To this day, Tumbleweed remains as one of the greatest live bands I've ever seen. They played with heart and soul regardless of crowd size. Some of their most explosive and energetic gigs were performed to a handful of folk. They made you feel glad to be alive. Still do. Dammit! I miss tumbleweed
I accidentally stumbled upon this video and man I'm glad I did. I had completely forgotten about this song! So great! They don't make Aussie music like this anymore.
seeing tumble weed was one of my fave concert expierience, i think it was a homebake, there was way too many people and the mosh was sick, everyone covered in sweat jumping to the music, fucking awesome
This has to be the first ever stoner rock song I got into. I was so happy I rediscovered it on an aussie rock playlist on spotify. COME OUT OF THE CAAVE SILVER LIZARD!
Me to....lived in the gong at the time, worked at Bulli with some great people, point boys, Jethro. Party at the Ryan's, beer at the Bulli, waves, great times.
+Charley Smith went to the Annandale with the old man and bro to see celibate rifles, and saw cosmic psychos supporting, hands down best pub gig ever been to
love the weed, saw them a few times, one of which was a club in richmond (sydney) about 1995ish with about 10 other lucky punters - no one else showed up to the gig - it was awesome, they played to the 10 of us and then had a few drinks at the bar with us. Top blokes
Remember when they started as the Proton Energy Pills? Got that album somewhere. You can get three Tumbleweed albums via a torrent hunt. Another band that just could not quite break through. They were big but I think poorly handled by the record company. I think they signed to Atlantic which at the time was a huge contract. I used to love em in the early days, Hippy kids with no shoes, shy introverted girlfreinds in tow, absolutely massive wall of sound, playing at Sydney inner city pubs.
i saw the 'weed about 94/95 at livid festival in brisbane (at west end before it moved to rna show grounds) and its is still a set i remember. they were awesome. i think silverchair headlined, but the 'weed were devastating that night.
I don't remember the Proton Energy Pills - my first exposure was when they supported Rollins Band back in...what...'94? I was hooked from that moment, and tracked everything down - even the The Unheard demo tape! Golden music and memories and they deserved to be much bigger. But they are well-loved, and giving it a second go, and now recording again! May the second time around be sweeter :)
Although im british and never been anywhere even sort of close to aus i do kind of like a few aus alt bands tumbleweed, mantissa, crazymother wtf happened to aus music ? The same happened here though bands like Gaye Bykers on Acid and Bomb party wtf went wrong ? Bring back the 90s
@CrazyMaryCrazyMary: I built a "Personal Transporter" not to dissimilar to the one at the start of the clip and unfortunately it has never worked (it is still in my back yard). Besides the ridicule and often laughter that this machine designed by the "Gods of Grunge" created I pursued. (FACT - No one from that Wollongong has ever made one of these people movers). Does that answer your question?
Really??? Might have to go....bought their first album in '92, had it nicked by a drug fucked Portugese dude in London ten years later and have been meaning to buy it again ever since. Classic!
One of the greatest songs of all time.

This sounds different from the versions I have. I got the song of the first Homebake complilation as well as an album called No. 1 90's Rock.

Great to discover this song on You Tube, it's a pity to find out this band is from........Wollongong?
The audio has suffered a bit over the last twelve years on video tape - as has the picture quality. It's the same as the album version though.
CrazyMaryCrazyMary

No, music is just on a steep downward spiral.
Acid
I pity the poor bugger that lost it!
Probably because they got more and more stoned ...
