@noemibarrios4056 yes if you are watching it directly from the original source. We do not know if this is a VHS vs DVD or how it was uploaded onto TH-cam. If you watch an old VHS on a VHS player and use a TV that isn't widescreen/HD enabled etc the quality will be quite a lot better than to watch it after it has been recorded onto a device and then shared and watched on televisions that are more modern. The internet has made it worse too & raised more awareness to how much crime and evilness is around.. This movie was in the 1990s.. 1986 is when the actual crime took place.. I was 13 then. This is a true story, keep that in mind. Although the quality of a movie has changed, the quality of life in the United States is certainly not the same quality as it was 30 Years Ago.
The quality of life may have changed for many, I’m not sure as my mom worked two jobs to keep a roof over our heads and we still struggled to buy food and pay the light bill, however, there are not 600,000 people missing and murdered in the US each year. Out of the average 600,000 missing person reports each year, 99% are resolved. 30 years ago was the same. In 1985 they were concerned about the number of abductions being reported by various groups causing panic in parents and negatively impacting how children are being raised. @ Yes they went to school. I’m thankful that when they did, people like him weren’t so prevalent. This guy in this movie was looking for the opportunity. Once, my husband let our son go over to the neighbors house and I freaked out on him. One important reason for doing so is because they had no children.
We all do. Our brothers, fathers, mothers, nieces, cousins, neighbour's, teachers, babysitters....no one raises their kid alone, no one is 24h a day with their kids. Even your husband was a stranger when you met him. These people are great actors and can hide their true identity and place a facade that seems trustworthy. Our kids were safe, not because we were more vigilant, but because we had the chance to not have one of these people around or if around, chose our child, or teen or who ever. In this world there is evil everywhere, not only in bad neighborhoods or at night or even with strangers. We can do our best, pray for protection, but in the end, we have no power. Helicopter parent...we need to stop over-protecting our kids. Do you come with her to her classroom and sit with her all day and follow her around at recess?
@@magdalenaarmijo68 Not really...crime has actually dropped in recent years. The media and internet, though, makes it seem as if all the world is this hideously dangerous place.
Right. Me and my wife watch all our kids all the time. If they are outside so are we and they can't go out of site. This was different times but still happened. There's a 7 year old ..well 8 as of today ..that walks around the neighborhood alone..she's so tiny . we watch her whole she's out but when we aren't out there she just is out by herself. So scary. Barely let our 16 year old out of our site. Good thing is we don't censor things for them and they understand why we are so protective. It's not that we don't trust them but we don't trust others
I don't care how safe is the neighborhood, a six year old should not be out of an earshot or eyeshot of his parent or an adult. Too many people rely on their neighbors to keep watch on their kids playing on the street. These innocent's, boys or girls are prey for sexual predators My kids were 13 and 14 and I drove them and their friends to the movies, baseball games, park, mall etc and picked them up after, call me overprotective but they are alive today in their 30s and 40s
@scottw6704 . There is or was nothing normal about letting a baby who has no means of protecting themselves out on the streets alone. It's an excuse your parents fed you to justify their negligence.
@scottw6704 . When they are able to differentiate between right and wrong. That's when. And no six year old is capable of that. They are vulnerable and predators know this.
@@Martin-vq6hz Oh come on, there is a middle ground you know, somewhere between a six year old who can't even ride a bike properly being sent off up the road alone and a complete couch potato. How about getting off your backside and taking your kid to the park for instance? Setting an example is good.
The quality on my phone on TH-cam is 💯 percent brilliant. Could be your laptop or phones . Rest in peace sweetheart, very sad 😢😭 hope you have best place in heaven ❤😊❤😊❤😊
I cant stand people saying lazy parenting. Like it or not it was a different time. Bad things have always happened. . I grew up in the 70s. My mum was a housewife but still we used to all go out on our bikes from a really young age. We all looked after each other and knew each other like these neighbours .Abductions were/are rare. Its a terrible thing but the only people to blame are the pervs . We had a wonderful childhood.
