Another useful underrated Materia combo is Deadly dodge+HP/MP absorb for Aerith which works surprisingly well for taking out normal mobs in both normal/hard while gaining HP or MP. Aerith's deadly dodge attack has very long range so it pretty much hits every mobs in field at same time; just jump around from far and gain HP/MP. I love using skill materia + Atb assist material on tifa Its great using Unbridled Strength as the 3rd atb attack on tifa to get the boost from skill materia and using it again so as to give atb boost to the entire party
For bahamut just use revival earrings or reprieve on two characters and give them revival materia, heal up quick after first megaflare and you'll be fine.
The ultimate atb booster. Cloud, with a accessory that increases limit break on atb use, Have focus? The material limit break that splits your atb in to 3, Then spam discord triangle discord. As long as it connects it refill enough to instantly cast it Agian. This is a heavy but fast attack, so it helps stagger. Also equip the lvl1 limet break, it's faster to charge for focus. And you can limit break again even faster. Triangle is needed to swap stances to use the fast version of discord.
Brilliant content! Funny how I thought I'd mastered this game because I beat absolutely everything on hard, but this morning I've watched just two of your videos this morning and I know now I'm still just an apprentice!
This was very useful thank you. I would have never thought about the HP and MP Absorb being linked to Magnify which would be worth the four materia slots. Also Provoke can be used to draw fire away from spell casters like Aerith by equipping it upon another character which would allow you to directly control her without the worry of being the primary target of enemies.
Can't we all talk about carbuncle, it's literally the best summon, it auto heals and revives all dead members on departure along with barrier and mana ward
Even before hard mode he was a godsend....definitely the most useful of the summons and all his individual techniques are useful. All the summons have some utility though, as they can at least distract a tough opponent and help pressure them.....I find leviathan to be the least useful really.
@@Ephideltrance I agree with what you're saying especially on leviathan I really hope this fix out some of its abilities as it could be very useful later on in the next parts of the remake.
@@Anthroid9 actually many DLC items, etc aren't all that useful throughout a full playthrough. Carbuncle is the only exception here as cactaur and chocobo chick become useless fast. That is mainly because he is the only healing/support summon so far. Hopefully, next installment gives us Phoenix...an offensive carbuncle basically.
@Captain Caveman that's fair and true, then there's situations like the whole of chapter 9 without regaining much if any MP unless you use soul drain, making battling the he'll house a pain in the tucus.
I think it would be cool to be able to control enemies in the battle arena. Such as enemies you have, assessed, staggered, and maybe manipulated. Have to meet the requirements to be able to use them. That would be pretty fun and different.
Will hp absorption with a fire materia proc with elemental damage with fire materia? I mean, if you're attackig with fire element and damage with fire element, will you heal every time you damage enemies?
Magnify shortens the duration of any buff or debuff materia attached to it. You need the accessory or the weapon upgrades that increase the duration of buffs cast by the character if you want to last longer
Great video! You put in a lot of work making this guide. Just one thing I noticed is that arcane ward's second cast is not free. It's casted at a reduced mp. For example, level 3 atk spells cost 6 mp on second cast
Type 0 behemoth you pretty much have to stagger it before it gets to 1 atb assist and skill master helps drastically for this, lightning elemental absorb helps as well as the follow-up fight with sephiroth has a lot of lightening damage in it.
One of the most underrated and underused combo : HP Absorption Materia + Enemy Skill Materia. It works great for Algid Aura and Spirit Siphon, and heals a lot as well. Unfortunately, it won't work with Self Destruct and barely has noticeable effects with Bad Breath.
I love Enemy Skill with HP Absorb. And just so you know, it actually CAN work with Self Destruct, but only when you have Subversion and warding equipped for the instant-death prevention. It'll just deal a lot of damage to you, instead of inflicting instant-death. I'd suggest also using a weapon with reprieve, just incase.
