Caine being afraid of losing track of who’s an NPC likely means it’s happened before. Which means one of three things: 1. Caine accidentally killed a human thinking they were an NPC. 2. One of the characters in the circus is currently an NPC, and Caine completely forgot. 3. Caine accidentally killed a human, and one of the characters in the circus is an NPC from that past adventure.
If any of them are NPCs I feel like Kinger has the best chance solely due to having the same kind of eyes as Caine. The Fudge also uses floating sphere eyes, but idk if that says anything.
@@hyper_lynx I think a better reason for why it could be Kinger is because he has been there the longest, is basically insane, but hasn't abstracted. Idk feels like something ig.

Which is why he holds that expression when discussing about Kaufmo's funeral, he's reminded that they are in fact people underneath the flamboyant nature of the circus, yet he shoves that feeling down as soon as he realizes it to stay sane. And Caine is just an AI that does not fully understand humanity.

i just noticed that the dream at the start has Jax looking down while patronizing Pomni, but the memory at the end doesn’t have Jax helping Pomni up, it has Zooble and Gangle with Ragatha.
I like the theory that Jax is a NPC. Explains why he is such a poopy head all the time. He hates the people for being real and he hates the NPCs because he is one of them and they remind me of his meaningless existence
Well here's the thing. Before the funeral, Pomni was the new person walking in an already established friend group. Fish out of water. She had no reason to trust anyone. And she just went off the assumption that the feeling was mutual. However, Ragatha and everyone allowed Pomni to see them at their most vulnerable. Showing that they were perfectly willing to accept her into their family. Except Jax, who walked off. Because he clearly doesn't trust anyone.
Y'know, I'm just gonna say it, I feel really bad for Gangle. With the constant bullying from Jax and her being depressed most of the time. I wouldn't be surprised if she would be next to become abstracted.
The show wants you to think Gangle or Kinger are at high risk, I think. While that's not necessarily incorrect I think the people who are closest are Ragatha and Jax, honestly. Firstly I don't think Goose is going to make serial abstracting a big part of the plot. I don't think it's everyone's fate to be abstracted, partly because death for the sake of death is just bad writing. Kaufmo's abstraction worked because it was an introduction to the concept of death and "afterlife" in this universe. I only think characters are going to - and should - abstract once their arcs are concluded. When there's nothing more for Gangle to offer as a character, it's her time. It doesn't seem like the source of Gangle's anguish is the deconstruction of her reality, and moreso her involvement in the reality. Like, she has suspension of disbelief. Her feelings are entirely contained within this plane of reality. She has coping mechanisms, even if those coping mechanisms are figurines and body pillows (Gooseworx Q&A post). And as a character, her two-masks allegory is too interesting for her to abstract like that. What could happen before she abstracts is a confrontation with Jax. Lashing out. Or maybe she becomes reclusive like Zooble is. Or maybe it has to do with her comedy mask. Not that it will break again in this arc, but even the comedy mask will wear out. She'll stop crying and being "submissive and agreeable" and just start being apathetic. Stop caring. Something will noticeably change, and that will lead to an arc that results in either character development or abstraction. In essence, it seems like she's got a while before she abstracts, but it's definitely on the board later in the show. Kinger/Zooble/Pomni/Jax aren't that relevant to this discussion :/ but in summary, Pomni can't yet as the mascot and Kinger/Zooble would seem too much like fish food if they were next. And it would be unsatisfying to let Jax be an ambiguous ass and then die randomly, but something's bugging him. Between his lack of involvement with death, his bloodlust, and chaotic tendencies like blackmail, it's like he sees the world as a chain of reactions. And for Ragatha, I just think she's really good at hiding it. She's careful and cares for others and has trained her suspension of disbelief, but she looks like she feels she's only here to save other people. While the other characters have something going for them in terms of grander scale writing, what is Ragatha? She's the straight woman. She's the one who helps Pomni fit in, she's the stand-up opposition to Jax, she's the funeral organizer, the willing volunteer, the one who gives all these little bits of herself to the people around her until there's nothing left. To write this well, Goose would of course need to drop hints that her morale is shifting and breaking. I don't think anyone else needs to notice until it's too late. But Pomni should definitely be first. And if Ragatha does abstract, that's a lot of guilt you have there... would you like to fuel a new story arc with all that extra guilt you have laying around... Additionally it should only happen after Pomni is settled and begins to develop. I think she can fill the ecological niche that Ragatha's absence leaves behind. And, to shift the focus back to Gangle, once Ragatha is gone, Jax is left unchecked. Things start going even more wrong. This could go one of two ways - Gangle has an arc first in which she is bullied and manipulated to an even more extreme level, or Jax immediately goes megalomaniac mode. But I think that would come closer to the conclusion of the show anyway, so Gangle is probably first if anything happens to her at all. The fact that Kinger remembered more stuff like when Ragatha was first adjusting when he the bucket was covering his head and it was dark, it’s like foreshadowing to episode three
19:01 I believe both Jax and the background basically default pose dances in this scene were animated by the same guy, Kevin Temmer. He's the lead animator if you didn't know already, and he also animated the fudge solo.
