    7:10 in the current version it looks like they have one tightner to tighten all the joints at oince from the bottom so you will not need to have a riser.

    Hi Kieran, are there any any other cheaper baseplate/ risers available? Many thanks in advance. Maith thú

      Hi Kevin, sorry no or not that I have seen anyway. The quick release bracket really helped rise the camera up a bit. NiceyRig have a 25mm high quick release plate on Amazon, I know a friend of mine bought one of those and he said it works fine. There are a ton of them out there. Sorry I can't be of more help there and good to meet another Irish person on here :-)

    Thanks Can you clarify what I should google for a Manfrotto Quick Release plate and will it work on a Lumix GH6? Thanks Kieran

    • @kieranhayesphotography
      @kieranhayesphotography  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you google "manfrotto Quick Change Rectangular Plate Adapter, universal threads" It should show as one of the top results on the manfrotto website at least you know what you are looking for then. You should also be able to find an arca swiss option (not from Manfrotto) if that suits you better.
      I hope that helps a bit.

    Very helpful video as I've just purchased a 2896 which nicely boxed but minus assembly instructions. Needs some sort of shoulder strap for my set-up as well as a safety strap to keep cam attached to rig whatever the circumstances.

      @kieranhayesphotography  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Ron, enjoy the rig and ya a good strap would be very handy alright 👍

    Isn't it too short? I mean can you see through the ldc or do you need to attach an extrenal monitor on the front of the rig to see what you are shooting?

    • @kieranhayesphotography
      @kieranhayesphotography  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      you can still easily see through the LCD screen on the camera. you can slide the camera further forward than that and the shoulder pad extends further back also. If you are stuck still with a bigger camera you can get longer rods or extend the existing rods with 15mm rod connectors. Hope that helps.

    Nice video! I think you got the shoulder pad mounted the other way around (5:56), looking at the moulding... :-)

      Oh god, I didn't even spot that in the editing :-) It's totally the wrong way around. Thank you for your observance.

    How the f.. do you attach the camera to this rig? Do you have to have a quick release plate? Why isn't it included?

    • @hubulaba
      @hubulaba ปีที่แล้ว

      I need to attach a Canon DSLR.

    • @kieranhayesphotography
      @kieranhayesphotography  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Kasper, you should be able to attach it via the tripod mount screw on the base of your camera. It screws up through the camera mount on the shoulder rig. Is it caught for height? If so, I put on a quick release bracket to add some height to it as my lens was getting caught on the rods.

    Terrible shoulder rig design. The camera needs to be on the shoulder not in front of the shoulder or it defeats the reason for a shoulder rig I.E. to be able to shoot for long periods of time without getting tired. That rig will be front heavy. Also, the handles shouldn't be 'symmetrical' to the camera because that's over the shoulder. The handles shouldn't be symmetrical at all. they should be offset so that you're not twisting as you shoot. This rig would get extremely uncomfortable in a surprisingly short space of time and just wait until you add a monitor and a power solution. It would however provide the basis for a better rig. Depends on the price of course. You can buy the bits you need for a shoulder rig for around the £120 mark.

    • @kieranhayesphotography
      @kieranhayesphotography  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi John, the rig can be changed very easily as you can see in the video, the rod with the handles attached can slid over in two seconds to make it more natural and the camera position on the rig can also be moved very easily so no issue there either.
      Thanks for the input though and happy new year.
