it's good that you say that! because a lot of people still think that he did but even the investigations and tests showed that he really didn't took any! i feel so sorry that they immediatly dropped him instead of waiting for the investigations to end... but i feel like it's not so bad to get away from a company who doesn't really care about you enough to fight for you until the end...
also another reason why 2016 was such a bad year for ikon is because the public said that "bling bling" and "bday" are flops (which i never understood and never realised when it came out lol) but as you said that ones probably one of the reasons why yg then started to overwork them with concerts and deport them to japan for so long that they felt weird talking korean again :(
hanbin is actually my ulti bias and all i want for him is to be happy! so i was overfilled with joy whenever you hear something from him especially when he posted his 1st instagram post in over a year on his birthday ~ i also enjoy his demos on soundcloud! i hope he'll come back when he feels ready~ he as so many people waiting for him, cheering for him uwu

He did take, he admitted to taking some drugs marijuana. He admitted to the allegations. He attempted LSD BUT he admitted to taking in the past before this. Read the news reports. Watch the news report on this video. Even in the kakao chats he says he’s taken before.

I love Hanbin's lyrics. I didn't get a chance to stan iKON, but I did delve into Hanbin's lyricism. His lyrics are two extremes of the same spectrum: from euphoria and heartbreaking sadness. As a growing writer, I love the way Hanbin pieces his words, thoughts and feelings together to create something so magical and mystical such as Love Scenario that I can't comprehend myself. His lyricism is filled with shades of grey, yet also holds hopes that he would never let go. No matter where he is, I'll support him. Even if I wasn't there for him in iKON, I'll be there for him now, and forever. Respect from a upcoming future author to a talented songwriter!! Love you, Hanbin.
Kim Eana, who wrote IU's Good Day, took notice of his distinctive style when Winner's Empty was released in 2014. If a songwriter awards holder paid attention to his lyrics that much early, it was only a matter of time for him to get an award with the same title. And it turned out she was right! 😁

True. When i read the lyrics of all ikon songs, it always make me feel some type of way. He never used bombastic words but he managed to deliver the emotion he try to potray in his songs. I especially like it when he wrote sad n slow songs (hug me, just go, apology, don't forget etc) . I think that's his specialties n what separate him from others. Other kpop songs despite having good meaning, often time it feels empty because the lack of emotion. I'm excited to see his next craft. Hope he'll come back soon.

Actually he has 10 years of experience in the industry and in charge of producing and directing iKON's music and concerts. iKON is the only idol group to win Producer of The Year in history beating producers and other companies including their own company YG Entertainment. That's how independent iKON was under Hanbin's leadership. Hanbin is also the only idol and youngest Korean artist to win Songwriter of The Year. He is known as one of the most hardworking and talented leaders in the industry. He always wishes others to be happy. Please support him. He truly deserves it.

@@AK-bk9bv 2018! I suggest listening to their releases that year in order. Return album, Rubberband, New Kids: Continue EP, New Kids: The Final EP and I'm Okay. They released a repack album containing almost everything in early 2019 as compilation.
What makes iKON special is they are the primary producers of their music and content unlike most k-pop. If you listen to their discography you'll notice how distinct each song sounds which most were produced by B.I. showcasing iKON's versatility. iKON was able to break decade old records and made a cultural impact with their music despite minimal company support and a small fandom.

I dont see much people talking about it, But when hanbin had his scandal, jennie went inactive for soooo many days.....she was close to hanbin and and his mother sinnce she was a trainee...Hanbin's mother used to bring food for many trainne friends of hanbin and one of them is jennie......I feel bad for all the people who were hurt .......hanbin's departure was truly really heartbreaking.......he did nothing wrong.....
Let's not use "he did nothing wrong" card. Hanbin himself admitted that he did something wrong in 2016. Other idols would probably just hide behind their companies, but hanbin bravely admitted despite risks in his career. And i'm proud of him for doing such move. So instead of framing him into an "innocent" one, let's support his growth as person. We stan a human, not a saint nor a god.
Ps. Hanbin did not admit drug usage. What he admitted was him having thoughts of using it back in 2016. He said he never used it since he was scared and I believe him, BUT whether he used it or not, it doesnt change the fact that he was the one who asked hsh for something illegal. So to say that he did nothing wrong sounds too biased for me. Peace out.