DND style for real. Jax is the rogue who steals from the party, drags them into unnecessary danger, and is just murderhoboing their way through the adventure hahaha
16:48 Also, what's up with the teapots? Is that important? Hinting at something to come? Or is it just to sell the idea of an irrational, weird plane of existence?
It's a reference to a teapot model that is usually included in 3D software to test out lighting and rendering. It's often used as an in-joke between 3D animators, especially since it was one of the first 3D models made and rendered with attempts at realistic lighting.
Humans are just as preprogrammed as Gummigoo: The eons of programming that our ancestors gave us by successful procreation called instincts and a SHIT LOAD of Evolutionary Psychology. The choices our parents made as our minds developed, pictures, shapes, music, textures. The random quantum level effects that physics has on neurons firing or not. Our selves and experiences after our personality and ego sorta... congeals is such a tiny portion of our psychological makeup that we are all basically... just a spec of what makes us 'us'.
Fun fact, there's a commercial that straight up calls out the content farms and the fandom. It also revealed Cain doesn't know what the internet is. Also, the teapots are a programming reference, specifically the Utah teapot. It is a simple and somplex shape, and was used to test lighting.
I feel like the reason Jax is such an asshole and doesn’t seem to care for the others well-being is because he knows Cain won’t let them die/feel pain so there’s no real consequences for whatever he does, and he’s just trying to make things as exciting for himself as possible
6:20 Jax was always an _A s s h o l e_ I don't understand why people loved him so much and now all of a sudden they all hate Jax and say _"Jax changed"_ he did not change, he was always an _A s s h o l e_ 19:57 I know Kwite, I know... *_GUMIGOO NOOOOOOOO !!_* 😭😭😭
Jax was always a jerk but the content farms misread the character and messed up people's perception of him 😭 I mean, I like him. But that's despite the Jax-hole-ness
17:00 actually he didn't! Those teapot are default models in some 3D software (they're in Maya I think) and they are great models to test how the textures react to light! So we're still in something that is supposed to be out of bounds for tests !!
Yeah, when Pommi was bonding with Gummigoo, I could almost feel the amount of death flags he was carrying. After all, what would a series about existantial crisis' in a digital space, do with a character that has binded with one of the main cast, after coming to terms with being an npc, and you have Caine as the Ringmaster?
11:55 Fun fact: There's a scale table for suffering, with amount of people affected on one axis, and severity of the suffering on the other! Species-wide extinction is in the worst corner, because it affects everyone in a species and induces maximum suffering in all existing people! The thing about this is that there's a secret, WORSE corner beyond an extinction event! To be there, it has to either be really SEVERE suffering, or affect MORE than all existing people! An example of this is the fates of the human species-es in All Tomorrows, affecting both all currently existing people and all future descendants of those people. Another example is a sentient (meaning capable of experiencing emotions, not necessarily self-aware) program or AI induced with some painful torture, then replicated or copied across thousands of different machines, which is pretty similar to what Kwite mentioned, and what led me to write this whole tangent comment.
