I miss when the contestants actually sang in their own language. Bobbysocks won this the year before (85) singing in Norwegian, then had the great reveal of doing it in English, French etc at the end. Nowadays the contestants just sing mostly in English and it has lost its charm and meaning imo because of that. The Eurovision's Greatest Hits, celebrating 60 years of Eurovision by the BBC in 2015, was wonderful because it had this mix by having past winners on it, inc Bobbysocks. I actually enjoyed the Eurovision film The Story of Fire Saga with Will Ferrell better than I did the contest of the past few years because it captured the real essence that's been lost.
Finally got to hear this, since I missed it when it won; I had just moved to the US, grew up faithfully watching the ESC and used to seeing Norway not do well, to say the least, and now I am not disappointed......this is TERRIBLE!!! :)
