Do you wait for the perfect piece or do you keep “upgrading” until you find the PERFECT one?? I think this is my 10th mid century desk and I can finally say I’m never ever ever letting this one go ☺️🙌💃
I upgrade and I think my friends think I am crazy. But it is so fun to flip things and get something nicer. I have finally found a few forever pieces though.
That desk is fabulous! My eyes went wide and my jaw dropped in awe when I saw it ☺️. The wall paper is gorgeous too. I'm looking forward to seeing how that room turns out. Love your style and your videos, Laura ☺️
It was so nice to meet you in person today at The Vintage Nest. You are just as lovely and sincere as you appear on the show. Wishing you all the best in your future endeavors. Vendor 8
You find the BEST stuff!!! Thank you for sharing where you find these treasures, I live in the Portland-area and appreciate the tips on the good spots to check out. Some of the other You Tube folks up here don't/won't share where they go. I will warn you, if I ever spot you in the thrifting wilds, I will fan girl out!!! Enjoy the beautiful weather this weekend!!!
I think this is one of my favorite videos from you! I love your thoughts and beliefs on decorating. When I walk into my home after a long day of work I always smile because I love the decor and style of my home. I love all my thrifted artwork and vintage glassware. You found some amazing things. Vintage shopping with you is the best!
I agree with what you said at the end of your video. Be yourself. Your home should reflect who you are not a ditto of everyone else. Bravo! Love your videos. You can see how much you adore what you do.
I agree and feel the same way about the store anyone can walk in a store and buy the displays! I love to thrift as well and not knowing what your going to see or find is so exciting to me! What a great video! 👁❤️It!
Amazing finds! I LOVED the first thrift shop. The pieces that you found in Goodwill were awesome. You have an awesome design style. I started wearing the family’s vintage turquoise collection because of you. Love your style. Thanks for sharing,
Amen on the target comment. I went to interior design school and felt like I was the only one who felt how you described. I "self design" my own home, didn't care to stay in the industry and work in furniture stores. Interior design (and thrifting) is an art form in my mind....total self expression. My personal style is blended and that's what makes it so fun. My clothing style is very much a blend of both you and Selena, romantic boho so I thoroughly have enjoyed all your channels❤
Laura...I absolutely love your style of decor and bohemian clothing. There are so many things you buy that I would have chosen as well. Also, those kitties are so adorable, love them too!😺
Hey Laura, I love what you said at the end of today’s episode about loving to go into people’s home and seeing their unique style not what is trending. I live in a 1914-1917 farmhouse that belonged to my great grandparents, however I have discovered I don’t want it to look like a TJ Max farmhouse style. Although my house was built in the early 1900’s it has never not been lived in therefore it has seen every trend imaginable. I like your idea of mixing styles. I want to see a little of my great grandma and a little of my grandma (aka Granny) along with my own style. You definitely inspire me.
Hey Laura, your desk is beautiful and I love how you took your time and waited till you got exactly what you wanted. Thrifting does take time and in the end you are rewarded with something that reflects who you are and who you want the world to see you as. Thanks for continually reinforcing this.
I love that Cloissone vase, the colors are so bright & compliment your lamp so well. You found so many wonderful items Laura, thank you for sharing. 😊💕
In Norteast Ohio our Goodwill stores seem to be just used items with no great value. I love your videos and the great treasures you discover. I will try searching more thrift stores. Can’t wait to see your newly purchased house. Your sunny disposition is wonderful.
@@leftcoastrevivals Looking forward to brass polishing episode. I religiously collect brass smalls and some larger pieces for centerpiece type displays.
I love how you say mix your styles together. I have always decorated that way. I have antiques, modern, handmade art, fake plants because my cats love to eat plants and no carpet so we can change the area rugs. I even have a vintage Murphy bed that looks like a dresser. 🌻 from Las Vegas, NV
Can’t agree more, I love my eclectic thrifted decor. I love watching visitors checking out all my unique finds. Sold my very first thrifted item too the other day - a $20 brass candelabra for $50 nothing too mind blowing but it was fun to make some money from doing something I love.
Exactly. To furnish your home from big box stores is not authentic. To furnish a home takes a lot of time and effort to make it reflect who you are. Your true self.
I love, love, love the little brass vase. I have that shape on my wish list. It's just a matter of time?! Laura, you look beautiful in that dress with the turquoise jewels. Lovely! Take care! ✌ 💞
Omg i fall in love with the horses book holders at 6:21 and the blue lamp in the first store's showcase I NEED THEM And your desk is gorgeous !! What a great find !
17:16 Thank you for saying this. I've always mixed styles as I'm not one style, and some peeps didn't think that was a thing. You made my day. I just love so many different things and I don't like my home to be a target store, as that's not me. I love everyone, so naturally I love pieces from every style. We always called it "eclectic", but "MIXUP" is what I call my style. 🥰🥰😔 I LOVE YOU SIS
That desk is perfection! You have made me fall in love with mid century modern furniture. I was lukewarm about it but after watching your videos for the last few months, I’m head over heels about it!
Your desk is a fabulous find! I grew up in “mid-century” so I chuckle each time I hear that phrase. My mother was a perfectionist at sewing curtains and pinch pleated drapes, painting and wallpapering thus our 1920s home was beautifully decorated. I moved away in 1965 and my best friend all through school loved our home so much that she and her husband bought it! Back in the late 1960s and early 1970s I lived in Portland when few people were “antiquing” and prices were very low. Even back then it was a fun place to shop but you definitely have a wealth of thrifts and antique stores to hunt.
Those lucite salad servers were bomb! Totally agree on mixing styles and periods. My personal style has changed a lot over the years but right now I'd describe it as '80s feminine modernist'. There's a lot of earth tones and natural materials contrasted with pastels, geometric glass and sculptural crystals. 99% of it is thrifted, roadside or DIY.
Laura, saw you had a new video (I'm a subscriber), and said to myself "there's my girl". Just love you girl. Thrifted tonight on my way home from work. Bought some textiles, thinking of you.
Great video never thought I would love the Jaguar until I saw him at your fireplace 👍🏼 it’s funny how you can find a piece like that and design an entire room around it ..I’ve done it 🥰
I love that you and some of your fellow thrifter/resellers decorate with your finds. I agree with you hat it makes for unique decor that is a reflection of each of you. It drives me batty to watch shows on TV - and the end result is just like what nearly every other one is. Thanks for taking us along for shopping and showing us your dresser with the items arranged on it.
Great finds!! I'm not a mid century person generally BUT wowza at that desk!!! That is fantastic!! I would love to have one myself!! I say I'm not mid century but I love wooden critters & have a large collection of them😁, brass anything...I have several of those claw bells, pottery, clean lines on furniture, my everyday silverware is Mar Crest Atomic Starburst.....🤔...lol....I think my TRUE style identity has been identified 🤣
the metal stamp you found is an Indonesian batik "cap" from Java. It's a stamp that you dip into hot wax and then stamp the textile. Batik is a wax resist technique for hand dyeing patterns onto fabric.
I love how you know what you want and you are very consistent with it Its refreshing. Your style is not my style, but it turns out beautiful. I like more modern, clean lines, black and brass with some retro mixed in.
Your first painted cabinet had some blue and gold cups and dishes sitting on it. A few years ago I was able to buy my daughter a whole set of that for her birthday. It’s called luster ware. I still have it here. She says she has no where to put it. Now I have to find her a cabinet to hold it! Kids, you have to love them!
Im watching some older show while waiting for online sale. The chalk ware leopard came with cubs, one one log and one standing. I have both. Love Your shopping.
Have to share a story with you. After one of your videos, I called the store and purchased two items from their shop. One of the items turned out to be much larger than I expected and I ended up paying more in shipping than what the items cost! I learned a valuable lesson!
Do you wait for the perfect piece or do you keep “upgrading” until you find the PERFECT one?? I think this is my 10th mid century desk and I can finally say I’m never ever ever letting this one go ☺️🙌💃
It is a beautifull desk🙂
That is a very beautiful desk. Would it be teak? Mid-century teak is really highly sought-after in Ontario. Comes at a very high price tag too!
I upgrade and I think my friends think I am crazy. But it is so fun to flip things and get something nicer. I have finally found a few forever pieces though.
That desk is stunning. If you look at it from a certain angle, it kinda looks like a piano, lol.
I’m an upgrader typically
That desk is everything!
Great finds. You always find the coolest things. I love your decorating style. Have a blessed day. 🙏😊❤😊🌹
Thanks for sharing and and enjoyed shopping with you and loved your haul .
That desk is fabulous! My eyes went wide and my jaw dropped in awe when I saw it ☺️. The wall paper is gorgeous too. I'm looking forward to seeing how that room turns out. Love your style and your videos, Laura ☺️