Something that I like about seeing him react to this vid is that he pause the video everytime he talks to chat or similar, like, he doesn't keep it going and loses most of the video and their context when he starts watching it again. Like a lot of youtubers/streamers do and then complain that the video doesn't make sense, it really is infuriating to me when it happens and I really appreciate that he doesn't do it. (idk if he does this with everything, this is my first seeing him react to something)
i feel like this episode actually does alot to characterize jax. to me it seems like being an asshole is his way of coping with being trapped in tadc, thats what keeps him from going insane, that's how he entertains himself. he honestly might think of all of the characters as mere npcs and tries his best to enjoy the chaos
I would love to see Kwite check out one of Glitch's other shows, Murder Drones, some time. It's really good, in my opinion, my favourite Glitch show. Obviously no pressure to watch it, but I would highly recommend it :) Since they're made by the same studio, Murder Drones also includes some of the voice actors from The Amazing Digital Circus. Jax's voice actor, Michael Kovach, Sean chiplock, voice of Kinger, as well as the voice actress for The Gloink Queen from the pilot, Elsie Lovelock.
The Fudge is apparently a reference to The Greedy (a monster made of taffy from an animated Raggedy Anne and Andy film from I think the 40s that was... Well, it looked so trippy that Alice in Wonderland was mundane by comparison).

Kwite: He’s my new favorite character!
Me: *Oh no*
I was rewatching your reaction to the pilot yesterday and thought, “He should watch the second episode.” And then I wake up and here it is.
theres a theorie where gumigoo after he explodet started as a kid again and spends time with his ma again, like his life starts over again and i like to think of that
The fact that Kinger remembered more stuff like when Ragatha was first adjusting when he the bucket was covering his head and it was dark, it’s like foreshadowing to episode three
19:01 I believe both Jax and the background basically default pose dances in this scene were animated by the same guy, Kevin Temmer. He's the lead animator if you didn't know already, and he also animated the fudge solo.
9:33 if it was roblox physics, bro would be bouncing all over those walls, maybe get his arm stuck in the floor
gummigoo my beloved. i miss him
*security breach flashbacks*
18:31 OMG THATS WHAT MURDER DRONES IS ABOUT 😭😭 YOU CANT JUST DO THAT I SCREAMED. HE NEEDS TO WATCH MURDER DRONES IF HE LIKES TADC
DND style for real.
Jax is the rogue who steals from the party, drags them into unnecessary danger, and is just murderhoboing their way through the adventure hahaha
8:25 can’t believe they didn’t include the “I’ll tell Ragatha about the figurine thing”
@@syweb2its also one of the first 3d models most schools teach their students to make
Yeah In a summary, it’s just a 3d model which is has become a bit of an inside joke
Sometimes I think that when a character abstracts, they get thrown out of the circus and their abstracted model becomes an ai
Humans are just as preprogrammed as Gummigoo:
The eons of programming that our ancestors gave us by successful procreation called instincts and a SHIT LOAD of Evolutionary Psychology.
You good there, friend? I'm worried about you now.
@@labistellaire3983 Peachy!
Damm, so deep but I can definitely agree
I love how every character has their own rules when it comes to how they are animated, their expressions and how their bodies function
2:24
Caine and Bubble are not 'people.'
They are both AI that run the circus.
Thank you for continuing the series
My farts are better than Kwite’s farts 💨
Caine better watch his non-descript back, cause' I'm getting justice for gummigoo one way or another.
I needed this so bad. We are understaffed at work during mothers day weekend. I NEEEEDED this
6:20
Jax was always an _A s s h o l e_ I don't understand why people loved him so much and now all of a sudden they all hate Jax and say _"Jax changed"_ he did not change, he was always an _A s s h o l e_
19:57
I know Kwite, I know... *_GUMIGOO NOOOOOOOO !!_* 😭😭😭
Jax was always a jerk but the content farms misread the character and messed up people's perception of him 😭
I mean, I like him. But that's despite the Jax-hole-ness
I love how people got so upset that a jerk was… being a jerk.
