      poor boy gaming companies have 3d artists and programmers. Each do their part. Actually, the bigger the company, the more specific the jobs become so you'd have several 3d artists, one for character design, other for environment, other for vfx etc. It's good to know a lil bit of programming overall but it's really not required for a 3d artist. Unless you're working on a really small indie gaming company where you need to do a little bit of everything.

    I'm sorry but how did you manage the crate? First you edge loop, then you select, but after that it seems like you bevel then you undo and then you extrude then you undo? It's confusing. What would you do to get the crates planks to appear? I tried and only managed to get it done with beveling those same edges then extruding the selection inward, but here it seems as though you got it another way? Care to explain? I tried it for an hour of thinking but it doesnt work the same way as yours

      By the looks of it, it also took me a while to figure it out. But I think the final technique was rather simple...
      First you select all the polygons that will become planks.
      Then you make a small inner extrusion, but make sure "preserve groups" is turned off.
      Then you can simply extrude again with the new selection still on.

    Amazing, amazing work! I have a quick question - how did you get the texture on the grass and soil beneath it? Is it a noise and displacement within the material?

    • @twistereli
      @twistereli  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's noise on the color channel and also noise on the bump channel. Both set at avery small global scale (2% i think)

    Amazing! Congrats to 1k! How much would it cost for you to make me an isometric model of my room?

    • @twistereli
      @twistereli  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on the complexity of the room. Probably $100-200 unless it's really empty haha
