Congratulations on finally discovering postwar steamers. It was common to have steam and diesels running together in the late 40s and 50s. The early EMD NW-2 switchers & E & F units like the Menards engines you have and the early Alco's FA, PA, and SW switchers shared the rails together. It's one of the reasons that era is popular to model. General Motors EMD division is likely responsible for the demise of steam with the introduction of their F units. The first successful diesel/electric road engines. General Motors manufactured the F & E units along with their NW-2 switcher engines. Alco was the only successful steam engine builder who made a successful transition to diesel electrics at that time with their FA, PA, & SW-2 switcher engines. Alco, the American Locmotive company, was the engine builder for the Union Pacific Bigboy steam engine.
@@DRCRailroard Thank you it’s certainly not going to be my only one. I appreciate the in depth explanation of these beautiful pieces of engineering excellence standing up close to one on the rails is just breathtaking 🚂🚂🚂
Howdy from Arkansas, nice videos ... if you wanted to you could deck that flatbed with some popsicle sticks and it would look more like a flatbed than a single level car hauler .. that is only if you wanted to try it
Looks like u went christmass shopping at manards for new buildings i have the loading dock going to put piece of stireen on each side of tomotor to keep it from going at a angle keep on tracking 😊 glad u found a steam loco for ur catle car 👍
That looks like a 2035 steamer. Has the stamped 4 wheel trailing truck, and the spoked drivers. It’s the same boiler casting. Basically the same loco as the 675 but used in O27 sets. Hence the 4 digit number.
@@pilotren9830 I'm up to 26 engines now. once I get a live stream setup I'm gonna start doing a tease and wreck of the week video series with some of the frankensteins. Pull a Gomez Addams and then fix them and do it again. We shall see. I can get some good close calls switching between that figure 8 and oval I have. I just have to rewire an engine or two to go the opposite direction. Someone told me they even have pressure sensitive stuff I can put on the noses that makes a flash and a poof.
Great Job! I like the Menards buildings a lot. Looking Good👍👍🙏🔥💪🇺🇸

Nice Milwaukee consist & trucks. You could change the Tide plant into any other chemical or oil plant by covering the logo up.
@@rockingtr1 Thank you , That’s a great idea
Interesting, your car haulers would make some interesting box trucks. You could make some 4wheel trailers to go behind them.
