Thanks Melo! You teach me something new with each video. Also, when we can't be out there nearly as much as we want, my son and I huddle up and watch a few of your videos. Then we feel like we've done a little fishing ourselves! Hope to see you soon. Keep up the good work!
When I drift I set the rods the same way but I just toss out a bucket to keep my boat sideways to the wind. I do have a 42" Magnum drift sock but I like to drift a little faster. My Boat is a 14' Aluminum V-Hull so I only use the sock on VERY windy days I use weedless jigheads with cut bait and the fish are always caught in the lower lip.
@@OCDFishing ok I just ordered 2 socks plan to get into drifting asap.. my logic is the sock is pulling away from the boat and into the current.. so the poles would drag the opposite
+gusteru77 Right now at Calaveras alot of the Cats are running shallow. After the Spawn I would suggest deeper water as they begin to move back out again
Great explanation of what you are doing and how you set it up. Thank you.

Thanks Scott, I really enjoy sharing my experiences with people! I hope everyone is finding it as useful as you and your son have :)
Thanks

phartattack Weedless Jig Head? Interesting, I may have to try that this coming winter! Thanks :)
vegeta404 works great cat fishing in the outlets and around heavy brush, on Braunig behind the island is good too.
phartattack Awesome! Thanks for the advice, will definitely try this out!!!
Why not put the poles off the opposite side of the boat as the socks?
Chip Sammich doing so will make the lines run underneath the boat

What are good areas to drift in? Channels or shallows? Thanks