@@ultimate_pawnch WAIT HANG ON. Self Destruct can be SURVIVED?! this is stupid but i love it. i trolled a few enemies by running in with the auto-life accessory, First Strike materia, and just self destruct immediately. its funny, you just stand back up, but its not smart. warding+subversion lets me just... SURVIVE it? this changes everything!
So for the Skill Master Materia, let's say you use Fire, Fira, & Firaga for the 1st activation... Can you then use Fire, Fira, & then Cure to get it a 2nd time? Just want to be sure I got this right. Thanks in advance! 😁
@@anwarbaroudi1498 In that case he's using six materia slots for that magnified spell that refunds some mp and heals the caster. That's a big slot commitment when the most you can have is 10 slots. I'd rather have enemy skill + hp absorb and free up four slots.
Does go absorption work if you have the linked element on a linked elemental materia slot ? So that your elemental basic attacks for that materia will heal you?
ATB Assist unfortunately seems to have an extremely short time before you can use your next ATB bar and get the bonus. For example, Cloud can't even fit two Bravers in fast enough to get the bonus to activate. It only seems to work well on Tifa as a result of how fast all of her skills are.
I wouldn't say underrated.... Not hating on vid, just was expecting weird underrated combos. 1- Common meta strat 2- Also common meta 3- Very situational for immunity to certain status ailments but can help with other bosses that aren't Tonberry 4- When linking for casts you CAN NOT shortcut a magnify spell so it requires command menu. Do note that Arcane Ward DOES require MP for the 2nd cast, just at a significant reduction (5:26 Cloud uses 21 MP for Firaga, and then 6MP for 2nd cast). Depending on spell if you don't have MP after first cast, you won't recover the MP from damage until after you failed to cast spell. 5- Yeah 6- Great tips for a materia not explained well in game 7- Pretty much how Barret's character is designed to work if people choose to play him that way.
yeah it feels like it's just sort of an odd uninformed take when 'linking materia together' is an 'underused strategy' like did you even play the first one or hear ANYTHING about it?
Just put some word on this game, there is still some chapter and other better materia, but what you gus do is so impressive, hope there can be a way to transfer all your hard worked save data to the next chapters
I wonder what would actually safe more HP, the magnify+barrier combo or magnify+regen combo. Barrier only lasts a while while Regen lasts the whole battle I think. What do you guys think?
Both are temporary buffs. Regen lasts a little longer, but I found the Barrier combo more effective in the Pride and Joy challenge, just gotta time it well. Best to use it just before Bahamut uses Megaflare as spamming it will quickly drain MP. Whoever's using it, I recommend equipping an Enchanted Ring to extend the duration of the buff as even a max level Magnify will cut the effect time by 25%.
I only use regen when my full hp characters look like theyre about to get hammered. Or if my healer looks like theyre going down, and my tank or dps might not be low on hp but ill top them off with a dying healwrs last guage and safely arise the dead healer
Magnify+Barrier is better, the real trick is putting it on a character that will benefit your party the most depending on which battle/challenges you're doing
@@KropolisGaming im running a magnify time hardmode glass cannon build. Its been working wonders, and paired with gatterdamerrung+atb boost+atb assist+first strike is filthy. Can fire out refocus, then haste, then magnify stop and its a set up that lets me expend 8 atb guages worth of commands with cloud alone before the initial 3 enemies get undone from their stop command. I tend to run cure revive on most of my team, but barrier certainly serves its functions. But i like being a squishy lil fuck that hits hard so magnify time all day
qq Khraze but I always see you string in Focused Strike with Tifa even when the enemy is staggered. Do you do that purely to make her look badass or is there some mechanics I'm missing?
I love some of these synergies between materias and different ways to play. Using the Chi Trap build on Tifa with ATB Assist is pretty wild, that build does an absurd amount of stagger and damage. The only thing that kind of sucks is how important certain materia are, like double HP Up, MP Up's, Magic Up, etc. The flat stat boosts are so huge and it takes away spots where you could experiment with other ways to play. Linking various things is cool but it's not necessarily super effective on hard mode. Even Chakra and Prayer I don't find all that useful on hard mode. None the less, the combat they created for this game is amazing, can't wait to see how they build on it in the future.
