- A Shocking Surprise was next tonight, I heard 27W say 'that train looks good' as they passed by the signals at Lowe, then THIS came around the curve...
974 Southbound OCS (Officers Car Special) !!! With a very cool crew!!! **see notes below for credits**

Very cool, I had thought he was going to terminate in Whittaker but looks like they are taking him all the way into Inman this time, he's going on a inspection trip up the Piedmont on Thursday. I see the sun was out too, now im really wishing id gone up there! Great catch.

This was the only time (so far) I've been able to catch the OCS. I agree about the fence and stuff, that would be too easy for them...lol.

So I take it you didn't know this was coming then? It caught us by surprise as well when we seen it on the Pittsburgh Line last year. Needless to say, awesome catch Gene! I'm not trying to be a smart ass or anything, but #4275 & #4276 are actually F7B's. Great video!

As usual great video. What a catch. This is the train I've been trying to see for three years now. Never seems to make it to the east side. I have an o-scale version of it on our layout but never seen the real thing.

Glad you finally caught that sucker! You should try joining one of the yahoo groups that specifically track these type of trains back east in your territory, just as out here in the west many trace UP and BNSF specials (when they make their apparences every so often!) Just an idea, there are some great sites that can help you out there so this type of sightings aren't always a suprise...but still just as cool! Nice catch and video!

the OCS runs on the NS Line right by my house. Maybe one day ill see it! Its the Masters Train that goes by i believe NS OCS 955

@RailfanSouthern They are heading up the Piedmont Division on Thursday, so they won't be going up through Dalton / Chattanooga.

It is, use to be better when you could record from over here. Now you can't NS police will run you off or ticket you. I just record from across the intersection at the hardware store.
