    I would love to see how to line an already made skirt without ruining it ! X

    Great job...I just wish the skirt was not black for the demonstration. Nothing against black skirts...just hard to see what you are doing specifically when you fold and tuck things. You just cannot see where or what with the black fabric ...although you explain it well. :)

    Thank you for the video- in particular I was wondering about a project repair on a long skirt- the liner made the outside fabric buckle- so I took it apart then realized I wanted to hem liner and skirt seperately- this felt correct- you reinforced this for me , thanks. I subscribed and clicked the bell

    Great little video - thank you. I wasn’t sure as to whether to catch the lining in the skirt hem but you explained that beautifully.

    Perfect! I'm just making the tulip from some lovely checked wool, but it's a bit scratchy so I thought I'd line it to make it soft against my skin. I was a bit unsure on how to do this with the pockets though, so this tutorial is perfect :) I think I'm going to try doing the waistband that sits against my skin from the lining also, so fingers crossed that works!!

    Thank you Lisa for this very informative video. I always enjoy watching and listening to you. I would really like you to please explain making clothing which has been cut on the cross (bias). It would be nice to learn why clothes are made this way. Is it because they drape better? Thanks. Best wishes Ann in South Australia.

  • @andreastark1144

    I am just about to try and make this skirt and would like line it. I really like the idea of using a fancy lining like you have, do you sell this? Do you know where I can buy it. Can you see it through the material! I am also going to use Black Crepe for this skirt.

    Thanks for the tutorial, I'd love to make a black skirt like that too. One question though, would a rayon lining stick to tights or is it ok to wear with tights?

    I really love your tutorials. They are so helpful. Can you make a tutorial on how to sew with unprinted patterns. For beginners these patterns seem overwhelming and we could really use a tutorial on how to sew with unprinted patterns from reading the instructions, to pinning & cutting to sewing it together.

  • @donutkiller8004

    If your not doing a zipper, you can sew the lining all the way that’s what I did

  • @deidrejago7509

    What pattern is this?

  • @veronicafata6522
    @veronicafata6522 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    For a beginner a little bit hard to all understand. Also, I didn't understand how you can get into the pockets, since they are under the skirt on the lining and the sew on the skirt isn't open.

      Veronica FATA the black is the outer layer and the pattern is the inside layer, meaning the black is on the outside of the garment

  • @lotlotdg4300
    @lotlotdg4300 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Its hard to see everything you are doing because of the pattern of the garments

    This skirt is perfect. I would really like to learn how to make it but I'm still kind of unclear after watching the video.

  • @colleenn858
    @colleenn858 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I wish you would take the time to explain what you meant by the edge of the lining being folded over when doing the zipper. It was not verbally clear and it went too fast to catch. Black was not a good color to use as the tutorial. Also, when you attach the lining to the skirt at the top, do you have the darts going in the same direction or do you make them opposite so they lay nice? As a beginner beginner it would be helpful to explain the obvious better.

    As many have mentioned before, black is hard to see and please go slow and very close with the camera, when you demonstrate folding something. When you fold things on the table one cannot really see what you are doing and that is a shame.