It was so lovely meeting you! ☺️ Thanks for sharing your vintage mall with me! ❤️
Love how supportive you are of fellow vintage resellers. And that desk wow 😍
Hey Laura! Thank you for inspiring me to find my own thrifted style! I call it "alternative grandma"! 😂❤️
Haha I love it!!! 🙌
I love you! Now I wanna be Alternative Nana! 🙂

That copper fabric stamp is Indonesian, Laura, used for a technique called Batik, using wax and paint.
Ha ha,I was off to bed to Laura as it's 11pm,so bed must wait, cos here you are, love from England 😍❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hi Laura. Love your desk. Looking forward to your office styled. I am psyched for your road trip. Can”t wait to follow along. Cheers 👍🏻💜🙋🏼♀️

What a fun haul! Love the new desk and Jaguar. Thanks for brightening the day!

Oh Laura! So excited about the road thrift! It's really nice of you to invite resellers.

I was going to bed, but i quess that has to wait😄 Midnight here in Denmark😴 That decanter was beautifull. Thanks for another great video.
Thanks for staying up to hang with me ☺️❤️
Love, love your style.
Thanks Laura. I love thrifting with you. I saw a few things I own but was yelling, "go back, I need to look again". 😉

Can you do a video on how you clean up items you buy, such as the brass seagull? Or how to clean textiles? That would help me a lot.
Brass polishing episode coming next week 🥳
@@leftcoastrevivals Looking forward to brass polishing episode. I religiously collect brass smalls and some larger pieces for centerpiece type displays.

The painted flowers on the furniture are plumeria and it's a Hawiian themed piece.
I absolutely love your desk and love the places you take us on. You have awesome taste. Love your channel. Thanks for sharing.
I retired from retail, we moved to Arizona, now I work part time at a Thrift store! Love it!