So said to etch this movie but greatful to is is for us to learning our kids and grandkids to be aware of anything what happened around them am watching this movie and learning my grandkids and great grandkids to be aware of everything thing God bless that lady
I was born at the end of 1966 and although growing up I had a lot of freedom to go out and play, my parents would certainly not have let me out on the roads on a bike at the age this child was (what is first grade, about five?), especially before I could even ride it without stabilisers. I wasn't allowed to ride my bike on the road until I'd passed my cycling proficiency test when I was about nine or ten. If that was the case back in the seventies surely it wasn't normal just a decade later for little girls to be sent out of the house by themselves on a wobbly bicycle in the vague hope that they'd reach their destination?
"cycling proficiency test?" Never heard of that. Usually your parents teach you. I taught myself when I was like 7 or 8. Things were so much more lax when I was growing up. Miss the good ole days!
It wasn't compulsory or anything, we all did it at school and were happy to because we got a badge to put on our bike and a certificate. This was the 1970s as I said, which were my good ole days so it's definitely not a new invention. Of course our parents got us started on riding a bike and then playing with our friends did the rest. We were already pretty adept at charging about, doing wheelies and riding with our feet on the handlebars by then. Cycling proficiency was more about knowing the Highway code, making sure our bikes were roadworthy and that we had lights etc. We also did exercises such as balancing the bike while stationary without putting our feet on the ground, weaving in and out of cones and stuff like that to make sure we had good balance and were fully in control of our bikes while giving hand signals and checking behind us for traffic before making turns. It was all designed to make us aware of what was going on around us, to let other road users know what we were doing, foster a responsible attitude when exposed to traffic and to not be so wobbly that we fell off in front of a bus!
In the 80s it was normal and actually safe 99% of the time. With so many neighbors, all who knew each other... it was very rare to have someone THEY ALREADY KNEW have this messed-up dark side. It's a different time now, for sure.
It just shows that just because neighborhoods LOOK like they’re safe, doesn’t mean that they are. It pays to never be too trusting. Especially with your kids.
Always keep an eye out on your babies! It's so sad & scary that there's sickos that are all around & we never know who. This is a good movie. I kinda knew from the beginning who did it
Good movie but someone would have to be pretty stupid to do the same thing twice in the same neighbourhood, especially when someone is already accusing them 🤷♀️
Such neglectful and lazy parenting, it drives me insane. A 6 year old back in the 60's, 70's or 80's are no different from a 7 year old today. They are not equipped to deal with adult situations. They are vulnerable and make very easy targets.
thats fact. it was in 1970s i was snatched right off the school playground in broad daylight. evil can happen to children any time. always been that way
You're absolutely right! My kids grew up in the 80's, and they were never allowed to go off by themselves at 5 and 6. In fact, even at 7 and 8, we always went to the park together. A lot of parents don't watch their children these days. Look at all the 2, 3, and 4 yr-olds that wander off, and are found drowned in a pool, or 2 or 3 yr-olds that are run over by their own parents, hurrying to leave the house. Who was supposed to be watching them? I cringe whenever I hear about these horrible news stories, so I know what you mean. Have a good day.🌞
@@heatherann1560 Oh FGS I know that. The whole point of movies is to make you suspend disbelief. The whole point of acting is to try to make you believe in their character. Don't you think a little realism from the director and the make-up artists would help? 🙄🙄🙄.
I grew up during the 60's & 70's, and my children grew up during the 80's & 90's, and there's ALWAYS been kidnappings. And now, more than ever, it's scary to leave your children alone, teenagers too, because of human trafficking that sell victims for prostitution!! All parents should have talks with all their children.
For some reason I hated that there were so many assumptions that she was either hiding from everyone or just decided to go AWOL and wasn't possibly kidnapped yet still alive. (That was the most important thing, of course. And furthermore, whoever's watched 2011's Gone, also made for TV, starring Molly Parker and Lochlyn Munro will know what I'm getting at.) To cut a long comment short, you don't "tan a child's hide" for someone else grabbing them out of nowhere and holding them for ransom, do you? Too much talk of punishing the victim!😡
Now I have not watched the movie yet and I don't know if I will because there's no description and being an older lifetime movie tells me. There's probably violence in other things and I'm trying to avoid that these days. So I may not watch it but that asidei'm reading comments that people are complaining about the quality of the film. Okay. Well, first of all, this is free. We're watching something for free okay. Second of all, I'm from a generation who still remembers having a 13 inch. Or smaller black & white TV with only 2 knobs on it and a button, and we only got 3 stations. And if it came in, it came in if it was snowy and you had rabbit ears.Well, you got the best he could get OK.Ay people are too spoilt today, grow up, enjoy what you have appreciate what you have. There are many people around this world that don't have things like that, they don't have luxuries.Your TV, your computer, they're all luxuries.Appreciate what you have , some don't even have water or clothing
This is the true story of a distraught mother who turns to the cop next door after her five-year-old daughter is murdered. She comes to the terrifying conclusion that the killer is someone she knows.
