Thanks for the video. I just bought a used 8274, and am tearing it down and rebuilding. Your videos are a great help.
Thanks. This video is 11 years old and is still useful.
Rebuilt mine with help from this video, great resource . Thanks
@FRUNTCASTER I should have the parts back from the powder coaters this week or early next - then I'll put it back together. I'll be listing where you can get the parts in the next two videos.
Thanks for watching!
Wow, this will come in handy when I get the time to rebuild and service my old and unused/untouched for 8 years 8274 !
Great VIDS Louis...
...thanks a lot!
Thank you for your time!
@eaxebxecxedx just a little sony hdr xr150, thanks for watching!
Excellent video. Can't wait for the follow-ups. ;o)
@Kahur2007 Thanks! More videos coming.
Thank you very much!
the patt yiu said check for good movement in the top end, how does that get removed? that is where my freespool is hanging up.
Thanx for posting this, what is the best parts scorce ?
Great Vid! Very informative! What kind of camera did you use here?
What’s the cost to rebuild one of these? After looking at parts available on eBay it might be better to just purchase a new one.
The seal is holding it in, just tap it out from the inside - it will come out for you.
Sub'd, and looking forward to the videos. I have a winch that I need to reassemble. Are you going to list the aftermarket parts, so a guy can find them?
@tubewaldo just look up a warn dealer in your area - or ebay.
Great clip - just what i am looking for - i am a winch noob
2 months later no progress hahah
must i remove the seal from the inside first or if i continously belt the shaf the seal will pop out with the assembly?
hi there top vids m8 ,,, ive just got me a warn 8274 stripped it down to find it is full of red grease ? so I know there is meant to be oil in it ,, but would it matter with grease init an not oil ? cant think why they have done this ?
my brake shaft is extremely stubborn and wont come out at all what would you recommend to get it out
@lshobie - - - Good deal! I need that thing working, so I can winch stuff onto my trailer.
@FRUNTCASTER
I am rebuiding an 8274 like this one only in its stock form. Mine does not have the smaller diameter longer spool or the addition of the spool guide or the albright solenoid setup. I have a couple rusted gears in my top hat and a rusted intermediate gear. I have been trying to find a place to sell me the bushings and gears like the gigglepin winches from England and Australia. If you have any ideas please share. Warn will not sell me just the parts I need.
Google search is your friend!
could you give us the service kit part numbers¡????? tnxa
Ilke wich warn 8274
