I hate be one of those "Um, actually" guys, but this isn't the original "Black Betty", either. It was a "working man's song" which dates back to at least 1939, with the phrase "Black Betty" itself referring to either a type of alcohol, or fast cars/motorcycles, depending on the time period. As for an original author, it's most often attributed to Blues singer-songwriter Huddie "Lead Belly" Ledbetter, even though the earliest known recordings aren't by him. But the version most people are familiar with (and the version I'd assumed for years to be the original) is Ram Jam's version, released in 1977; most of the subsequent covers and takes on "Black Betty" are based on theirs. So, in a roundabout way, one could say that the "original" song the "Rayman: Legends" version is based on would be the 1977 version by Ram Jam. Edit: This version is still an absolute banger, I agree with you on that one :D
I remember playing Rayman Legends 6 or 7 years ago and one of the music levels they had was a variant of this. I was today years old when I discovered the name of the song.
This song reminds me of a bar fight. Start of the fight, two drunk guys argue about who’s wrong and who’s right. The other man slaps the guy, and they break out into a whole brawl.