Atb assist + skillmaster + refocus on Tifa. Basically you can spam commands constantly and your teammates will get bonuses all the time. Makes hard mode easier than the first run. Its just broken.
QUESTION: Who are the best 3 party members to use in the Shinra Battle Sim for the 7 star boss challenge?!? Edit: Finally beat that mutha.....jus got the plat too!!!
What RichaDee said. Yes, Tifa is better than Barret for Shiva and Fat Chocobo, but for Leviathan, Bahamut and Pride & Joy, Barret is far better. Leviathan spends half of the match just flying around, Barret has a better chance at surviving Bahamut's Megaflare due to higher HP, and Pride & Joy heats up the ground around him which makes engaging him in close combat frustrating.
I went with Cloud, Aerith and Barret. Aerith was main spell damage and healing, Barret tank support and cloud main melee dps and counter against Bahamut’s melees.
Highly underused materia: Assess. Not a lot of people equip it & then they have the nerve to say why they are having difficulty with certain bosses. 😅 Gamers these days don't know how to strategize.
my first run through the game, Cloud had Assess for the entire thing. i scanned every enemy i saw! Rufus was easily the most challenging fight. hes just absurd! i just beat him on Hard mode an hour ago, hes not too bad when you have gotterdammerung.
@@steveh1474 Even without Götterdämmerung Rufus isn't that hard (even on hard). The only thing you need in P1 are, circle/ Punisher mode with R1 and Counterstance. Agreed. Let's say if it were done, not 7777 attack but unlimited ATB charges for a few seconds? Idk. Been trying it on Barret 3-C Soldier SCS but to no avail. I mean I can't get 7777HP 😅
You can use the auto life accessory and cure + magnify after the mega flare. Make sure to have atb when he counts one. Some weapons have reprieve abilitie (auto life once per battle).
@@elisehermann6094 there is only one magnify and you need to use it with cure. Manawall will cut damage to half. Top your hp when he count one. Use lots of hp plus. You won't die with 9999 hp. Save your limit breaks to when he count any number.
Filipe N super helpful! Thanks. Working on my HP ups leveling - I have 6 total so two per member. You thinking barret, cloud and tifa and put the healing and magnify on barret ?
Is it true that Barret is the best healer in the Remake part 1? I heard there is a fast ATB build for Barret that allows him to spam heals to the party.
yeah - abilities that let him take hits for the party, block damage, and healing that's relative to damage taken that doesn't use mp = pretty good 'blocker' ish ally
@@The482075 sure and i get why - tanks are basically absorbing damage so typically have to be y'know, TAKING the hits themselves however barret's abilities let him absorb some of the damage taken by any ally - regardless if he was hit or not - which is where this sort of idea shines since he's got damage intercept ish abilities, and is able to have personal buffs to reduce damage, he can be in a 'tank' ish role from wherever on the battlefield - no need to be up close and personal or drawing aggro or anything like that combine with 'wall' effects to reduce damage entirely and 'magnify' to be able to share that wall spell with everyone, and a 0 mp way of healing damage, and he's able to absorb a lot of punishment wherever he's at as for 'healing' the entire party, kinda eh on that specifically i think - he's good for mitigating damage to everyone and redirecting it to himself (which is again mitigated somewhat) then healing that damage for no mp - but 'healing everyone' is basically the same as others, iirc - cure + magnify OR pray - he doesn't get a skill that heals all allies hp but these methods still work fine but yeah - his 'increased hp' bonuses and 'healing is doubled on yourself if below 50% hp' bonuses on the 'big bertha' weapon make him a total badass in the healing department - as well as being able to fill the AP gauge really fast at range the only issue is the mp cost of spells - and with using chakra to heal yourself if really low, or pray to heal everyone some, there's no mp cost for healinng - plus i think both of these aren't based on magic stat which is nice (iirc prayer is based on max health or so, and chakra heals a % of missing hp which is doubled if below 50% hp with that barret weapon passive) aerith would be better off with cure + magnify (as it scales off of magic and could heal shit tons of hp or regen everyone easier) but barret can have an almost mp less healer + tank setup (using the barrier skills still costs mp)
Nice thanks for sharing the magnify mp absorb legit used it last week to complete Hardmode, chakra on the main and prayer and chakra on the other two, only use curaga on the end boss and save mp as much as possible. The arcane ward with mp absorb magnify you get more mana back then you're spending XD
He should make a video of completing the 7 star challenge on hard mode. I tried the strategy by shinshinryu but its too damn hard once you get to Leviathan or Bahamut.....one mistake and you might as well start over.