11:50 well, prior they were 57 times less realistic according to Cane so this wasn't an issue before...
18:16 jax voice when he said he disappointed made me giggle 🤭🤭😍😍
Glitch also has another extremely good series called ,, murder drones "
11:55
Fun fact:
There's a scale table for suffering, with amount of people affected on one axis, and severity of the suffering on the other!
(idk if he does this with everything, this is my first seeing him react to something)
i feel like this episode actually does alot to characterize jax. to me it seems like being an asshole is his way of coping with being trapped in tadc, thats what keeps him from going insane, that's how he entertains himself. he honestly might think of all of the characters as mere npcs and tries his best to enjoy the chaos
i love jax because now we have a problem for every episode without caine even trying!
When did Kwite become a therapist? I just wanted to watch gummy gator have an existential crisis.
Kwite is now obligated to buy a gummigoo
Are we gonna talk about the realistic gummigoo or
20:44 The gloinks were also able to exist in the circus...
Gather the Gloinks was an in-house adventure
The gloinks weren't as self aware as Gummigoo though
"They're Australian" Glitch is an Australian company
The fact that Kwite skipped the “figurine thing” is wild
So sad that lankybox kidnapped them like I did to that child on October 14 in 1998
I would love to see Kwite check out one of Glitch's other shows, Murder Drones, some time. It's really good, in my opinion, my favourite Glitch show. Obviously no pressure to watch it, but I would highly recommend it :)
Since they're made by the same studio, Murder Drones also includes some of the voice actors from The Amazing Digital Circus. Jax's voice actor, Michael Kovach, Sean chiplock, voice of Kinger, as well as the voice actress for The Gloink Queen from the pilot, Elsie Lovelock.
The first 2 are funnier, but I've enjoyed it all. The serious parts are great. But I'm ready for a comedy ep.
The Fudge is apparently a reference to The Greedy (a monster made of taffy from an animated Raggedy Anne and Andy film from I think the 40s that was... Well, it looked so trippy that Alice in Wonderland was mundane by comparison).
17:31 just realized this sets up kinger in episode 3 really well
5:26 That caught me off guard 😂
that terrifying gummigoo dino in the thumbnail tho-
3:32 yea I don’t think bubble is a person , otherwise they wouldn’t be going everywhere cane is - and it was said that kinger was the first , if cane was then they would say cane was the first one here
petition to make kwite go into the digital circus (it's forceful)
“He forgot the name of his own DnD campaign” Me: drawing my DND npcs 😰
jax promising to let the fudge monster kill the candy villagers is giving the same energy as betraying the druids grove to the goblins in bg3
Every Jax fan after episode 1: He’s so funny
Every Jax fan after episode 2: we hate him
fun fact: in the final scene, pomni's hand i cought by all characters except for jax
(4:09) As an Australian can Americans really not tell the difference between British and Australian accents?? (She was Australian not British)
12:27 🎶mimimimimi,I AM THE GREIT MIGHT PUU AND IM GONA THROW MY SHIT AT YOU
Petition to force Kwite to watch Murder Drones and Meta Runner too.
11:25 rewatching the episodes and just seeing references for us that no one would of gotten before ep3 :3
4:48 I mean have you seen transformers 😂
I was watching this with my bf, and as soon as Gummigoo started getting more screen time my immediate reaction was “he’s gonna die”
I told my bf and he started denying it and saying “nooo he can’t die if he’s too liked”
I felt so sad (and validated) when he died.
Hey Gummigoo, you may not be real, but the moment is.
watching in horror as kwite says gummigoo is his favourite (i know exactly what will happen and i can only watch)
I dropped everything when i saw you uploaded
Caine and Bubble are NPC’s, and not people.
The fact that ALL of Zooble's lines got skipped in this video is *KILLING ME*
AND THEIR FUNERAL SCENE CMON MAN, *I'M DYING HERE-*
