I like Stacey. These are the things we have to do sometimes to get through to our kids before they go total left field with no return. We have to do what we have to do as parents to get through to our children.
What does this even mean? Is it just an error? "Would you shop your own child."

@@melaniekendall4903Could you please explain it? I lived in Australia for 8 years (I know this is a British show but there are many of the same expressions) and I don’t know what “shop” means in this case. I’m afraid it’s not as obvious to me as it is to you.
In the UK to shop someone is slang for turning them in to an authority like the police.