You are absolutely right! ✅️ I appreciate your thoughts. I am from the older generation as well (I miss those TV sets!). It's true. These days, people don't appreciate what they have... they want more and more objects, because that is what they value in life. Try to tell them that there are people in other countries that have absolutely nothing, and they'll just wave away their hand at you and walk away! Well, I guess I'm getting too dramatic here!😅Have a good day, and God Bless You❣️ ✨️🙏🕊✝️
@tvigil880 No I greatly appreciated. What you said wasn't too dramatic at all. In fact, you reminded me of a phrase that people used to use all the time in an early 90s. Late 80s around me waving their hand saying, talk to the hand talk to the hand that always annoyed me so much. God bless you and you have a beautiful day.
So many of our parents let us ride bikes alone around the neighborhood, especially in a trailer park like this. I walked to school in first grade, it was over half a mile
@@Tamara-id1pe well you had irresponsible parents that didnt care what happened to you! You are lucky that you didnt get kidnaped cause you it does happen. Back then and now. I would never let my kids out of my sight.

Helicopter parent...we need to stop over-protecting our kids.
Do you come with her to her classroom and sit with her all day and follow her around at recess?
@@magdalenaarmijo68
Not really...crime has actually dropped in recent years.
These innocent's, boys or girls are prey for sexual predators
My kids were 13 and 14 and I drove them and their friends to the movies, baseball games, park, mall etc and picked them up after, call me overprotective but they are alive today in their 30s and 40s
That's just it, there are and never were safe place's. Predators are everywhere and usually in your home.
@jeanettehinds4253 So true. One could be sleeping with the enemy😥
At that time, it was perfectly normal for kids to be out running around their neighborhoods all day - our rules were "just be home by dinner time".
They are vulnerable and predators know this.
well don't let your kid go ride off by themselves on a bike
Exactly keep your child locked inside watching video games until he's 20 yrs old ND brain dead
Mine too
Quit complaining. Thirty years ago we used camcorders and VCRs.
I miss those VCRs!! I miss recording TV shows and movies off the TV set!! Those were the days!!😅
Quit being a fool. Those videos were clear. This one is mud and has nothing to do with what it was recorded with or on.
Same here even my son in the late 80s early 90s
Not any More😮😢
I love Markie Post!! RIP.
Good 👍 thanks for sharing this movie.
things were a lot different back then. Now they are cracking down hard cause anybody can hurt or bully people
So said to etch this movie but greatful to is is for us to learning our kids and grandkids to be aware of anything what happened around them am watching this movie and learning my grandkids and great grandkids to be aware of everything thing God bless that lady
Some of ya’ll weren’t born before the 80’s. And it shows lol 😆
Hey, hey 1978 here, lol
I hear ya!
These movies are why I never left my son anywhere or with anyone
How old is your son?
Love these old movies
Ack...it's a kick in the stomach when someone refers to 90s as "old" lol
He always plays the bad guy in these lifetime movies
Except he didn’t in 1995’s The Stranger Beside Me.
@ScottNapolitan that's rht..he only played the one time a good dude
Eu chorei junto com essa mãe. Quando uma mãe perde um filho (a) todas as mãe sente a dor .
True it is 😢😢😢
Avery good movie and an eye opener
Good movie with great actors. 🎉
I love the old quality ❤
Marilee was so cute. And she didn’t deserve to die!😭
That’s how I know your still a baby if you’re complaining about the quality of the videos/youtube movies
We can watch and old movies still happening in our world today read the news and see what happens in this world
The tiny coffin was so sad.
Si que tenía serios problemas mentales ese tipo para quitarle la vida ala pequeña
Oh man, another Lifetime movie, not a teenager anymore............................ all alike! yuk
So that was Marilee on the thumbnail. (This is my first time viewing the movie from when she’s still alive.)
Your s meanest enemy is near you. Piia from Finland OY.
👀
They said a 'cream colored Dodge' when his car is a "Ford"...