@@jam-ep5jm I have to say that finding out a rock star/idol used marijuana is so tame, as far as scandals go, that I'm a little taken aback by the concept that it could ruin a career in Korea. LOL I have watched such worse drug scandals in America that weed seems so mild a thing. I know it's illegal in Korea and doing crimes is wrong, so I get that, but considering about the rape scandals, etc, I do wonder about whether some sense of proportion could be used in these things.
Must say though that that one girl has got to be stopped from ruining so many lives and careers. Why hasn't she been thrown in jail for everything she's done.
B.I is honestly my favorite idol. Such a role model. Really looked after his members, his family, and even the fans. Such a caring, kind, and humble person. I will 100% support him and his endeavors going forward. The scandal was a stumbling block, but I know he will come back stronger and harder than ever. 131 always and forever!

Thank you for this. But some info are wrong like him helping Winner's debut song. Actually "Empty" is B.I's song. He didn't help. It was his one of the first completed songs he wrote. And aside from that he also wrote songs for Psy and Seungri. His song Be I that he wrote for SMTM3 didn't just entered top 10, it actually reached #1 on South Korea's biggest streaming site Melon and some other charts. His masks donations were not just 10K but 100K masks for his fans worldwide and for those people struggling to buy masks. His fans donated socks to the orphanages that he is currently volunteering and constantly donating at. The shoes he gave to the kids, it's not the first time he gave something to the kids there. He and a couple of his high school friends are volunteering there and constantly donating like masks, toys, books, etc and last week sent over pizzas for the kids.
IOK Company, the agency he's an executive director now, said we will be seeing him producing in the future and hopefully on stage again. So hopefully soon 🙏

yg did such a big mistake for not protecting him and throw him under the bus. iKON’s sound was produced by him and he did everything for the group. Even for love scenario, it was once rejected by yhs and it was hanbin who insisted to release the song....I dont know how big his fandom was among all members but pretty sure that it was a big loss for the whole. Great to see him coming back and hope the other boys can have another comeback^^(and still hope for the Bobby x B.I album😭)

Tbh i never worry about him. I always have this feeling about him where he's the kind of person that will succeed no matter what. I mean did u see his talent? I've been a kpop fans more than a decade now n i could say he's definitely distinctive compared to other idols n his talents are just on another level. I'm soo happy that despite the issue, his fans are still with him in fact he even gain more fans. With the amount of support he gets, there's no doubt he'll get far in his life

B.I is one of those artists in Kpop that will always have a soft spot in my heart I mean Anthem was the first Kpop song I ever heard to his commitment to charity. I may not be an Ikonic but I'll always hope things go well for B.I and it seems like things are in some capacity.

Partially admitted as in he admitted to the issue of asking for drugs not taking them. Apparently hair from few areas in our body would show result until a decade so when they tested him in 2019 all the allegations were proved wrong except the ones where he asked for it because of the stress when in 2016 ikon couldn't promote in Korea bcs of yg, ikonics started leaving the fandom, hanbin's songs got rejected by yg and they were sent to tour in Japan without proper break. So ofcourse he was tired and tried to do drugs but he couldn't bcs he was scared

BI is truly unique to kpop. A true artist with absolutely incredible lyricism and passion. Even as someone who never really got into iKon, I could see what a gem he is. I was so worried about what he might be up to, but his passion for music and drive is even more evident now than ever before. I wish BI all the best in his new position and will support his future projects!!!

exactly~ a source at the police station told dispatch he admitted to 'some charges' after his interrogation, but that was never confirmed by anyone with any authority. i hate that this story of 'he admitted to using drugs' is the common narrative, when the only thing hanbin confirmed himself was that he asked about drugs, and wanted to use drugs, but was too afraid to go through with it!
@@May-xh9wb For me the most likely scenarios from MOST likely to LEAST likely is : 1) he met with the person and didn't purchase last minute - or - 2) he met with the person and purchased them but then didn't use them and got rid of them right away - or - 3) he purchased them and had them for months before getting rid of them when he realized it was wrong to use them

