Homelessness, drug addiction, and mental health issues are often symptoms of much deeper, underlying problems-things like trauma, abuse, neglect, and broken family systems. These issues can often trace back to early experiences that shape a person’s ability to cope with life as an adult. Without addressing these root causes, the cycle tends to repeat itself, no matter how much you try to address the surface-level symptoms.

Don't forget about another issue that doesn't seem to be addressed: Ex-offenders released from prison. From what I have read, many Ex-offenders in California, unless they have family, come to Skid Row because there is nowhere for them to go. Yes, Ex-offenders made their bed hard and got to lie in it, but what a consequence -little to no chance for a steady job or an apartment because of background checks, credit checks, etc. That should sober anyone up to try to live right.
The state got 24 billion dollars to fix this!! Doesnt anyone know this? Where did the money go? Why isnt anyone covering this?

I'm homeless in Las Vegas and I say my prayers for myself every chance I get and count my blessings that I'm in good health and that I have a very good job washing pots and pans and great co workers and a very understanding boss who puts up with me and I pray for all those customers who walk through both doors into the business I have nothing better to do but tosave my money everything is provided for me I work Monday through Saturday and 4 pm I walk to a local church to have a meal then I walk to the public library to close out the day, it's so sad that the United States of America has come to this I hope more homeless people would find Jesus Christ into their lives and be filled with good health and prosperity

They said on the news the City supplies these homeless people with tents to sleep in because they just don't have any more room to put them and take care of them just amazing how California wound up 😢

Because it's not the President's job to fix this. It is those elected in the State jobs to fix this. You voted for them so y'all need to stop whining about it Trump's job because it's not. Y'all voted in California for the very people who let the drugs come in that destroyed all these lives and put them where they are.
This is so sad, so many empty buildings where these poor lost souls could live, take some of the prison inmates to help clean up the streets and also have the ones that are on probation help take care of these homeless people. Most of the homeless have mental illness, their minds truly aren’t healthy. Anyway it’s just very sad for anyone to live like this 😢

I lived there in 1976/77 for about ten months; I was 19 years old and was unemployed all that time but I would earn money passing out flyers putting them on doors or mailboxes or on the fences next to the houses and made anywhere from a few dollars to ten dollars on a good day.
There wasn’t nowhere’s near as many homeless people back then and it was paradise compared to the current situation in the most famous skid row in the country.
