There was a guy in our village called "Shaka" we later called him "Shakes" 1990 - 1991 he use to dance for thia music to the best of his abilities and i would envy him coz i couldn't match him...he would be the centre of attraction in those rondavels that were dimly lit....with candles....those yrs will never come back. 20/1/2024
Let's not forget the super-talented Maxwell Mngadi on guitar. Needless to say, without Sicelo Ndlela's mesmerizing basslines this music wouldn't be as potent. These fellows were at a different level.
I am in my 60's age wise. Love the smooth, dancing moves. Entertaining. The Temptations group and Four tops from the United States would have surely been challenged. Pleasure to watch. Love the Afros. South Africa let's be proud of our musicians for me of my generation. Tiny
My father's favorite, December 2022 he was dancing this song for my mum, only for him to pass away December 2023 when we all thought he was gonna dance for us again that festive season. RIP Baba wami ngzohlezi ngikukhumbula, kuyohamba insizwa kosala izibongo 😢
At 0:06 when Sicelo Ndlela lets rip with the bass guitar, my spirit rises to the seventh heaven. Umfo ka Sompisi was a bass player of the highest calibre. It pains me so much that he left us at such a tender age. His basslines will however live for ever. Generations and generations from now will listen to this song and nod in unison that there once lived a man from Empangeni who really knew how to play the bass guitar. We miss you, mfo ka Sompisi.
Sokwalisa uqinisile Baba 100% that yr was 1991 I was doing Std 10....this cassette was red in colour ibhalwe Hluphekile....a guy called Scara in our area came with it from Gauteng ..13/2/2024

That voice Mr David Masondo, and that percussive keyboard prowess from Mr Moses Ngwenya - there will never be a combination like this in Mbaqanga