It's almost upsetting how many materia are completely worthless, like item master, atb stagger, and auto cure. I hope that some of these materia get fixed or dont return at all for the second part. That is, if our materia gets stolen so we arent level 50 and overpowered in the beginning
ATB stagger isn't worthless. It instantly generates ATB charges when you stagger an enemy. Meaning you don't need to save up your ATB for after a stagger, you can use it to cause the stagger and immediately follow up with more spells and abilities. For enemies with short stagger durations, it makes it easy to pull off Infinity's End, Ray of Judgement, Maximum Fury, etc. Auto Cure, yes, that's about worthless.
ATB stagger useless? :o I always have a maxed one equipped on Tifa. I use it to increase the damage multiplier so quickly. It's very useful to deal max damage when an enemy is staggered.
I really wish this game was harder. Now that I got the platinum, Ive gotten a bunch of cool strats and setup videos but Im not inclined to try them because I already destroyed everything in the game. I wish I had a reason to look for this stuff before
A "Q" referring to your last combo mentioned in this video my friend!? I mean the game isn't crazy hard compared to other titles that are out there but your idea has me curipus now my friend!
Combined with his own damage reduction + most damage being redirected towards him would mean Barret would be the only one getting below half health after that move. Maybe you could use steel skin to stack with that as well. Hope I’m understanding that correctly
Right right right, I'm on hard mode now and boy it took me a frustrating moment to adjust to it since I went straight to the extra simulation runs omfg hahaha, but yeah I got it, unfortunately even with the triple stack of lifesaver/steadfast/steel skin/BARRIER and just a regular r1 guard, which I don't thinkll happen cause of thee animation unless maybe you aren't controlling him since cpu is better at blocking than attacking lol My point was that lifesaver doesn't cover damage for both party members only for 1 ya know? SOMEONE'S GOTTA DIE TODAY..! LOLOLZ
Alsoooo any ideas if you have 3* heal linked to MagnifY, then @Autocure on same person will they auto cast cure and always be magnified too? Haven't tested this yet, waste of a slot but I believe itd let me go berserk on anyone really
I beated reno on hard mode in the church using lightning + elemental (maxed out) in armor cus reno shoots out electric orbs when his health is halfway just let the orbs explode instant heal
warding+subversion is a waste of materia slots, tonnbery can't 1-shot the whole party so just equip revival to all characters and you are set (the materia you should always have on every char anyway, at least for hard)

I upgraded my PC at the end of last year to make it good enough for new games and streaming and will not be buying a PS5 unless they change their attitude. This happens every time Sony seems to be ahead in the market. They get arrogant and think they can do whatever till they need to be brought down a peg. The only reason they were ahead this generation is because Microsoft screwed up big time with the Xbox One when it released. Sony capitalized and here we are. Now Sony is right back where they were before, trying to enact stupid rules and ideologies on people. So until they realize that's not what people want. I'm not going to support them anymore. i defeated bahamut after he landed megaflare got my whole team wiped out except cloud at 1 hp don't ask me how though in the end i managed to revive and cure and that was it
It is definitely possible to survive megaflare...not sure about 2 though. I killed him right before he was about to launch his 2nd one. Thing is I only staggered him once....after that I just kept up my normal attacks till he died. In that fight only Tifa could absorb fire....so used her to distract Ifrit for free heals but I had to kill him as he was knocking out my other 2 team members. The fight with Pride and Joy though was refreshingly the easiest of all 5 fights...he is slow and damage output is not that fearsome for some super ultimate weapon.
