I STRONGLY encourage you all to buy the full mix of this. I’m aware these are strong words, but it’s truly one of Tim’s best tracks he’s ever made. Tim, you’re the GOAT
Mate. I am lost for words. I only stumbled across barbershop in the last couple of months through the Ringmasters Notre Dame Medley getting recommended to me on youtube, and holy balls have I been on a trip since discovering what this absolutely stunning form of music is. This channel alone has unbelievable stuff on it, it honestly is one of the things that brings me the most joy right now hearing you and others be able to so perfectly lock your voices and produce such true harmony and resonance. I will sure be sticking around in listening and hopefully partaking in barbershop for a long long time. The quality of your tags and vocal skill are absolutely off the charts. Thankyou so much for making these free to view, I very well might go and purchase this or maybe the album off your website soon as so many other people here are suggesting. Wow man, thankyou so much
Thanks so much!! I love that you’re enjoying barbershop. It really is awesome. The best part of it is participating in it. The opportunity to hang and sing with friends is the absolute best! So I hope you dive in and start singing some bbshop! Happy to help you with that. Thanks again!
@@TimWaurickMusic I have a tag recommendation for you called the santa fe tag. See if you can ask the quartet first take to let you make a copy of the tag.
Tim is one of the best in the world, if not *the* best I've heard.. You may wanna check out these pieces from Vocal Spectrum - "Aladdin Medley", "When I see an elephant fly", "Go the distance", "Good Vibrations", "What child is this", "Music of the night", "I wanna be like you", "Believe", "Tonight, tonight", "Cruela DeVille", "Be our guest", "Scarborough Fair" , "Santa claus is coming to town", "It's you", "Headless Horseman", "Lullaby", "Bring him home"
I have listened to Crossroads singing this song over and over - probably 300 times. I never expected it to be topped (and it’s still not in terms of a Live Performance). Yet the tuning on this tag is so flawless as to add another level. I’d say this equals the brilliance of Crossroads, which is something I never expected to say. Now we just need Tim’s version of Notre Dame medley and I’ll be in Heaven.
What barbershopper hasn’t sung “behind?” This brings back so many memories of SPEBSQSA quartets that I have been privileged with sing with. Absolutely fantastic.
2009 International was the first one I experienced (though it was via the livestream). When Crossroads sang this--the song of the contest--I remember thinking to myself that nobody should ever sing this song again. I still feel that way with respect to contest, but Tim has paid tribute to this legendary moment in barbershop history like only he can. Thank you, Tim, for blessing our ears with this masterpiece.
My dad ( Bobby Crist) showed me this song. It was my grandfathers favorite. And with his passing this week, this song keeps getting me through it. Thank you 💞
Whenever I start listening to Tim’s stuff I think “it’d be great to do that”. Magnificent harmonies and his learning tracks are the best. Then he does a 40 second post and I realise I’m dreaming. Tim, is the Barbershop GOAT.
I got a feeling this was the track people wanted Tim to cover the most and by god he delivered. So smooth and distinct, only the way he could deliver. Haven’t stopped listening to it all day
Absolutely unbelievable. Just unreal. I’m a professional musician, conductor, and former singer… this makes me think I’m in the wrong field. This is absolutely stellar.
Absolutely flawless and you obviously are enjoying this one. YA'LL Order Tim's newest album Fly Again! Seriously great album. Do t know if you can really wear out digital recordings but I'm gonna try. Bravo Tim.
I've purchased hundreds of TimTracks full mixes over the years but That Lucky Old Sun is one of my absolute favorites, I still remember where I was sitting when I first listened to this song on Features! The F#5 overtone is the loudest overtone I've ever heard on a studio recording to this day! I completely concur with Niko Porter that this ESPECIALLY is a must-buy from Tim's vast collection. Recordings like this can you make you forget that this comes from a learning track of all things, a true testament to Tim's work ethic and his desire to raise the bar for the entire learning track market. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna play the full mix of this on repeat until next week's TimTag comes out...
Wow. The best version of this song I've ever seen is by the legendary quartet Crossroads. And you've nailed it. I am so imprressed!! This video should have 10 million views.
I've was obsessively listening to the Crossroads recording of this song this weekend, and just *yesterday* thought "I wonder if Tim will do this one for Tim Tags someday!"
A number of years ago, TH-cam showed me the legendary 2009 Crossroads performance. As a hobbyist trumpet player, I was struck by the intonation, tone quality, balance, blend and the energy of the performance, which translates to the recording remarkably well. Well, that video was followed closely by Vocal Spectrum's own iconic recording of Go the Distance. The sustain in that tag sent me spiraling into watching barbershop all the time, and today I keep a lot of it in rotation - Notre Dame, 76 Trombones, This is the Moment, etc. So, when I saw this pop up, I was pleasantly surprised. What a treat. Thank you for this, Tim!
