No it isn't. Max Bacon was the singer for Nightwing, before he was asked to join GTR. He worked with Steve Howe a few times outside of that as well as with Mike Oldfield, but never as a singer with Yes.

GTR was made up of…at the time….. former members of YES and Genesis. There was a couple of other tunes that received air play, but this was the biggest hit. The band name is GUITAR but with the vowels all removed.