@@Ephideltrance ah the five battle simulator yeah that i lose to behemoth and carbuncle is pain to survive 2 i'll need to choose the right materias for those battles i currently have twin stinger metal Knuckles and aerith's super staff
@@lascaossos I'd ditch the twin stinger. It's just way too weak. Use Hardedge for physical or Mythril Saber for magical (Hardedge is probably more useful here since your Cloud will likely be attacking in the front line). Reprieve is overall not a great skill, but it's useful against Bahamut...but I'd just use manawall instead. If you use manawall on everyone after he hits 2 (or 1) for his countdown, everyone will survive anyway (just remember to heal before it goes off). Also, with the much much higher damage output of something like Hardedge (almost 2x) you probably won't have to sit through a second mega flare since you'll either stagger him before the second one or just outright kill him. Also, save your ATBs for Infinity's End and time the attacks right. It does stupid damage with Hardedge and helps immensely. Only use an ATB outside that for emergency healing/revive or for a focused thrust if he's pressured. Outside of that, Metal Knuckles is good for Tifa...but you might want to consider Feathered Gloves. They're not quite as strong (120 vs 164), but they have much higher speed which means she gets ATB gauges much more frequently and stagger siphon is much more useful in these boss fights than bloodsucker. They're also more balanced for magic use like healing. For Aerith, I found the Silver Staff to be her most useful weapon. Gives her HP and MP, high respectable magic (120 vs 164 of Mythril Rod), and most importantly it gives MP reductions for attack and healing magic, reprieve, AND MP regen rate +50%. Obviously, you can beat everything in this game with any set up, but I found these worked really well. For materia I'd put healing on everyone (magnify for Aerith), revive on everyone, 2HP ups on everyone, and 1MP up on everyone. Steadfast block on Cloud definitely, parry on Tifa, barrier on 2 members, haste on 1 member (just cast it on who you're planning to use for the fight), and an elemental fire in Cloud's armor. Elemental fire allows him to be healed by Ifrit and ignore a lot of the BS of Pride and Joy. You could do the same for Tifa, but I chose Elemental ice in her armor so I could cruise through the first fight against Shiva playing as her. You could also consider having Aerith get a magic up materia and maybe lightning so you can deal with Leviathan when he flies up high. Also, don't neglect Aerith's Arcane Ward ability. Double casting (well more like 1.5 casting) can be immensely powerful and can really help with Stagger. Her ATB Ward is good too, but considering how often characters like Tifa (who benefit most from it) are having to move around the stage because of the bosses, it isn't as useful here.
@@KingShadowOmega Good advice and your setup was similar to mine although reprieve was helpful for me, and I had the fire absorb on Tifa and the ice absorb on Cloud...honestly, Shiva and Bahumut were the hardest for me. Fat Chocobo is annoying as hell when he summons tornberries....and they can sneak up on you when you pounding him away if one isn't careful. Beyond that Leviathan and Pride and Joy were the easier fights.
@@Ephideltrance Fat Chocobo was really easy for me since I had memorized all his attack patterns already from when I had refought him trying to get 300% stagger. Just some focused thrusts when he's pressured do tons of stagger damage. Triple slash (much easier with Hardedge) makes quick of his allies as it autotargets and hits multiple enemies. They only take a few hits to drop since they're not the full enemies after all. I agree that Pride and Joy was one of the easiest (ironically), but Leviathan was really annoying for me to fight because of that flight portion. On my first attempt, which I didn't have lightning on, the only way I could get him down was by summoning Bahamut lol.