After they found her I was too scared to watch it. 😢
Love Gerald Mcraney
It was the guy that went passed in the car when the mother and daughter went by it
Thankyou for sharing
Why would any mother let her daughter just ride of like that
It's called negligence
In the 80s it was normal and actually safe 99% of the time. With so many neighbors, all who knew each other... it was very rare to have someone THEY ALREADY KNEW have this messed-up dark side. It's a different time now, for sure.
At 5 years old in 1985 I was always out on my bike.
I kinda knew from the beginning who did it
Good movie but someone would have to be pretty stupid to do the same thing twice in the same neighbourhood, especially when someone is already accusing them 🤷♀️
Markie Post a good actress and liked her in Something about Mary.
Thankyou x
Wow he was acting suspicious the whole time . I wasn't surprised at all. I'm glad she was able to save her.
She was murdered
Great movie!
RIP Markie Post.
Have a good day.🌞
Or the 90s. Which is when this was made. Id never let mine do this
Good movie, Thank You.
Been looking for this movie .
Thanks for Sharing!!!
R.I.P Markie Post 🕊️
Great film. No problem with the adverts I just skip them. New Zealand
If my daughter was missing and then found murdered I very much doubt I'd have such perfect hair and make-up throughout my ordeal!
It's a movie these aren't the actual people 🙄
@@heatherann1560 Oh FGS I know that. The whole point of movies is to make you suspend disbelief. The whole point of acting is to try to make you believe in their character. Don't you think a little realism from the director and the make-up artists would help? 🙄🙄🙄.
It's always that same ol station wagon in all these old movies 😅
We didn't have SUV'S in the 80's, we had station wagons as family cars.
Good movie
I was 11 when this movie came out
That's a very bad sicko
I remember Harold Sylvester best as Pete Blanchard from 1987's Innerspace.
Why would you let a little girl, that small, go off riding a bike by herself in the first place? Sorry, I blame the mom!
I completely agree. I would've NEVER let my children go off walking or riding by themselves at age 5.🤦♀️
My mom let me go play when I was her age. In fact, we weren’t allowed inside until lunch time or dinner time. It was just a different time back then.
Halloween 1987 that's win i was born
Wthell, I was just watching crime of innocence and this started.
😂😢 very touching movie.
Yoooo😂
For some reason I hated that there were so many assumptions that she was either hiding from everyone or just decided to go AWOL and wasn't possibly kidnapped yet still alive. (That was the most important thing, of course. And furthermore, whoever's watched 2011's Gone, also made for TV, starring Molly Parker and Lochlyn Munro will know what I'm getting at.)
To cut a long comment short, you don't "tan a child's hide" for someone else grabbing them out of nowhere and holding them for ransom, do you? Too much talk of punishing the victim!😡
Market Post rip🎈🕊️💓❤️🩹🎀🌹🥀🙏💯‼️
@fmthe Thank you very much, God bless you
@ Same to you!
You are absolutely right! ✅️
I appreciate your thoughts. I am from the older generation as well (I miss those TV sets!).
It's true. These days, people don't appreciate what they have... they want more and more objects, because that is what they value in life. Try to tell them that there are people in other countries that have absolutely nothing, and they'll just wave away their hand at you and walk away! Well, I guess I'm getting too dramatic here!😅Have a good day, and God Bless You❣️
✨️🙏🕊✝️
@tvigil880 No I greatly appreciated. What you said wasn't too dramatic at all. In fact, you reminded me of a phrase that people used to use all the time in an early 90s. Late 80s around me waving their hand saying, talk to the hand talk to the hand that always annoyed me so much. God bless you and you have a beautiful day.
this is my first time seeing this movie and im currently still watching as i type but i feel the moms bf did it
What parent just lets there child go off on her own and not know where they are?? No way I would have ever let my kids do that at that age.
This was based on a case from the 80s, it was a different time, and close-quarters neighbors like this were basically like a parenting community. We all were outside all day doing whatever, wherever, we just had to be home before it got dark.
yes very good movie. that is why a lot of cases go cold and unsolved because cops suffer from tunnel vision. they are anxious to solve a case they waste time chasing wild geese
I hated that he was the bad guy because I love him.
Police officer looks dodgy
What case is this movie based upon ? Does anyone know ?
To think the killer pretended to be supportive!😡🤬🤮
