@@SpookGaming. I do that and nothing happens... it's okay. I play on a modded server. So, the fuel actually comes pretty cheap, so there is ample amount for trial and error. Could it be my mouse? It's a gaming style mouse... so, I am just wondering if that could be it.
@@tack3132 if you can look up and down when not in a minicopter I dont see why it wouldnt work when in one? Do you have some special mouse setup activated or something? Maybe check startup options for controls and see if its defaulted to something else
Can confirm the minicopters are now repairable using a hammer and metal frags. You can also stop decay by parking it under a roof. NOTE: if you park one on your roof overnight and it decays (blows up), the fireballs can travel through floors/walls and destroy deployables/kill you. I found this out the hard way haha.
I did not know it was subject to decay. That would explain why I'd hear their explosions so often when the PVE server I was on when they were introduced was spawning them left-and-right. The server I'm on now is also PVE with decay turned off and (it might be a separate attribute) the minicomputer is also full-health and indestructible which makes the usual crash landing very interesting since you don't blow up and die like you're supposed to-you just stay seated and the world goes crazy around you until it comes to rest.
I would try to loo felt with my mouse and jump out last second before it blew up and killed me I die more to wooden barricades on my base then minicopters...
In line with the vehicle repair using hammer and metal frags - the passenger can repair while you are flying - as long as passenger has said hammer and metal frags. As a side note re: video feedback - I'd call/describe the mouse Left/Right as Aircraft Roll (as pitch is specifically, afaik, used to describe the nose attitude of the aircraft). Again, just semantics. Good video. Edit: I came here to learn how to drive along the ground - thanks for the CTRL tip to keep it as a maneuverable ground vehicle!! Exactly what I was after.
No wonder when I jumped on a server after a 3 month break and had to test this thing. I crashed after 20 meters blowing myself up. Only because I wanted to look around and thought only control you need is wasd :D
Thanks for the very straight forward video with no stupid intro. I'm fine at flying, no tutorial needed for that. Hell even the first time I flew I was able to get to my destination and land without even knowing the controls. However, I had no idea how people were just rolling on the ground. This video solved that problem for me very fast, thank you :)
You can repair them with a repair hammer and metal frags. And turning with a&d is the tail rotor. Rolling turns with your mouse are very dangerous in Rust.
you can actually make it hover upside down, however flying I think is not possible and only if you're fast enough you're able to do a full barrel roll ^^

Me and my friend were at oilrig, looting everything, and we finished, we had full inventories, there was a minicopter on top casually waiting for us and everything was going so perfect and we were both like: something bad has to happen. and then my friend that has never flied a minicopter just starts flying it and after 4-5 seconds he's just dead luckily we were able to find his body-
First time I had no idea you controlled with mouse and I veered into a cliff right away. This will help a lot. I guess turning DPI down for this thing will help maneuver it better.
You dont know how many times I've died trying to park minicopters in my garage not knowing you can use crouch to drive it. Such vital information and I'm like 2k hours in!

I got the game 2 days ago and today I found one by my camp and got exited well I put some fuel in and mounted on and thought this should be easy wasd right ? Well I went up a little then went backwards into trees then flipped and I died !! I didn’t have a sleeping bag so I spawned far away

So, I am surprisingly good at this! I paused 3 minutes in, jumped on an intoxicated sandbox server, started cruising! I was so pleased. Then I realized I don't know how to land, and damaged my heli several times trying to figure it out on my own, then came back. 10/10 would recommend
If you can get on top of the building quickly if you can dodge the SAMs when you pop up, then hitting Brad with high velocity rockets or the high explosive what some people call C4.
Was getting chased by fully geared guys with my friend and a helicopter was there, i thought great our way out! Put the fuel in and ended up going up and back jumped out and died . Very nice controls
I swear to God that you will explain how to keep the helicopter and not break it, because whatever we buy will be lost tomorrow. Is the helicopter a means of staying like a car with a hydraulic jack?

This made me take a break from rust. I kept dying over and over playing solo, never got a weapon better than a crossbow. But then i found a waterpipe on a road box, i got sooooo happy. 100 meters away there was a minicopter and i told myself "idk how to pilot, but i have a gun, fuck it" I got so frustrated i uninstalled rust and after 3 months i came back xD
i was able to reach the top of the dome for the first time in my rust life because of this video. I suck at jump puzzles so landing ontop of it was perfect.
I am not sure if you added it in the video, but if you point your mouse forward a bit and holding W the whole time you should be able to keep your altitude while gaining speed a lot more. Also when doing a quick landing, pull the mouse back a bit while holding S the whole time, and slightly more risky you can also turn the helicopter while doing that and it should slow it down some more.
I had to speed through this video cause I saw a sniper tower with windows open and I went up there with a copter and stole their guns without them knowing. This video definitely helped.
Finally, an actual video on how to fly the mini copter, really did help me out, my friends now trust me in flying 11/10 would fly again 12/10 would watch video again
@@SpookGaming lol yeah I honestly didnt think you were that guy from stompers video. Just messing around. Different note, these heli are the absolute best! I have spent a few hours on creative fine tuning my flying and they are really fun once you get real good at them.
Parking these beauties under a roof/inside no longer stops decay, it only slows it down.
so is there no way to prevent decay of mini's?

What if you were to park it on a random base overnight? Just a really long timed explosive.

Actually when you're good at flying, max DPI becomes essential.

I tried flying this thing with 2 hours of grinding loot on me and immediately crashed let’s just say I was very fucking salty today

i guess the control gets better when u set your mouse sensivity on lower and then after some experience add little :D

How do you move at such a high speeds ? When i hold W and roll my mouse forward to tilt the front of the heli a little bit it moves so slow.
I went and bought one got it stuck in bandit. Bought a 2nd one crashed it. Bought a third one and by miracle made it home

because rust is an unforgiving game with a steep learning curve. the devs wanted the vehicles to be hard to drive.

How do u put fuel while flying?
Hold alt and look back towards the engine, you can open it and add fuel that way. Cheers
