My kids want songs to "hype" them up for sporting events...this will always be the go-to song, as it was 100% what got me pumped for any and all games, no matter what sport it was!❤
Every time I listen to this song, it's like my head focuses in on a different part of the end solo. It's so insane. Every time I listen, it's like listening for the first time again. Masterpiece!
So I was just literally on the road at a stoplight and guy two lanes from me was rocking out to this with all his windows down, headbanging and clapping his hands🤘🏾
It annoys the piss out of me that radio stations will always cut out the part of 1:59-3:16 and yet they will play the 15 choruses at the end of 'Hey Jude' and other long songs. What the hell?? ALWAYS!!
The station I was listening to when this came out didn't play it, so I only heard it on American Top 40, which of course played the abbreviated version. It always seemed to me that the song never really got started. Years later, I have SiriusXM and finally heard the full version (on either Classic Rewind or Classic Vinyl) and finally it made sense. Never understood the radio edit, the full song isn't that long, and 4 minute-ish songs were being played all the time by then.
Pierre-O D-Poulin To someone who usually obeys the speed limit, hell yes it is. Not to someone who participates in night races. That's a cruise speed to them.
Back in the early 80's when I was in high school a local guy several years older than me and my running buddies had a black 1965 Mustang coupe with Old Black Betty painted across the edge of the deck lid where the lock and Mustang letters were. The car had a built 289 with a dual quad set-up best I can remember,4-speed and I think it had 3.90 or 4.11 gears under it. He had aluminum slotted E-T wheels with skinny black walls on front and Mickey Thompson N-50's on the rear. Stan was a pretty cool guy. He'd give us a cold beer or two if we helped him clean and polish the car for weekend cruising. He died several years ago in his mid-50 of a heart attack. It shocked us all. He didn't look like he had a health problem in the world. His son (and only child) has Black Betty now. He brings it out a few times a year to shows and what not but he's adamant it'll never be for sale. R.I.P Stan.
Been 4years I havent been able to listen to this song as it brought to many child memories of growing up with my late dad. I'm glad I listened to it today. Helped me more then I thought it would. Idk why it was so hard.
My dad has a buddy who served over in Afghanistan. He served by flying Blackhawk helicopters as a medical evacuation, and whenever going to pick up wounded guys on the field, always has this jamming in the heli! So badass!