Its great using Unbridled Strength as the 3rd atb attack on tifa to get the boost from skill materia and using it again so as to give atb boost to the entire party

For bahamut just use revival earrings or reprieve on two characters and give them revival materia, heal up quick after first megaflare and you'll be fine.

The ultimate atb booster.
Cloud, with a accessory that increases limit break on atb use,
Have focus? The material limit break that splits your atb in to 3,
Then spam discord triangle discord.
I defeated Bahamut by just summoning Carbuncle just before he did megaflare XD

Brilliant content! Funny how I thought I'd mastered this game because I beat absolutely everything on hard, but this morning I've watched just two of your videos this morning and I know now I'm still just an apprentice!
Tifa > cloud, I almost solo use here on solo enemy for the stagger spamming + L1(shortcut combos)
Thank you for taking the time to put these combos together. Helps me a lot for hard mode!
Wait... how in the hell didn’t I realise the sub Materia and ward combo can work together bruh my death count would be so much lower
Lul.
When I got ward, that's what I was looking at. The other Materia and the resistances they provide.
Probably cuz you didn't read anything
the one thing that disappoints me is that airith is not allowed to be used in many chapters in final fantasy 7 remake.
FANTASTIC advice!! I made sure to write all of it down lol.
Of course it’s the best summon, you literally paid for it lol
@@Anthroid9 actually many DLC items, etc aren't all that useful throughout a full playthrough. Carbuncle is the only exception here as cactaur and chocobo chick become useless fast. That is mainly because he is the only healing/support summon so far. Hopefully, next installment gives us Phoenix...an offensive carbuncle basically.
@Captain Caveman that's fair and true, then there's situations like the whole of chapter 9 without regaining much if any MP unless you use soul drain, making battling the he'll house a pain in the tucus.

@@imaweeb8417 yeah. My bad
I think it would be cool to be able to control enemies in the battle arena. Such as enemies you have, assessed, staggered, and maybe manipulated. Have to meet the requirements to be able to use them. That would be pretty fun and different.
I can see i dont understand Materia AT ALL!. Thanks for making this, helped me a lot :) Go Tifa! kicking ass and taking Names!
Your videos are amazing and very helpful. Thanks!
the magnify+fire and mp absorb+fire is awesome thanks!
Awesome, thanks. On my 2nd hard play thru and focusing on more efficient combat.
I was so pissed I missed the element matera every single time. Only found out about it after it was too late for me to get
That HP absorb with Deadly Dodge is skmething I didnt think of!
Synergy+Poison on an inactive character is very useful. They apply bio without you needing to do anything.
I wonder if ATB Assist will activate from one cast of a spell on an arcane ward, that would be crazy
Will hp absorption with a fire materia proc with elemental damage with fire materia? I mean, if you're attackig with fire element and damage with fire element, will you heal every time you damage enemies?
I feel like the barrier skills run out way too quick, even with maxed magnify.
Makes perfect sense if you ask me. Reducing incoming damage by whooping 50% is no joke.
try using it with enchanted ring equipped along with a weapon that extends buffs...lasts fairly longer that way.
Magnify shortens the duration of any buff or debuff materia attached to it. You need the accessory or the weapon upgrades that increase the duration of buffs cast by the character if you want to last longer
Darc Hart94 Some people just don’t pay attention to their weapon duff.
I beat this game thanks to you man Thanks
One of the most underrated and underused combo : HP Absorption Materia + Enemy Skill Materia. It works great for Algid Aura and Spirit Siphon, and heals a lot as well. Unfortunately, it won't work with Self Destruct and barely has noticeable effects with Bad Breath.
That's the combo I have running with Cloud since I got it. Sad that Self destruct sucks :(
I love Enemy Skill with HP Absorb.
