable In-chain, Upper-cut and "Zone" from bash as well as a Bash follow-up after Zone. The abilities he LOST were the ability to "Wall Splat" from In-chain Bash. Soft-feint into Bash from Heavy. Superior Guard on his Neutral and Charged Heavies were removed. He lost his Soft-feint into bash while Charging his Heavy, lost his Full-guard infinite Zone of course. Removed Bash from Full-guard too. They removed everything special about him to only give him this goofy "Meta" move-set instead, and it's really frustrating. If you're wanting to know about his previous patches BEFORE all this though, I can't really remember much else other than Devs trying to nerf his Light-Spam by slowing down his Follow-up lights thrown from the same direction.
@@freshgojimans1596 Honestly, the Soft-Feint-to-Bash from Neutral normal or Chain Heavies sound like it would've been a nice addition, i recalled that Shugoki used to have the same thing. The Bash from Full-Guard sounds unnecessary to remove, though i don't know the context behind the removal of the thing in the first place. I saw that one of the footage pieces have Conqueror have a sort of Crushing Counter while doing a Charged Heavy. Or was that Superior Block? Either way, i'd love for Conqueror to have Superior Block / Crushing Counter on Charged Heavies as that'd give the move purpose, because i don't know about you but that move just seemed useless when you can just Bash to get to your Chains faster and more effectively. Though, perhaps not Superior Block / Crushing Counter on raw Neutral Heavies, i feel like that'd just make Conqueror as the second Hitokiri in the game. Not too sure what to think on the Soft-Feint-into-Bash from Charged Heavy, but one thing's for sure: the fact that they removed the helicopter move. Come on, man. That was one of the things that immediately made him unique and wacky.
@@MrDespresso17 Yeah, I understand your skepticism, Conq having superior guard on his regular heavies may sound really intimidating at first but it was only on his Stater heavies unlike VG or Afeera. In Words Conq's old kit sounded broken but in reality it took a lot of guts, smarts, and discipline to play him efficiently.
@@freshgojimans1596 I suppose i'd have to see footage of that raw Neutral Heavy Superior Guard thing in action but personally i still remain skeptical about the idea. I mean...again, risk of Hitokiri. In any case, i may not be a firm believer that all of Conq's old stuff should be brought back but i am certain that a lot of Conq's old stuff can be repurposed for the game's current state.
Guys c'mon, the current one isn't that bad, his all block recoveries are so satisfying, like when you land the light attack after all block on like 3 people 🥺. He does need a lot of tweaks tho 😭.
In my opinion they should just bring him back like he was (maybe let the unblockable be as fast in charging for easyer superior blocks) and he would be perfectly balanced, due to everybody now having some kind of unblockable or bash he would still perform well but wouldnt be as broken. And I would also enjoy playing this game again because no other character is as fun as he was
I'm with you 90%. I feel like they should just do a full revert even leaving out the Unblockable chain Heavies. They feel cheap and Conq could handle himself well without them. This whole "Get to your Unblockables" Meta is a disease, just like the Bash Meta before it.
@@freshgojimans1596 real. I still cant grasp why they decided it would be a good idea to give a character with a flail, a totaly blockable weapon unblockable attacks it makes no sense. But even besides from real life he had a super unique chargeable unblockable and it now feels like nothing special in his kit
I got 13 reps in conq before the rework, i think i probably have gotten 2 levels in him afterwards. They really butchered his characters uniquness and it sadens me.
Almost. To be fair, new Shinobi isn't all that bad. Was old Shinobi special? Yeah! Especially with his Ranged heavies and smoke dodges; But he also felt kinda' clunky. It would be a different story if we were referring to a Heavy, but Shinobi being an Assassin, I think losing his ranged Heavies and a few nerfs' elsewhere didn't hurt his kit too bad considering his better fluidity makes him much smoother around the edges. Although I still don't agree with the Devs removing his Bleed damage. Every-to-most Assasins should be able to apply bleed in some shape or form.
@@Sam_Hyde_Apologist well, considering we all have different opinions, I'm 50/50 with you. I never really liked jorm in general, but I much preferred old over new Jorm. At least back then Jorm had a more fulfilling role: Drain the opponents Stamina to give an opening for big damage. Granted it was still very annoying and Oppressive but it enticed an unique-ish playstyle none the less. Now Jorm is just "Whale on your Opponent with numerous Unblockables until they die or give up" because that is the ONLY way to play him and is so simply braindead, it's aggression with no goal when they nerfed his Stamina damage. Don't get me wrong, I'm not ragging on Jorm players; It's just Jorms style had been pretty Diluted and simplified because the Devs couldn't seem to make up their minds on how to Balance the broken Stamina punishes.
Can we start a petition to get old conq tech back? ( it’s probably won’t do anything)
Yes I miss old conk
Full block zone I’m here for it 🎉
I miss the helicopter
BRING BACK MY BOY, PLEASE

The feints though, and unlockables
@@mrchessmaster809 Yeah, those too
both shit compared to fun old conq gave us

Conq was my main back in alpha, I miss old conq not this unblockable spamming bot
BRING HIM BACK
Now that zones cant parry I dont see any problem with his old zone. That was the only thing about him I thought was aids.

It’s funny because he would be unironically worse than he is now