B.I is a one of a kind individual. He is a rapper, singer, dancer, composer, lyricist, etc. He is not just an idol. He is an artist. It sucks that justice didn't happen to be on his side. I really hope that he comes back like Wonho from Monsta X did because his talents were just beginning to shine.

when that climax clip was shown, i literally had chills. that song still makes me tear up instantly. i went to stan blackpink last year and that's when i discovered iKON. i was already a stan when the news broke June last year. i cried so hard it was just really heartbreaking.
anyway, thank you for this video. we can't wait for our king to be back. just great things ahead for him as a soloist and hopefully to iKON as well. we know how much he loved his brothers and we know they will continue to support each other whatever happens.

Everyone’s lives have a series of ups and downs. Whatever his past mistakes are, I hope he can only go up from here. I’ve been a fan of iKON and Hanbin since debut and I’ve seen so many of their situations under YG that I can’t help but to cheer for them. Hanbin deserves the best and I’m super happy he’s back. I hope he knows so many fans still love and support him!

As someone who stans Hanbin, I'm a little bit sad that you've shared incorrect information especially because you're sharing it with such a large audience. He never admitted he did drugs at all and only admitted to having the conversation about the drugs. I hope that if you're going to make a video about a topic so controversial, you check the facts properly. Also, I don't think it was necessary to use that video of him leaving the police station. That video is really painful for a lot of us who love him and I don't think it adds anything to the video at all other than maybe making him actually look guilty. I hope you'll consider doing a voice over or disclaimer on the video stating that what you've said is wrong cos then the video would be really good.

His fans are not defending him blindly. As people who've seen him grow since his trainee days, we understand him as much as this. We've seen him grow, how he went into a slump and then depression and then getting back up again. 2016 was a really difficult time for ikon. They were sent to Japan to hold 2-3 concerts a day for 2-3 days IN A ROW while going back and forth to China for a survival show - they endured this for almost 2 years. 2016 was also the year where bobby had to hold an oxygen can while performing at their japan concert, donghyuk lost soooo much weight and hanbin /allegedly/ tried to experiment on LCD because he wanted to be a genius. All of that happening to ikon while YG was busy gambling in L.A. I'm not justifying dr*g usage but it just makes sense that hanbin thought of it (but in the end got scared to do it) - he wanted to be a genius for him and his team to get out of that situation. YG kept rejecting his songs but he continuously wrote and composed songs despite that. This is what i want people to understand before calling him a "druggie" Hanbin and iKON deserves so much more. I wish them all the best and happiness in life.
and after all of this, I heard the news about iKON going on another survival show. I just don't know what to think. My heart just broke for them instantly

It's hard not to root for him after hearing songs like climax, or some of his demos that really shows his desperation to succeed.
And really, the climax stage was just special, to this day the most emotional stage i seen in kpop.

I've been a fan since smtm and lemme tell you my heart absolutely shattered when i heard the news that he left ikon. he's always been one of my ults due to his raw passion and talent for music. and just like you mentioned, he literally wrote/composed like all of ikon's hits, i couldnt even imagine the group without him. im so happy that he's doing well, he deserves success and i hope life continues to be good for him.

I love Hanbin's music, the style, beats, etc. and he himself is a good guy. He's totally pure and honest. Even in this scandal, he didn't lie and admit he did wrong. I'm glad he is better now and I'm waiting for his comeback. I was kind'a sad because I miss him being in Ikon. IKON isn't Ikon without B.I, and I love all Ikon song's from the start never knowing he wroted mostly (with Bobby) and the song which led me to be a blackpink fan which is "Whistle". Hanbin's masterpiece is indeed memorable and unforgettable. I miss B.I.

B.I actually had a few other tracks released from YG but they didn't have his name on the release poster. Fans recognized it from his demos he played in the years prior. Eventually he appeared on KOMCA for the songs. He also made the songs on the iKON album that came out after he left except one. Epik High and Lee Hi continue to collaborate with him on their and his music. He is also suspected to be producing music under a pseudonym. I got into Team B during WIN and supported them all the way until now.
