Profiles in Pittsburgh An evening with Reverend Jesse Jackson. I was blessed to meet Reverend Jackson in 1968. I went to fellowship Baptist Church the day after Dr King had been assassinated. I sat in the church by myself in came this man down the aisle look down at me asked me who was I I told him I was Nora Parker from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and I live there in Chicago. He told me he was Jesse Jackson and I was glad to meet him with tears in my eyes and in his eyes also. He got on stage with Reverend Clay Evans and told the story about what had happened in Tennessee. I went to work for operation bread basket answering the phone and working for 3 years with Reverend Jesse. The main reason why I say this is because of your evening tonight with him. He was always taking the plane to Florida or somewhere down south to a college to help bring calm and peace to the students. Thank you Reverend Jesse Jackson we're keeping the flame burning for our great Dr Martin Luther King Jr. This video is for the students of the university of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon and CCAC Junior college. Enjoy Nora Rose Parker Carter
I can't criticize someone who has spent thier whole life fighting for the cause of the people " Jesse gets the benefit of the doubt from me " when it was unpopular Jesse showed up when no cameras was there Jesse showed up small towns and all " this is my experience with Jesse a man who walk through a sea of people and shake your hand and he was untouched only honored and respected amongst the people .