@@ultimate_pawnch actually I've tired that, but seems to only work if the weapon equipped as the reprieve skill
coolerdude42 it is survivable regardless of the weapon but it isn’t 100% I think. There’s a per cent chance listed on the materia based on the level
Good thumbnail. That’s the correct choice 👌🏻
So for the Skill Master Materia, let's say you use Fire, Fira, & Firaga for the 1st activation... Can you then use Fire, Fira, & then Cure to get it a 2nd time?
Just want to be sure I got this right. Thanks in advance! 😁
Thank you 🙏
Do you recommend having all 3 linked slots on the weapons? Or only 2 linked slots?
Dope builds
element=hp absorb, element=mp absorb, element=magnify, first strike, magic up x2, mp up. most fights = 3 seconds
Care to tell us where you found your third elemetal materia?
Euler007 they mean element like fire wind or ics, not the elemental materia
@@anwarbaroudi1498 In that case he's using six materia slots for that magnified spell that refunds some mp and heals the caster. That's a big slot commitment when the most you can have is 10 slots. I'd rather have enemy skill + hp absorb and free up four slots.
Thanks. That was great.
Knowledge bomb continues appeciate all the tips
How would you design the fighting styles of Cait Sith, Cid, Red XIII, Vincent and Yuffie?
So with elemental materia, depending what slot I place it in determines if I get the weapon or armor buff?
Does go absorption work if you have the linked element on a linked elemental materia slot ? So that your elemental basic attacks for that materia will heal you?
Honestly, Hard Mode is so great in this game!! Really lets you get creative w your loadouts.
ATB Assist unfortunately seems to have an extremely short time before you can use your next ATB bar and get the bonus. For example, Cloud can't even fit two Bravers in fast enough to get the bonus to activate. It only seems to work well on Tifa as a result of how fast all of her skills are.
No love for enemy skill?
I wouldn't say underrated.... Not hating on vid, just was expecting weird underrated combos.
1- Common meta strat
2- Also common meta
3- Very situational for immunity to certain status ailments but can help with other bosses that aren't Tonberry
4- When linking for casts you CAN NOT shortcut a magnify spell so it requires command menu.
5- Yeah
6- Great tips for a materia not explained well in game
7- Pretty much how Barret's character is designed to work if people choose to play him that way.
yeah it feels like it's just sort of an odd uninformed take when 'linking materia together' is an 'underused strategy'
like did you even play the first one or hear ANYTHING about it?
I only found Regen useful for removing poison! It will not mitigate hardmode damage, you will die before you recover any health.
This is great advice! You've given this noob hope for beating the hard challenges!
Put a magic up and the healing carcanet on the character and try Chakra and pray again
Pray and chakra are your go to heal on hard mode. Especially on long chapters since you have to conserve mp.
would it be OP if they make like 2 link materia slot? instead of using 4 materia slot, we'll only be using 3slot
Atb assist + skillmaster + refocus on Tifa. Basically you can spam commands constantly and your teammates will get bonuses all the time. Makes hard mode easier than the first run. Its just broken.
QUESTION:
Who are the best 3 party members to use in the Shinra Battle Sim for the 7 star boss challenge?!?
Edit: Finally beat that mutha.....jus got the plat too!!!
Cloud, Barret and Aerith imo. Aerith solely for her healing.
RichaDee Aerith is a no brainer, I think Tifa or Barrett is preference

You can use the auto life accessory and cure + magnify after the mega flare. Make sure to have atb when he counts one. Some weapons have reprieve abilitie (auto life once per battle).
Filipe N is there only one magnify material? Would magnify using manawall (or whatever it’s called) keep me from dying in the final count down blast?
@@elisehermann6094 there is only one magnify and you need to use it with cure. Manawall will cut damage to half. Top your hp when he count one. Use lots of hp plus. You won't die with 9999 hp.

You can stop him from counting if you damage him a lot. Save your limit breaks to when he count any number.
Filipe N super helpful! Thanks. Working on my HP ups leveling - I have 6 total so two per member. You thinking barret, cloud and tifa and put the healing and magnify on barret ?
