Wet Sanding & Buffing Engine Cowling (Yamaha 200 Outboard)

Thanks for all the information. I am looking to buff out the sun damaged spots on my cowling. Would this be the same process?
Will a normal power drill suffice with the buffing pads?

do you apply clearcoat after polishing? Or is the paint durable as is?

Do you apply a clear top coat to that or just wax?
