Love these tips. I’m a wife, mom of 3 and a teacher. I get up super early 4:45 am workout and get to work at 6:30 am which is 1 1/2 hours before my contract starts to get my grading and lesson plans done. People think I’m crazy, but by doing this I’m able to be wifey and mom when I get home and not worry take any time away from my family because I do all that stuff while they’re still sleeping.

Sorry my comment has nothing to do with the video but I’ve got two questions:
1.: At what age do your kids start to be in their shared rooms together? How do you manage that they don’t disturb each other?
2.: When they do no longer nap (I know yours nap very long :-) ), how do you teach them to do their “quiet time” on their own?
    Thanks a lot!
Ps great work you are doing!!! :-)

This is so helpful. I love your philosophy with parenting! You do not shame, you reduce stigma, you give great advise! Thank you for including dads and saying parents instead of making the whole thing directed at women/mom. I just became a mom 3 weeks ago but as a non-mom I enjoyed your parenting content for YEARS!

I love the last tip of "B+ is your goal. Anything higher is a bonus." I am naturally a bit of a perfectionist and a few years ago I hit a wall and began having some anxiety issues. One of the things that helped me so much with getting back in balance was adopting a similar mantra, "Good enough is good enough!" Thanks for the tips!

YESSS to the 'I'm at work' phrase! haha Some of our family members just think my husband and I are 'home all day' and are free to watch their kids or be at their beck and call 24/7 etc. because what else are we doing?! haha We've had to literally tell them- we WORK at home we are not sitting around all day doing nothing. haha why this has to be explained is beyond me but there is definitely a level of respect when you tell someone you're working rather than 'on my computer' etc. Yes.... even if some family members STILL don't understand it. Whatever. hah.

Also helpful: notify people around you that they CANNOT disturb you when you're working as soon as you can. It'll save you the offense that they'd take if you hadn't. Let them know that you're very serious about it as early into relationship as you can to avoid some frustration and bad vibes. Tell them that if you work on your 100 now there'll be more time for them later. TELL THEM

I didn’t just LOVE this video, I really NEEDED it. I did your productivity bootcamp last year and it’s amazing. This year I quit my 9-5 job, started an online business, started a youtube channel, having (only) 2 small kids (at kindergarden) and a husband who’s freaking out more than I am. So now I’m such a mess, that I keep forgeting I cannot have it all AT ONCE. So thank you for this video to remind me about that!!! 🤗 (p.s. In one of my videos I talk about you and the productivity bootcamp 😍). And I admire you a lot for having 6 kids and such a great work and family ethic. Amazing. 🤗🙌

    " the laundry machine"...
Otherwise known as the the washing machine.
But, honestly, i am a "work from home mom" & so far this is the only video ive found on youtube about this subject that gives GOOD, real, tips. Not things like, " light a candle to relax" ... or... " make your bed. " It's actionable steps!

I loved! I am starting making money from my TH-cam videos and it is hard for me to make videos because my family don’t see it as a job either my husbandso if I am filming or editing my husband is like “don’t do it right now, that is not important in this moment “ so making blocks of time would help me a lot, also letting know them that I AM WORKING’ would help too! Thank you so much for your advices!!! ❤️

I LOVE the work reference. That is the best advise! I was a stay at home mom and "everyone" always asked me to baby sit and I don't think they realized how busy I was at home. Now I am a doctoral student and I can use that as my answer but I really wish I had known your advise back then when I was home with my kids. Loved that advise.

So true on working at home. Especially when it's your own business. People tend to think it's a hobby or you have tons of free time. I usually work on my business during my son's nap and 9pm to 2am. Batching my tasks and block scheduling has helped a lot.

These are great tips! I started motherhood as a stay at home mom, then started a business. As the business grew, I kept the same SAHM duties. I now have a business, a marketing job and own/manage 2 rental properties (soon to be 3). I’ve been struggling with making my family time really count because I feel constantly pulled to my phone or job duties. Going to try these out!

Thank God, a mom that puts her family to work because a mother never has to be the ONLY one working. I grew up with every family member having tasks in the house. Now that I'm married and I have a baby, my husband 'works' around the house as well. Both of us have a job outside of the home, and both of us do the household and take care of our baby and each other. When our child (hopefully more future children as well) is big enough, he will definitely clean his own room and make his own lunch. Just like I did when I was a small child. My brother and I were baking a pancakes at 5 years old and we grew up very independent, our mother thought us how to be self sufficient at an early age. Thank you mom!!! A mother is suppose to teach her children and her husband that everyone takes care of themselves ánd takes care of each other! Chapeau for this tip and the rest of the wonderful very useful video!

I ALWAYS block my time. I work from home myself. I spent a LONG time ignoring mental health. I would immediately get up & work. No time with my husband, my kids, no workout. One day, I lost my mind and threw an epic hormonal fit, and my husband sat me down & said “you’re not happy, this isn’t working, you need to find a better balance”
I cried and cried then I had a conversation with my boss.
Now I work from 10-7 then off hours if I have an international call. Best decision I ever made.

Thanks for sharing! Freezer meals also work for college students or anyone living on their own. Cooking is a life skill we all need to teach our children. If they learn how to grocery shop, meal plan, & make healthy freezer meals then we are setting them up for a healthier lifestyle when they are on their own. Plus, freezer meals saves them time when they are already stressed about studying and juggling their social life or work life. Children will also learn the art of saying, “ its study time” when it comes to their friends. They need to learn to put their education first by prioritizing it by saying no it’s study time before they socialize or do other fun things. Then their friends & other people in their life will see that they take their education seriously and when they say it’s study time people will give them the time/ space they need.🙂