@@elisehermann6094 i normally use it on tifa cause she has better magic. But you could use barret. He'll probably die less since he's a range.
@@leeman27534 Ranged tank. I normally think of tanks as close quarters.
@@The482075 sure and i get why - tanks are basically absorbing damage so typically have to be y'know, TAKING the hits themselves
however barret's abilities let him absorb some of the damage taken by any ally - regardless if he was hit or not - which is where this sort of idea shines
since he's got damage intercept ish abilities, and is able to have personal buffs to reduce damage, he can be in a 'tank' ish role from wherever on the battlefield - no need to be up close and personal or drawing aggro or anything like that
combine with 'wall' effects to reduce damage entirely and 'magnify' to be able to share that wall spell with everyone, and a 0 mp way of healing damage, and he's able to absorb a lot of punishment wherever he's at
as for 'healing' the entire party, kinda eh on that specifically i think - he's good for mitigating damage to everyone and redirecting it to himself (which is again mitigated somewhat) then healing that damage for no mp - but 'healing everyone' is basically the same as others, iirc - cure + magnify OR pray - he doesn't get a skill that heals all allies hp but these methods still work fine
but yeah - his 'increased hp' bonuses and 'healing is doubled on yourself if below 50% hp' bonuses on the 'big bertha' weapon make him a total badass in the healing department - as well as being able to fill the AP gauge really fast at range the only issue is the mp cost of spells - and with using chakra to heal yourself if really low, or pray to heal everyone some, there's no mp cost for healinng - plus i think both of these aren't based on magic stat which is nice (iirc prayer is based on max health or so, and chakra heals a % of missing hp which is doubled if below 50% hp with that barret weapon passive)
aerith would be better off with cure + magnify (as it scales off of magic and could heal shit tons of hp or regen everyone easier) but barret can have an almost mp less healer + tank setup (using the barrier skills still costs mp)
I used barrier +steelskin + lifesaver on bahamut fight and his megaflare did maybe 3k DMG on hard.
And yeah atb assist and skill master is mental can heal yourself through anything with prayer when everyone has it. Works out better than haste XD
Where is the "MP Absorption" Materia found?
One I believe is a reward from Chomley for doing the battle intel where you Master 12 types of materia.
@Simon Ellis, Thanks I found it and got it.
He should make a video of completing the 7 star challenge on hard mode. I tried the strategy by shinshinryu but its too damn hard once you get to Leviathan or Bahamut.....one mistake and you might as well start over.
Nevermind......after 100+ tries I FINALLY defeated em all. This happened last night. lol.
I always have a maxed one equipped on Tifa. I use it to increase the damage multiplier so quickly. It's very useful to deal max damage when an enemy is staggered.

I mean the game isn't crazy hard compared to other titles that are out there but your idea has me curipus now my friend!
You misunderstood, Barret casts barrier/magnify first, so all team has barrier and then casts Lifesaver
Combined with his own damage reduction + most damage being redirected towards him would mean Barret would be the only one getting below half health after that move. Maybe you could use steel skin to stack with that as well. Hope I’m understanding that correctly
He only briefly mentions it but he also has steadfast block on Barret so he'll reduce even more damage by blocking.
Right right right, I'm on hard mode now and boy it took me a frustrating moment to adjust to it since I went straight to the extra simulation runs omfg hahaha, but yeah I got it, unfortunately even with the triple stack of lifesaver/steadfast/steel skin/BARRIER and just a regular r1 guard, which I don't thinkll happen cause of thee animation unless maybe you aren't controlling him since cpu is better at blocking than attacking lol
My point was that lifesaver doesn't cover damage for both party members only for 1 ya know?

Crackhead
i defeated bahamut after he landed megaflare got my whole team wiped out except cloud at 1 hp don't ask me how though in the end i managed to revive and cure and that was it
It is definitely possible to survive megaflare...not sure about 2 though.
I say normal people and not trash
