    Hi, Chubby. That is a beautiful rock. I would polish the flat face and leave the rest natural. I would not cut the side. That's just me. I like natural. YOU ROCK, MY FRIEND. *TYU*

    Heck yeah bud that’s awesome. I wish I’d have thought to do that with some of the stuff people leave behind. I just sit behind my phone and wimper noooo. Lol. I don’t have any of that banded iron formation yet. Maybe he’ll go find me a chunk. Lol

    I remember this video! I was drooling over this huge piece of banded iron formation. One of my favorites. He really seems like a nice kid, obviously he is. That's so cool that he went back into and found it for you! If you have it face polished it would really make a gorgeous bookend. Please let us know later what you do with it. Thanks for sharing HCH!✌️🤠🤘

      Hi there Kyla Abegglen and thank you, it is a sweet hunk for sure and Rodenberg Rocks does rock! I will keep you folks in the loop as to what I do with this, but right now I think a face polish and display are more than likely the way to go. Thank you for stopping by.

    That is a killer piece of banded iron formation. I would polish the flat side and the small side and the bottom flat side and leave the two sides rough. That way you can stand it up on that funky bigger flat bottom edge and have the a nice shelf piece. Banded iron formation polishes really well and it many times after its polished, the dark streaks in it, will show any metallic bits in the rock. Thats a beautiful rock though. Im kind of like you, a have a 4 lb green jasper i bought from katydid rocks, and its beautiful but im not sure what im going to do with it! Whatever you decide, its a nice rock! Thanks HCH! Oh and awesome fridge magnet. It would have been a shame if it would have broken and you lost the up! Do better USPS!

    That is so cool he went back and grabbed it! I've watched his channel before. Finds some cool rocks around Lake Superior. Awesome bif specimen. Really cool magnet too. I get lots of knife marks too when I get rocks in the mail. Not sure who or why. Maybe they suspect drugs are being delivered is my best guess. But, it has happened to me many times. My guess was deliberately cut open. Even though carriers aren't supposed to do that. Haven't seen ya around in a while. Hope your doing well, my friend. Take care.

      Hi there Fayde, it was super cool of Rodenberg Rocks, I am really glad he found it. Have they ever cut open the bags of rock though? And if so than have the decency to admit you did that, unless you mean this is not official? I have been really busy trying to catch up from when we were sick this spring. I have been able to get out and do some rock hunting though, and hope to post a video soon. Thank you for checking in my friend.

      @MrChubbyHubby. I never noticed any bags cut open at least. Glad you're feeling better. I didn't realize you weren't doing well there. Sorry, my friend.

      Hey there G&P Coins, no I think this one will remain whole, some of this stuff has smaller bands that would show on a smaller piece, this one not so much. Thank you for stopping by my friend.

    Awesome chunky HCH. That is some very cool material. We have similar jasper here in WA but the dark material is not magnetite. That will take a shine really nice. That is gonna be beautiful when polished. You need to build yourself a drop saw and a flat lap. With that shop of yours, you could pop those things out no problem. Awesome buy buddy.

    • @MrChubbyHubby.
      @MrChubbyHubby.  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey there Paul Hampton, yeah at some point I will get a big saw of some kind, although I hear those drop saws have a bad habit of cutting crooked, although that could be user error as well, any thoughts? And I do have a flat lap, although only an 8" one currently, I think for something this big a vibratory one would be the ticket. Thank you for stopping by.

    • @paulhampton4699
      @paulhampton4699 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MrChubbyHubby. I haven't had any experience personally with a drop saw. The only reason I recommended it was that I feel it is probably the easiest and fastest type of saw to build. I could be all washed up too. Now when it comes to rock saws, I have had a few and still have a few. (too many actually but I will not say that in front of my wife tho. LOL Egads don't mention faceting machines in front of her either.) I think a guy only needs two saws. Remember this is me, and you kinda gotta take most of what I saw with a grain of salt sometimes. My current selection of saws available is a 6" trim, 12", 16", 24". After thinking about it, I think all I need would be a 6" trim saw and a 24". Heck I think there is only 3 saws out there. The trim saw lives inside. A 10" would be nice if you want to hand cut a lot. But you can pretty much cut anything on the 24" except a larger rock than 11" or so.
