To be fair, they animate/motion capture the brows and eye holes to show through the mask. Actual masks of that material cannot move with the brow and is why other superheroes don't do it because it's not grounded. Holand's Spiderman does it because they establish the suit augments the eyepieces like a camera iris because of the tech. Deadpool's excuse is that it's a relatively silly universe, and this Wolverine got to benefit from it.

The thing is that wolverines eyes actually did move. For some reason it went the Deadpool route. They weren’t just static. That’s what made it good. The Batman universe is based on realism so the eyes can’t just move without something behind it. Edit: I could see in DCU since Batman isn’t really based on realism in that universe.

i don't see why they can't just have both... one is a battle lens that's slightly animated, but toned down. I like the white eyes for both Wolvy and DP, but Wolvy's eyes should be much smaller, but still just as expresive. Personally I wouldn't mind an X-Force with red eyes, just slightly smaller.

Also he has some tech stuff, so even in a non-stylized, super-realism department it still works. And for emoting, there are ways for him to emote without having to include clear visibility of his eyes. Maybe the angle of his face, the slight wince on his mouth, his sublte body language, heck maybe his cheeks and area around the eyes are movable, minor muscle movements on his face can still be readable while his eyes are clad in some high tech glow in the dark white night vision eye lens or something.

It's so easy to give up on a project if you don't have the studio's support, but he didn't, and from that movie he popularize white eyes mask in live action superhero movie, and now we have a comic accurate wolverine costume.
Batman had the white light up eyes at the end of The Dark Knight when taking the building hostage situation and fighting joker. It can be done. People liked that touch a lot in the film and it makes total sense to incorporate the white eyes and maybe even have it be tech similar to say the contact lenses that pattinson's batman uses. that would not only make sense but also have a practical purpose they could be the light that allows the footage to be seeable/useable in darker places.
The white eyes look weird in wolverine and would look weird in batman. They look good on spiderman and BvS because they're big and don't move, so they just look like glasses in the mask, same for daredevil, they don't move. The only character in which it doesn't look weird is in Deadpool.

Just as they do for Superman. At this point, just say fhuck it, and embrace Batman as he truly is… and how he’s been loved for nearly 100 years!
